The Houlies made the perfect ceilidh band for our wedding. The dances they chose were perfectly pitched for newcomers and old hats alike. Everyone had such fun and it was amazing to see everyone partaking with enthusiasm and alacrity in equal measure. We cannot recommend these guys enough. Superb musicians, superb communicators. THANK YOU so much. Hope to hear you play again!

We had originally booked The Houlies in 2019 for our wedding reception in 2020 which of course could not happen. I think overall we rearranged the event 5 times, which finally took place in July 2022!
Sam and the band were very professional throughout this time, responding promptly to emails and putting up with all the changes.
On the night itself, set up was professional and the band worked with the hotel staff and kept us updated. The Houlies had also learned a piece of music for our first dance!
Their playing was excellent which meant everyone got involved in the dancing. Many of our guests commented on how good they were!

We booked The Houlies (two peice) to play at our wedding ceremony and then through the reception drinks. They learnt a personal song for the ceremony and I was in tears from the first chord. They absolutley nailed the song, and it made the ceremony even more special to my wife and I.

Then they played a selection of tunes through the reception which had our guests (including me) jigging along. They created a really unique atmosphere.

If you are considering The Houlies for your wedding or event, then deliberate no more...just go for it!

What a fantastic band. We had a few experts among our guests and they said the quality of the playing was top notch. We loved the music they chose for the ceilidh at our wedding. Guidance was given very patiently for some very non-expert dancers, and the drummer even came down to the floor to help! Communication leading up to the wedding was clear and helpful. If you are looking for a reasonably priced band who play expertly, and who operate efficiently and professionally, choose the Houlies! Thank you!

Can't recommend the Houlies enough! They played at our wedding in Edinburgh and the music was stunning. Sam was really helpful and professional in the run up to the day, helping us pick the right music to match our style and was really flexible and prompt when we had make multiple changes due to Covid. Would definitely book them again. Thanks so much!

The Houlies played at my wedding in June and were absolutely fantastic. They were thoughtful and helpful from the outset when I first contacted them, they were willing to change schedule around due to my indecision! When they played they were amazing, Sam's calling through the Ceilidh was so clear, even though we were very terrible dancers we all had a whale of a time, meanwhile the standard of the music was so high! So many people came and complemented them during and long after the wedding they are a talented group of people! I could not recommend them highly enough!

I worked with The Houlies on a wedding in 2018. In the run up to the big day, I found them to be timely and professional with correspondence. On the day, they were fantastic! They had everyone on the floor all night, they were great at calling the dances, they were fun and very lovely people to boot. Would highly recommend!
