Straightforward and a fair / clear auction finish process ( not waiting to finish at a random time ! ). Easy billing and processing.
I found the whole process very opaque, lots of little added costs here and there. Indeed everything must have been written somewhere, but I didn't feel good about it. Recommend to be more transparent on costs and limitations from the start
Checkout and payment so easy and user friendly. Free storage is a good value add for buyers out of UK
Most of the "lots" in the auctions are just stock from their shop. They decide to charge VAT on bottles whenever they feel it suits them. If you are a customer bidding on auction bottles you are in the minority and practically a 'mark' for a scam operation.
Bottle I received filled was certainly filled with fake product, sealed and topped with a 'failed cork situation'. Search lot-650607/chivas-regal-25-year-old on their website for details.
TGWA (owned and solely operated by WALLACE, Beau and MANSON, Jane ) took zero responsibility for failing to identify that the security string on the bottle (as just about visible in their photos) was broken and hanging outside of the plastic seal which is highly suspect. They took photos of the bottle they were selling and should have at the very least listed the failure on the auction page so bidders would have been aware. This was clearly intentional.
They offered no refund on the bottle or extortionate postage fees in response to the follow up complaint.
The whisky within the bottle was NOT genuine chivas regal 25 year old. All new customers are potential marks for their scam operations. Use this site with extreme caution, or just use the auction sites with better reputations.

After receiving the lots, we found that the seal of one of the bottles (The Balvenie 17 Years Old) had cracked and rotated, and there was no special reminder during the bidding, which was different from the past.
Speedy pick up and payment after auction came through quite quickly only downside is the registration fee per item especially when you are submitting a lot can take a good bit from your profits, the commission is what it I suppose. I would sell through this company again .
The estimate you gave for my whisky was realised and it was completely hassle free
Easy and simple to sell. Very efficient. Would use this platform again and highly recommend.
Very efficient collection, lots of updates on the bids, and a very pleasing result
Grand whisky auction have been great.
Email you regular with how the auction is going on each item.
Very professional staff that are extremely helpful with all aspects of the auctioning experience. They have been willing to help and answer questions on selling, buying, and shipping. Very fast to respond also.
4-stars
I give you four stars for everything being seamless. I would give you 5 stars if the cost for shipping it to Norway was a bit cheaper.
Everything very easy friendly and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend you. Many thanks Margaret 🥃
We wanted to offer a small number of our Casks onto the GWA. From start to finish Beau and the Team, make this very easy. The Auction itself is simple to navigate and all the information is there to explain the Lots and background of the distilleries.
As a seller, live information regarding bids is quick and exciting.
TGWA has a great monthly auction, with a huge amount of choice, and attracts sellers with interesting whiskies.
