Lovely moist cakes with the most delicious buttercream. We’ve been ordering for years and have never been disappointed with the delivery or the cake! I really hope they bring in new designs.

The only reason why I have given 4 stars and not 5 is that I received a confirmation of my order including confirmation that the cake will be delivered on the day requested by me. As the days were passing I expected to receive another confirmation perhaps regarding a particular time slot. This didn't happen so I wrote an e-mail to the Customer Services and received a speedy and friendly reply confirming that the cake would be delivered on the day requested but that unfortunately it was not possible to choose a particular time slot and that the approximate time would be confirmed early on the delivery day. I understand that it would be a significant complication, however, knowing the approximate time at least a day beforehand would be much appreciated and allow for proper planning of the special day. There was an option that the cake could be delivered to neighbours or left in a secure place but I didn't feel quite comfortable with neither of those options. So that's the only reason why I gave one star less.
First time using the Brilliant Bakers. My son is at uni in Durham and at the last minute we decided to send him a birthday cake as we couldn't get up there. Only ordered the cake on the Sunday and we wanted it delivered on the Friday. No problem for the Brilliant Bakers.
I was slightly concerned when at lunchtime on Friday we still hadn't had an update on the tracking of the cake and whether it would be delivered (their website does state that sometimes it can arrive a day late in extremes of weather, so order a day early). A message to them (via their website) led to a prompt response with an estimated delivery time. Even then, my son and his housemates were all out (typical!) when the cake arrived, so they left it with a neighbour.
My son said the cake was delicious, but we've not tasted it, so I'll take his word for it! I ordered the medium size and after all his housemates had had a generous slice there was still over half the cake left, so it was bigger than I thought.
All in all, I'm very happy with my first experience of the Brilliant Bakers and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
