I arrived at 9am on a Monday in order to get photos for a Chinese visa application. Because of the visa, it was quite important for me to find a good place where the right type of photo can be made, and the opening times were also quite crucial. At 9am, the shop still wasn't open. At 9:05, someone showed up and seemed annoyed by me being there. When I tried to enter the shop, I was told "not now". When I said "but you are supposed to open at 9", I was told to come back "maybe in 10 minutes". When I insisted (because I had to be at the visa application centre at a specific time and still wasn't 100% certain this place could produce the photo dimensions I needed), a phone was thrust close to my face. I then somehow figured out I'm supposed to talk to the phone. I was told I should try to come back in 20 minutes... By this point, I lost confidence that I could in fact get a photo in this place within the timeframe I had to work with. The man on the phone explained they've just moved the shop. Fine. This happens. But then put a sign on the shop to explain this so that people don't waste their time. For me, this was very important. Luckily, I had a back up plan and knew about another photo shop where they could help me. But this only added to the already high levels of the stress of the day. I'm definitely NOT going to rely on the advertised services of this establishment.
