I must admit I cheated a bit. I contacted the phone center for an issue that couldn't be solved through self service. The lines were busy and the call got disconnected. So I called again, selected #2 for Spanish, and the agent replied immediately, in English. I confessed my language cheat, Rossio laughed and we switched the conversation to Spanish. She verified my account and helped me with my need. It was very fast and without the frustrations I usually associate to major carriers

I have always had a great experience dealing with customer service. They are friendly and efficient. Their prices are great also.
I spoke with Lucas who helped me add an additional line. He was a very professional, kind and patient. Everything was successful and the new phone line has been activated and works. I appreciate all his help.

Nichole, the customer service representative, was outstanding. She was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and communicated the solution to my problem readily. Frankly, I was surprised at such a high level of customer service in this world. A real breath of fresh air. I tell all who 'will listen' about Tello! Get it? Ha-ha terrible joke.
Challenging customer services, not user friendly. Very limited telephony options for users.

Frost of all I want to say that I was greeted by a very pleasant young lady named Johyse. Her performance rating can't go any lower than an 11 out of 10!!! Her supervisor should buy her a soda or coffee as a reward !!! - Johyse was very cordial, understanding, patient and had all the information available for me to get my problem solved on the spot. 04/19/26: >A bit of a hiccup. If they offer a promo, be sure that you intend to keep that line's number on that promo line through term. They will not let you transfer the promo to another line. Also, general changes are murky, as their normal policy is for your money the remainder of the cycle to be forfeit if you modify the plan(which starts a new cycle immediately from that date). As long as you choose exactly what you need though from the outset, you will not run into a problem, my needs just changed dramatically and the inflexibility started showing. To their credit though, **they do tell you this upfront,** so my star rating remains, but I still wanted to provide this info.<
Tello has earned its reputation, and unlike competitors, that is a positive statement! Flexible, inexpensive phone plans and a friendly to-the-point vibe, leagues ahead of their competitors in the MVNO scene. I have tried many of them, and Tello easily takes the cake. Keep being pro-consumer and I will continue to stay and recommend!

I purchased a Tello line on December 20, 2025, and it never worked. From day one, it only showed “No Service.”
At first, I thought it might be a coverage issue in my area, so I waited. In mid-March 2026, I recharged the line again, but the service still did not work at all. The balance remained unused because the line was never functional.
I also moved the eSIM to another iPhone just to test whether the issue was caused by the device, and the account became suspended afterward.
I contacted support and asked for a refund, but they refused. I paid for a service that was never actually provided.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Tello is happy to take your prepaid money, but the moment you try to actually use their service, they lock you out and steal your funds.
I purchased a plan and simply attempted to activate my eSIM while traveling overseas. Because I used a Wi-Fi/VPN connection, their overly aggressive and broken automated security system immediately flagged me as a "fraud" and suspended my account indefinitely without any warning.
The worst part is their so-called "Customer Support." When I reached out to verify my identity and resolve this obvious system error, I was met with a wall of useless, copy-pasted template emails. Reps like "Carmen" and "Tudor" completely ignored my explanation, refused to escalate the issue to a supervisor, and just slammed the door in my face. They offer ZERO actual human support.
They essentially took my money for services not rendered. I have already filed formal complaints with the FCC (Ticket #8590265) and the BBB to expose these predatory practices. Do yourself a favor: STAY AWAY from Tello. If their flawed robot system decides to ban you, you will lose your number and your money, and absolutely no one there will help you.

Tello’s "Unlimited" plan is incredibly misleading. It is 50Gb limit, then unusable speed, and they intentionally create a trap for their customers. Unlike their other plans, you cannot renew the Unlimited plan early if you hit your limit. Your only option is to buy heavily overpriced add-on data at $15 for just 5GB. If I had known it wasn't truly unlimited like Mint Mobile, I never would have signed up.
I accidentally hit the limit in my sixth month of using the service. When I called support to see if I could just pay the full price to renew my plan early, the agents were rigid, unhelpful, and repeatedly lied about a supervisor being unavailable. After pushing through multiple calls, I finally got connected to one.
The supervisor was combative, robotic, and completely lacked any client-oriented skills. She refused to make a simple one-time exception to let me renew. Instead of resolving a basic issue, she actually recommended that I port my number out to another carrier.
So, that is exactly what I am doing. Tello would rather lose a paying customer than provide basic customer service or fix a flawed renewal policy. I’m porting out to Mint Mobile. Avoid this company if you value actual unlimited data and decent support.

First of all, Kudos to Alexander and Nicole--Thank you!! I was looking for a basic stripped down plan (ZERO FRILLS-just 300min/No Data) to take over my home VOIP phone service by a major cable provider, and came across Tello. I took some time to carefully read over the information on their website, and decided their plans and options were very good and flexible for my needs (and I suspect they will be for many others). The online process was easy and straightforward from the start. Selecting a plan, with a truly inexpensive device like the TCL Flip2 w/sim (4/8/26) to pkg receipt (4/11/26) was efficient and fast. Their responses to my two issues (1. Accidently ordering a sim without a device and 2. Requesting a one-time change for an assigned number due technical issues) was quick, professional and friendly. Tello quickly responded to my email queries/technical issues. Alexander and Nicole were great during the entire process. You can also get online (via chat) with a representative if they're available. The service uses TMobile towers. I tried several times and it works well for me. I chose to not have a data plan because I just using it as a house phone. I still get text messages without any issues. And that considering I decided to just get their cheapest flip phone with 4G! My plan stripped plan also covers 5G networks. Don't know what the other user was referring to when they mentioned "you get what you pay." Ok so the toll-free number might make it a challenge to get a live person, but there's a chat and email you can use, and I think it works pretty good. I'll come back an update if things change.
My phone practically doesn't work. It disconnects all calls, sometimes immediately.
800 phone never answers. You get what you pay, practically nothing.
Do not recommend.
