My daughter and I joined the TeenEagle…
My daughter and I joined the TeenEagle Competition from July 13 to 19, 2025, and we are very disappointed.
1. No pickup after late flight:
Our flight was delayed because of technical problems. The organizers knew about this but said they don’t pick up anyone after 10:00 PM. They told us to take a taxi and said they “might” pay for it – but later they refused to pay anything.
2. Room situation was bad:
They promised my daughter would share a room with a girl her age because we didn’t come with a group. But she had to share the room with an older woman who snored loudly. My daughter couldn’t sleep and asked to change the room – they said no.
The room was very old and smelled bad. For the money we paid, this was not okay.
3. Unfair treatment during the competition:
My daughter lived in Canada and speaks perfect English without an accent. But because we came alone and not in a big group, she was ignored. The organizers gave more attention to the big groups with 15–20 students. This felt very unfair. My daughter was just as good – or better – than many others, but she wasn’t given a fair chance.
4. Very expensive closing ceremony:
I paid 570 pounds for the final ceremony. It lasted only 2.5 hours. When we arrived, all the soft drinks like Coke and Sprite were gone – only water and coffee were left.
Because we didn’t come with a group, we were given the last table (Table 29), in the far back corner, away from everything. VIP countries with consulates and big groups got the front tables and special attention. For the money I paid, this was very unfair.
This whole experience shows that TeenEagle prefers big groups with 20–30 students because they bring more money. They don’t care about individuals. That is unfair, disrespectful, and shameful.
Final thought:
This did not feel like a real English competition. It felt more like a business to take as much money as possible from families. We feel used and cannot recommend this event to anyone.
