BHS Direct Possibly the worst online shopping experience

WOEFULLY POOR SERVICE!!!!
I made an unfortunate decision when I decided to use BHS Direct to purchase an MMT Diamond D1129 Black TV cabinet. The order was processed and I was given a delivery time of 4 weeks. The goods were delivered on time arriving 14 May 2015. On opening the package it became apparent that 50% of the items were missing
Contacted BHS Direct the next day and spoke to the first of the customer care operators This operator was very polite and indicated she would investigate what had happened and that she would ring me back later in the day; she didn’t call back. I tried calling on Saturday, I was informed via the auto exchange that the department I required only operated Mon -Fri.
Cutting to the chase, I made several phone calls to the customer care centre and each time I was informed by very polite customer care operators that they would investigate the delivery mistake; I asked each of the operators I spoke with to call me back once they had completed their investigations. Each operator confirmed they would call back – no call backs were ever received [with one exception, after cancelling the order I received a call to organise the collection of the unusable goods.]
On one of my latter call’s to BHS Direct, the operator indicated that my missing goods “were on the van and I could expect delivery that afternoon”. The afternoon can and went; no delivery, when I called to check the expected delivery, the next operator indicated, she had no information regarding such a delivery. I was grossly mistaken when I thought the situation might improve, when I was assigned a case handler; I tried on a number of occasions to speak to my case handler but was told on each occasion she was not available, same old BHS Direct; still no call backs and definitely no progress in resolving the situation. I did receive a couple of emails stating BHS were looking into things!!! But no progress
BHS Direct customer care service has to be contender for the worst customer care centre in Britain. My experiences included, extended waiting times each time I called, promised call backs with updates for my missing goods never happened, operator’s who could not find details of my previous calls and lame excuses such as the goods on the van etc. It would have been appropriate if BHS Direct had indicated the mistake was of their making and remedied the situation by replacing the goods with a new complete package, as a professionally operated company would do unlike amateurish operations of BHS Direct
The bottom line is I have returned the unusable goods, BHS have confirmed they have received the goods and are now in the process of refunding my monies less the delivery charge of £20 even though the promised a full refund.
Recommendation
AVOID using BHS Direct at all cost; BHS Directs pricing appears to be slighter cheaper than some stores, but the price difference will not compensate you for all of the hassle your likely to experience if you have a problem with your purchase. As far as customer satisfaction goes I think I would award BHS 1 out of 10 for customer satisfaction and that’s me being generous. Stay Clear of BHS Direct!

Standing up for Tesco Direct

I have used Tesco Direct for many years and must say I have been satisfied 99% of the time. I use the deliver to store option which I have found excellent and highly recommend. I don t think Tesco Direct should take the flack for their partners incompetences but they should certainly 'de-partner' them if there are complaints.

Appalling non customer service!

Having ordered some kitchen steps through Tesco Direct, two days later, at 6.16pm, my doorbell rang and before I could get to the door I heard a loud banging on the glass of the front door. Completely startled, I opened the door and had a torn plastic bag thrust at me!
The man then ran out, jumped in a van and drove off!
This was the delivery of the steps that I had ordered from Tesco Direct.
On opening what remained of the plastic bag, I found the steps were badly scratched and one of the levelling legs were missing. I immediately phoned Tesco Direct and was told they could not deal with this as these were from their "partner" company. NEWS TO ME!! And the start of the nightmare!!
They told me I would have to contact the company name on the invoice MYSELF.
In complete shock at their lack of customer care, I then phoned the third party company, but as it was so late I had to leave a message.
To be fair, this third company did come back and arranged collection of the faulty steps. However, because they use Yodel, this has turned into a farce. The delivery/collection men are completely incoherent and do not speak or understand English. They called to collect the steps on the WRONG day, but luckily I was at home. They had no replacement steps for me. Three days later they called again to collect the steps and I had to remind them (in pigeon English and sign language and showing of collection note) that they had already colllected these steps.
Again more phone calls to the third party to ask where my steps were. Was informed "computer glitch". So no delivery promised at the moment!!
Sadly, I am poorer by £30 pounds and - having researched Tesco Direct thoroughly now - realise I have been duped. Another case of being wiser after the event. PLEASE DO LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE AND DO NOT BUY FROM TESCO DIRECT.

Great products, delivery methods could be improved upon.

I've bought a lot of items from Tesco Direct, often CD's and DVD's if they're slightly cheaper then Amazon, sometimes comes with a digital version for their Blinkbox software etc. Delivery is often 3-5 days when ordered normally.

I've also bought a phone and tablet in the last few months, The products arrived fine, but the packaging left much to be desired. The tablet didn't even come in a parcel, they stuck a sticker on the tablet box and dispatched it. The phone box came in a plastic bag, would have been much better if they used proper cardboard boxes to deliver their more expensive items.

Left a 4 star because while these delivery methods have been fine for me (nothing has been damaged), I feel that there is a much higher risk of damage while delivering then from other online retailers.

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD

I purchased some outside lights from one of their ''PARTNERS. Everything was fine then I get a bill for £101. 15p from UPS, the courier company who delivered these lights. Tesco Direct did NOT want to know, I rang UPS and WAYFAIR, the companies involved and it turned out that UPS should have sent the bill to the company called Wayfair who were the provider of these lamps. I even rang the police and got a crime number thinking it was a con as the bill was a photostat copy. Tesco Direct refused to take responsibility or sort the problem out for me even though I logged in to their website, ordered from their website, paid by my Tesco Credit card on their website and received a confirmation of order from their website. DO NOT USE TESCO DIRECT IF YOU PURCHASE THROUGH ONE OF THEIR PARTNERS. IT IS EASIER TO ORDER DIRECT FROM THE COMPANY CONCERNED AND LEAVE TESCO OUT OF IT. That way you can email the company directly if there is a problem. I will never, ever use their website again.

Received someone else's return

Ordered a Remington shaver from Tesco Direct for delivery to store.

Product is now out of stock, and evidently I received someone else's returned item they weren't happy with, as that was the last one in stock online, and no real effort to refurbish it either before sending to myself. I bought it in good faith expecting a new unit, regardless.

Hair on the clipper head, scuffed body, badly replaced stickers and the battery was partly charged. Returned to store for a refund and it's 'buyer beware' in future. Shouldn't receive such poor service from Tesco.

To add insult to injury, Tesco site moderators rejected the above review. Which means I'll now post it everywhere I possibly can.

Tesco's do not understand an Order ID

I simply made a 'click and collect' order for 10 books of A4 lined paper from Tesco's Cleethorpes Circus sic.
Big mistake, their staff were incapable of looking up an Order ID Number we supplied them with.
After much waiting we gave it up as a bad job, only to be called on the phone by the first girl we spoke to asking why we had not collected our goods.
Turned the car around and went back to see her, only for her to tell us it had not been her. I pressed the phones call back button only for her to answer the phone LOL.
Finally, found our order, only to be offered 7 A4 Books, 3 A5 books and a bottle of water! Refused the whole order back in the store and asked to see the Duty Manager - Lee (no second names allowed) left his lunch but still like his staff found it difficult to understand the direct relation between an Order ID Number and the goods, and that it is not acceptable or "green" to dump on us the three A5 booklets and bottled water in lieu of the agreed order.
Totally Pythonesque at the Circus, but a total waste of my Sunday afternoon.

Dont expect a friendly helpful service from the tech dept

I brought a HUDLE last July and it stopped working sometime before Christmas. I didn't get round to ringing Tesco until the new year and the first person I spoke to was so helpful and reassuring but I had to speak to the 'tech' department. I waited over 20 mins before somebody from the tech department answered the call. I was not happy with the way I was spoken to and I felt the operative was unhelpful. After the call I decided to ring up and tell Tesco what had happened and how I felt about the call. Again the operator who answered the call was helpful but he said the tech department would have to listen to the call and call me back. This was Saturday afternoon, it was Monday evening when the tech department got back to me. The person who rang me said he had listened to the call and felt there was nothing wrong with the way the operator had spoken to me so no action would be taken. What did I expect? First an apology for the Hudle breaking down so quickly. Secondly an apology for waiting 20 minutes for the tech department to answer my original call. Thirdly an apology for taking from Saturday afternoon until Monday evening to get back to me. Fourthly an acknowledgement that I was unhappy about the service and for that to be addressed and not just denied and brushed aside.
For other customers using this service, when you return a broken item you cannot return it to the store it was delivered via (I picked it up at a local store) It has to be collected by a courier. You do not wrap it in any way - not the original packaging nor an envelope - you do not need any paperwork - not a note with you name or order number nothing just the item, in my case the Hudle. No leads or chargers are returned. I know this sounds unusual but the Tesco tech team get irritated if you question it - for them it is normal. After asking many questions I was told the courier has a special envelop linked to my details and my queries and concerns were dismissed. Anyhow the courier is due tomorrow and I have been told it will take 3 - 5 days but sometimes up to 10 days. If you are told this do not say what I said - which was ' ...so within 10 days' or you might get told 'No! I told you 3 - 5 days but maybe up to 10!'
In conclusion - if this is the service Tesco thinks is acceptable I'm off to Amazon!

I've stopped using Tesco DIrect

The prices are fine and the range of products is great. But that's where the praise ends, I'm afraid.

Every experience has been a bad one. Items have either not arrived or been absurdly late, and unfortunately Tesco blames the courier, who then says "take it up with Tesco". So you get nowhere.

Until I see tangible evidence that they've changed couriers and tightened up their procedures, I'd certainly not recommend ordering through them.

Tesco Direct - Oh where to start...

...Ok the beginning is as good a place as any. Placed my order in the early hours of 21st December and according to the 'confirmation' of dispatch email I received, my order would be compiled into 3 separate parcels... All parcels according to YODEL website were dispatched from warehouse and were with them. 2 parcels arrived next day which was expected as I paid extra for quicker delivery. However the 3rd parcel containing my Christmas wrapping paper (essential) - still with Yodel and not even reached their service centre!
I thought I'd give Tesco benefit of the doubt due to winter pressures but no notification from them about delays. So being late at night with the shifts I work, I thought I'd email them. - Absolutely no reply other than an automated message from their Direct Operations Manager Jim Mills saying 'Dear Customer, Thanks for your email, we really value our customers' feedback. Due to the unprecedented number of orders we are experiencing a delay in responding, we'll be in touch with a personal response soon.'
That was sent to me 23rd December and still no word from Tesco directly. So tonight I've 'live chatted' with Yodel. Gave my parcel number and confirmed my address, they said they'll get back to me once the depot contact them with whats happened to my parcel.
If I don't hear back from Yodel in the morning I'm going to Live Chat with Tesco in the afternoon via the website. (tried phoning but gave up with delays getting through- probably more people complaining!).
Totally ridiculous - Ordered 21st December for next day delivery, still waiting and it's now the 7th January. Pathetic. I'll have to use the wrapping paper for next Christmas now - if the parcel ever comes.

dreadful online

We have come to expect retailers to raise their game. The bar has been set by Amazon, some smaller companies have managed to adapt as they know they will die if they don't. Tesco however have not, the disconnect between Tesco direct customer services, Tesco group customer services (they are seperate - who would have guessed), the third party transport delivery companies they use and finally; they might call it direct but (white goods) they just take the order pass it on it is then dealt with by the manufacturer to add to the confusion.
Tesco Direct say delivery Monday, Indesit phone and say tuesday. phone tesco "your site says monday Indesit say tuesday which is it ? and the confusion sets in for the second time in two weeks. I think there is a pattern here. If this was an 'Apprentice' task. Lord Alan would saying those immortal words. "Your out of your depth, you're fired"

The story of terrible service continues....

Just spent three days and visited three stores just to try returning an unwanted item. If your item comes direct for a tesco partner company, tesco stores have no idea how to process refunds. In the end we stood in the slough superstore for over an hour while they phoned head office for instructions on what to do. Slightly funny that even a store was put on hold on the phone to head office for over twenty minutes! The store denied they could help till we showed them tescos own web site with return instructions, saying take the item to the store! Absolute shambles. Avoid at all costs

4/4 - That's 100% Failure Guaranteed!

Sitting waiting for (paid for!) "Express" delivery - the last 4 items bought from Tesco Direct in my household have all been messed up in one way or another - a collect in store which never got there meant trekking to the store, only to find desk had moved (problem as I am disabled) cancelled as it's too much bother to go back; then three dud home deliveries, all late (current one still not here!). OK, I can take a hint - No more.

Never Again

Ordered a Blaupunkt 50 TV on Black Friday, Great Bargain...... that’s when the good news stops. Delivery date 29 Nov 14 came and went. My 74yr old father in law waited in for the TV for 3 consecutive days and after 3 calls to the Customer Service line it finally arrived 4 days after it was due to be delivered. I took it out the box and fitted the bracket and hung it on my wall. After many attempts I sorted out the Tivo remote and all was well, until the picture came on and there was a distinct crescent moon shape in the top of the TV distorting the picture. I spoke to a lovely customer service online chat girl called Sher and she was as helpful as her script would allow her to be. I was offered a repair or collection and refund. Tesco’s direct are without doubt Poor to say the least and I’m not surprised they have a low number on TrustPilot.

I can see why Tesco are having problems!

Bought a Dyson, using the double clubcard promotion so really good value - that's the end of the good news! Tried to log onto various Clubcard/Direct/.com sites but they're obviously trying to merge them and all the passwords failed and they sent reminders to an email address we haven't used for 15 years!! Guy on the phone fixed it but said, 'I'll sort it, I know what's wrong', in a very resigned voice.

Then got sent email saying it would be ready for pick up at local store from 4pm next day, but added 'you'll receive an email when it's arrived' - bit confused. I eventually went 2 days later at 4pm. Lady at CS desk said 'Have you had an email?' I explained I hadn't but all the confirmation emails said it would be ready the next day at 4pm. She checked and came back and said 'you're lucky, today's delivery has arrived early'. I pointed out that this was 24 hours AFTER the time they said it would be ready. She shrugged and handed over the cleaner! If I'd travelled the day before I'd have been very unhappy! The systems don't work and the staff don't *really* care.

Tesco-Outlet ABSOLUTLY DISGRACEFUL. APPALLINGLY BAD

Tesco-Outlet: First they forgot to dispatch my order. After chasing it took further week.when my item arrived it had incorrect parts , so was not usable. Tried to initiate return. Still waiting after days and days of emails for their response. Poorand slow service, communication, returns procedure. I may have to resort to the small claims court to resolve this. Disgusting. They won't survive. Tesco you need to provide a customer service. Just frustratingly bad.

Customer service stinks!!!

Went to North Finchley to collect a parcel, was told the order number does not exist! Left at counter for 30 mins, no explanation as to what was going on, by which time I asked for the manager who didn't even show. Was then told "can't find it". Thanks a lot Tesco for losing my parcel, wasting my time, and sending my blood pressure through the roof. All I want is my parcel, where the hell is it???? And sort your customer service out instore!!!
