I am an SEO professional and I know that mass production of backlinks is spammy, by default. I was reluctant to trust theHoth, or any similar service, but I know of an agency who does use them, and I thought I’d test them myself.
I went for a “HOTH Press Release - Distribution Only + Large Boost”. I had expected poor quality, but I never exptected it to be that bad.
The article was published on a bunch of sites that exist for the sole purpose of hosting such guest posts. After 3 weeks the article is not even indexed by Google, on any of the hosting sites, and I am relieved that it’s not. I expect only damage if Google takes it in account.
The service is pure trash. TheHoth is one of the worst solutions out there, for getting backlinks. Expect either damage (penalty, drop in rankings, aimed page doing worse) or no effect, in case you are lucky.
They have a great pre-sales service and I’m sure I’ll get a kind response here, but the offered service itself is near-scum.
Avoid by all costs.

These are some of the sites that they gave me backlinks to. All of them suck, and were recently created just to fulfill the order. This ended up hurting my clients SEO more than it helped.
When I asked for my money back, they gave me store credits. What can I do with these store credits? Use them towards more terrible links?
Don't buy into all the ads that The Hoth spends so much money on. All those reviews are horrible.
Keep scrolling down and you'll see many examples of horrible reviews, they are real reviews. The good reviews are probably paid and sponsored reviews.
Save your money and avoid The Hoth and their Black Hat SEO services at all costs.

The HOTH is is one of the best SEO companies that you can choose for organic placement and reputation management. I used to work as one of the content writers for them and they are about some very serious business when it comes to their clients!
I hired The Hoth to do 8 blog posts in their "Pro Service" that's extra. Let me tell you their quality of writing is some of the worst I've ever experienced in the industry. In fact, the work that I paid for is pretty much unusable and so sub-par that I would never want to post it on my website.
I also paid them to do 2 two guest posts and once gain it is also terrible quality writing. I wasted time and money dealing with The Hoth and I could NEVER hire them or recommend them to ANYONE.
FYI- I've requested a refund and of course they won't give me one and only will issue credits (but why would I ever need to redeem credits for more poor quality work?!)

They don’t do email verification and now spam me.
Not sure how a tech company can let someone else use my email account like that without simple verification and I WOULD NEVER TRUST A TECH COMPANY who doesn’t have basic services like that
Now check out their joke answer: “they don’t find an account in my name”
DUH
I never opened an account. Someone else use my email and you let him.
What a joke of a company

Avoid their article writing.
1. They don't follow your guidelines. 9 out of 10 of my articles came back with the writers not following the guidelines and required multiple revision request just get them to follow the guidelines.
2. Lack of proper research and depth to the article. If your article requests some level of research and data to back it up, avoid The Hoth. An Amazon review article might suit the Hoth.
The only benefit of The Hoth is their customer support. They are willing to work with you to get your article right but the amount of effort and time you spend with their writers just negates this whole benefit because you are essentially contacting support to clean up their writers' mess.

I paid them to help me get real backlinks from real sites. I ended up getting links from 'scammy' sites/pages which they created for the purpose. This will do more harm than good and is definitely not White Hat SEO.

i really appreciate HOTH, Thanks this website.
The Hoth provides excellent SEO service and does outstanding work
Lifesavers, we just ordered our 1st product description with The Hoth. After using other services including Fiverr...The Hoth was exceptional & hit what we needed out the park.
I used this company for years. They get results but their service was not as expected
A great service. Simply a great great service. Thanks The Hoth
I have only been with The HOTH for 30 days so the results of our campaign are not in yet but the company has been very easy to work with. I'm looking forward to a great end response.
Brought in major companies set up my affiliate account, discussed that I would be referring companies, billing in excess of 3-4k. When it came to paying affiliate fees might I add after 40-50 days they de-activated the account and also refused to respond saying why would you give me approval as an affiliate wait for me to spend 3-4k and then decide for whatever reason that suddenly my affiliate account was not according to Terms & Conditions!
Dodgy - stay, far far away from these guys.
We've used The Hoth on many occasions to help supplement our content creation efforts (blog articles, etc...). The prices are great, the content was spot-on and the emphasis on keywords and SEO best practices was perfect!
Great team!!! Great work and when I’m in doubt, I turn to the Hoth. May the Hoth be with you!
