I paid £29.99 to receive a cheap umbrella; very poor quality and likely from China, although there is no indication of where the umbrella was made. Waste of money. This company does not list any UK contact address on their website and that is suspicious.

In early August 2025 I ordered a Wagasa…

In early August 2025 I ordered a Wagasa 24 riib umbrella from The Brolly Store. It’s now the 5 of September and I haven’t received it. I’ve contacted the brolly store several times via email (only method available) asking about my order. I’ve heard nothing. I’m not sure if this is a real business or a scam.

Turned up broken

Turned up broken. Tried to email Support email inbox but got a cannot deliver message as mailbox is full. Not surprised bad customer service. I have tried 5 times but same happens every time so I am £40 down. AVOID. I have a fab brolly now from a much better seller.

Fraud

Placed and paid for an order on December 10, 2024. Its now March 1, 2025 and not only never received the item, but after multiple requests for information through the past several months, I have not received any replies. Not sure what the business model is. I had to claim fraud with my credit card company for reimbursement. Shame.

Customer Service …

I can’t really give a review on the brolly store umbrella,I nvr ordered from them,however on the shop app there’s a company that shares the exact same name,but the real company is benolm.com ,idont even kno how that happens.i orders a ps5 slim $220 ,just to find out through Andrew(brolly store) with a quick reply that benolm is using there old templates 🤦🏽‍♂️Andrew informed me they’ve had many customer complaints about this and directed me to @supportbenolm,which of course no reply ina week,but gotta quick reply from shopp app basically telling me I’m screwed ,a quick reply from the brolly store umbrellas.Shop app sd I’m screwed, even though I found company through shop app,paid through shop app,emailed from shop app that the delivery was on its way.Thanku Andrew for the quick reply, Maybe I’ll order a umbrella now…

Cheap Chinese tat.

Wish I had read the reviews on here before buying.

Umbrella arrived in reasonable time, but quality is very poor. Cheap and flimsy, no worth the price charged by any means.

Also, as far as the origin of the product is concerned: Shipping information says shipped from Shanghai, so I'm just a little skeptical when the company says their products are shipped from Hong Kong/Nottingham/Netherlands rather than China.

It's not worth my time to try and return the item and judging from the reviews left here, it's probably not worth the trouble.

I was very surprised and dissapointed to read your comments. You haven’t made any attempt to contact us and I can’t see from your comments what you feel that we have done wrong to deserve this, other than your own negative views towards the country from where your order was delivered. All our Customers are invited to leave comments for our real Customers on our website and on Google. We have over 1,000 reviews and comments from our Customers about our products and services. If anyone is unhappy, which does happen sometimes, we can then address their concerns and try to resolve any issues that we can. If you raised any issues that you had directly with us, we could try and resolve them.
Regarding your comment that the quality is “very poor”. We sell many thousands of the Flip Umbrellas and 99% of our Customers love their umbrellas and keep them for years and many buy again. Your umbrella is guaranteed for 1 year and if there are any quality issues with your particular umbrella, we will immediately replace it. But you haven’t reported anything to us or requested a return or refund. They are made from a lightweight steel and carbon composite which makes them very light and could possibly be misunderstood as low quality, but our Customers don’t get a lot of issues with them. They are used by a wide variety of Customers with differing strengths and abilities to carry a large umbrella, so the manufacturers design them to be light and easy to handle, whilst also being strong enough to handle various weather conditions.
The Flip Umbrella is made in a factory in China. We have a distribution centre in China, not too far from the factory so as to minimise our carbon footprint, as we explain on our website. Most of the shipping carriers flights go directly from Hong Kong to Heathrow for UK orders. However, if the routes are congested, they will use the fastest available route. Your order was re-routed through Shanghai to Luxembourg and then Heathrow. We don’t have any control over this, but as you said in your comments, “Umbrella arrived in reasonable time”, so I’m not sure why this was an issue worthy of complaint. We also have distribution centres in the Netherlands and Nottingham for products that we sell that are manufactured in those countries for the same reason, to minimise our footprint.
We have emailed you to try and resolve this and find a solution for you, but you have not responded to any of our messages.

I bought two flip umbrellas

I bought two flip umbrellas. Soon after the purchase, one broke, and I was sent another. The replacement umbrella also broke. This was disappointing, especially given how expensive these umbrellas are. While the service was fairly good and responsive, the quality was poor.

I remember that you ordered twice from us in 2022 as you were so pleased with the first one. I'm sorry that you havent contacted us if you had an issue with it, we would have liked to have helped as we did before. Posting negative reviews is very damaging to our business. It is not common for the Flip Compact Umbrella to break as they are so sturdy. They very rarely break. Yours is not the experience of most of our Customers and I'm sorry this has happened.

I bought a Brolly from this company on 25/06/2024 and to now (24/07/2024) I have not received it. I have tried to contact this company and they have been ignoring me. I think the trading standards should look into this company; taking money under false pretence. Mrs May

The umbrella is faulty

The umbrella is faulty. I emailed to complain and have not heard back over a week later. This was not a cheap umbrella. Do not use this company.

raindrops umbrella

Bought the raindrops umbrella, used it once the knob/handle that apparently unscrews (design fault ) who knew, fell off and rolled onto train tracks, so I could not retrieve , contacted customer service 😂, was told guarantee only covers delivery and manufacturing damage not customer damage ! no damage done on my part especially on first ever use , after numerous emails was offered half price off another , why design a umbrella whose knob easily unscrews off and is not secure? and secondly not even stock replacements,? both questions which were asked and no response .
Terrible customer experience and along with that they control reviews on their website as mine never appeared . Do not recommend them at all , steer well clear .

We used the umbrella less than 5 times…

We used the umbrella less than 5 times before we noticed 3 of the tips had snapped.

Contacted the company and said they would repair if we paid to and fro delivery charges and that the umbrella is delicate and should not be knocked. We obviously had not been bashing the umbrella about.

We decided to send off and they said great news, it’s been fixed and we even sorted out the loose handle - which we were not aware had been loose.

Within 2 more uses another tip snapped. Contacted to complain and said we could pay for to and fro delivery again and they would fix. We said this isn’t good enough and have no confidence that it won’t happen again and why should we have to pay for another set of delivery charges. They ignored us.

Also delivery in first place took ages to arrive from China. Saves their carbon footprint - apparently - from being sent out direct.

A real disappointing and frustrating experience. Awful quality. Avoid.

The tips of the Flip Umbrella are metal, but their design means that if the umbrella takes a hard impact on the end, the tips can break, as we explained to you and on our website. We repaired your damaged umbrella for free and you told us that you were really happy with what we had done as you umbrella came to us in poor condition and we gave it a good check over, clean up and made some strength improvements (handle). However, we did suggest that you were careful with the tips as they are susceptible to damage if the umbrella takes a heavy impact. You reported to us shortly after that you had damaged it again and we offered to repair it again for free. You asked us to pay for the delivery and collection which we couldnt agree to, although we offered to repair your umbrella for free. We are sorry that you werent happy with this.

Poor quality, didn't last.

Bought a flip brolly in Sept 22 and it's barely lasted 18 months. The product is poor quality.

Colour was misleading

I purchased this product in green. Received it and it was not as per the pictures. I work in marketing and the photos have been clearly altered and enhanced, based on what I received. The photos online are a beautiful forest green. When you receive it, they are olive green and the handle and the brolly material itself are not a uniform colour. I flagged this with customer services. I was told it was not misleading at all, and an explanation of the background colour essentially reflecting on the umbrella was the reason. Totally get that this happens, but it is then misleading for the colour I expect to receive. Returning the product is cumbersome, they don't provide the return label or packaging and you need to pay for returns yourself unless the item is faulty. They then tell you it's to be eco conscious, which I agree with. But when you've made your product so misleading, from what you saw online, it's not a great experience to pay to return it. While customer services were super responsive, would avoid this store in the future based on what I would call unethical practices

Hi Gretta, I'm sorry that you have posted this review. I worked hard to help you to resolve this. You were unhappy that the green of the plastic handle and the canopy cloth were not an exact match of the same tone of green. This is becuse they are made from very different materials and it is almost impossible for the manufacturer to match the colours exactly. We tried to find a resolution with you and offered you alternatives but you didnt want any of the suggestions that I made. Therefore I assisted you with the return which only took a few days. We write to all our Customers asking them to keep the delivery packaging until they have checked and verified their umbrellas. and provided a full refund. I'm not sure how any of this is 'unethical' We worked hard with you to find a solution and refunded you in full for your return.

They are in China

Damn, damn. There was nothing about the website that gave a hint that they are actually based in China! Been waiting ten days, but now that I've finally twigged the problem, I'm not hopeful of ever seeing the order, or if I do that it will resemble the pictures.
Lesson learned. Check more carefully next time!

Some of our products are sent to you from our warehouses abroad to reduce our carbon footprint. Awesome umbrella!

I purchased the "Glow" umbrella to replace an umbrella I had for the past 10 years+. The umbrella itself is really nice, seems strong and well made. It has a built in torch at the bottom which unscrews, pops out and takes 3 AAA batteries and is really bright. And the light shaft down the centre, which changes colour by use of a press button on the handle is awesome and bright too and has about 5 different colours.

Now a few negatives which keep this from being a 5 star review. Firstly, the umbrella description said this was an "automatic" umbrella, maybe I'm just being dumb but I thought that meant it automatically opens with the press of a button. Not a deal breaker just thought it meant something else.

And secondly, this came straight from China, I could have sworn the FAQ said orders to the UK come from their UK warehouse. Again not a deal breaker but with the weather we are having in the UK at the moment I needed it fast as a replacement. It took 2 weeks to arrive.

Overall I'm happy with my umbrella and hope it lasts a long time.

We have 3 fulfilment warehouses, in Hong Kong, the Netherlands and in the UK. To reduce our carbon footprint, we try not not move stock around the world because we ship to many countries around the world. But we can ship almost anywhere in 7-10 days as youve experienced. I'm sorry about the automatic function. The Glow has a spring loaded opener which makes it very easy and light to open and close but there isnt a button. I will review our writeup and make sure that this is more clear, thanks for pointing it out. Enjoy your new brolly!

Premium price, cheap product

POOR QUALITY BROLLIES

What a disaster! Waited nearly 2 weeks for the brolly to arrive although it did say this when ordering. Arrived in bent box and the brolly didn't open properly. Unfortunately I ordered from this company in error as it had a similar name to one I'd ordered from before which were good quality umbrella's. Despite sending photos of damaged box and brolly that doesn't open properly even after following their advice. They are constantly asking for photos of the damage! A brand new brolly that doesn't open properly is damaged in my view. Poor quality shaft that doesn't look like it will last. Wish I'd read these reviews before ordering.
