Good food but awful service from staff
We went to the South Bank London restaurant having booked a table online. We arrived at 4.50 for a 5.00pm booking. We choose to sit inside and the person who showed us to the table plonked the menus down,(we had to get a drinks menu from a nearby table after she had walked away. We waited to order for 20 minutes being ignored on several occasions for someone to attend to us. Eventually I asked for someone to take our order. She didn’t know what was available gluten free and had to go on her phone to find out. When the drinks came my cloudy apple was lukewarm and therefore I asked for ice, also we had to ask twice for tap water which was also warm. We then got our starters and main’s delivered all at once meaning the chips were cold by the time we had finished our starters. The waiter didn’t offer sauces and I had to go to another table to get them from another customer. The food was excellent but the service was absolutely awful. The staff were friendly to each other (playing rock paper scissors instead of waiting on tables), but not the paying customer. We took the service charge of the bill as did the people on a table near us. My advice is to use the Giraffe Victoria where the service was brilliant.
