Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is the best analog polysynth I've played up to now. It's clicked with me personally and if you're into the Prophet sound (Pro One, Prophet 5) you will love it. In terms of analog polys, I've owned a Prologue 16, Minilogue XD, Take 5, and various Behringers, and this one takes the cake in my books, for the kind of sound I'm after - vibrant, present, characterful. Yes the keys are kind of plasticky but they are expressive when you actually make music with them. And the sound...OH, THE SOUND! It's got that high-frequency fizz, lovely filter, and the FM capability for classic Prophet 5 sounds. It's just a beautiful-sounding synth and the music has just poured out from my fingers as soon as I got it. It's simple but it isn't missing functions for this kind of synth. There are plenty of free FX plugins for recording and personally I prefer it without onboard FX as there's no ADC or high frequency rolls-off. The Fourm is all fizz and analog electrical goodness (though EGs and modulation is digital of course, but signal path is analog) and weirdly I feel I don't even need to use any reverb half the time because the oscillators are so rich and "3D" sounding.
