Very informative course. Felt it was a safe space to share and listen to others experiences.

In-house New Manager Bootcamp 8 May- I attended this event as an in house training event although I had attended a previous version of this event. The guidance and advice given was similar at both events and as a manager I can honestly say that this has been some of the best advice I've been given in my management career and advice that I share with others on how to take issues forward with staff. The other aspect that I though was particularly good for our group was the encouragement to feedback up through management lines as well as down to staff and I hope that this is encouraged through all the teams. The instructor also did a great job of using the names of the delegates and remembered them throughout the day. It was a well run day and I am sure will give many of our managers a good grounding as they move through their careers

I recently attended The New Manager Bootcamp and it was genuinely excellent—definitely a 5-star experience. I learnt a lot, and it also gave me confidence by confirming that many of the things I do naturally as a manager are on the right track. It was practical, insightful, and I really enjoyed it.
James, the trainer, was brilliant—engaging, clear, and really knew his stuff.
The only small bit of feedback I’d give is about the introductions at the start. Having to introduce someone else felt a bit awkward, especially first thing in the day. I get the idea behind it, but I think people get to know each other more naturally in group work, and I would’ve introduced myself better.
Overall, a fantastic course—I’d highly recommend it.

Dealing with Difficult People
The course was interesting and well delivered but the title was misleading. It was more focussed in giving feedback to difficult people, where as I wanted to learn skills and tools on how to deal with difficult people in a confrontational situation.

I attended Women Advancing in Leadership. The session was structured well, with a great pace and group size (19). It was useful to hear women across all leadership roles and in a variety of industries' sharing best practice and with tangible tools we can use with our teams and in our careers to take us a step further. Emma Walker-Cotton was a great trainer, she created a safe and inclusive space to share our experiences. We all left feeling inspired for the future. All of the resources and information was also promptly shared following the course. It was also an added bonus that the food and drinks were delicious at the venue!

I attended a resilience and wellbeing course with Shona Ward. It was engaging and helpful from start to finish. Shona delivered the content in an interesting way, getting the balance between fitting everything in and giving us time to engage and talk exactly right. The key thing that made me want to leave this review was Shona’s attitude towards us. She clearly respected us, our ideas, our time, our thoughts and feelings. She talked to us as equals as if we were all exploring resilience together. I have done quite a lot of training lately and I have noticed that there is usually a slightly didactic tone that creates a sort of teacher/ pupil feeling that impacts very slightly on how people feel about the learning, their willingness to engage, get back from breaks on time, etc. That was completely absent in Shona’s approach and the result was that I felt I had been ‘gifted’ this training and I was lucky to have it, with no element at all to ‘having’ to be there.

I really enjoyed the half day Building Your Resilience at Work course. The leader, Shona, provided great support and guidance through the sections and having never done this sort of course before, I never felt overwhelmed or lost in all the information. I really enjoyed learning about the different exercises and techniques and the group work we did. The self reflection exercises was fun as a group and I made a great list of resources from books and podcasts from Shona and threat of the group. I would highly recommend this course.

Proactive Assistant was a fantastic course. The trainer was very engaging, funny and shared loads of useful real life examples. I felt part of the group, being the only foreigner there, and it felt very welcoming and supportive. This doesn't happen very often.
The Hub venue - amazing! Staff very welcoming, food was delicious, loads of snacks and the place was clean as well. 100% recommend, both the course and the venue.

Very insightful course, covering a variety of topics within this area and delivered by an engaging trainer.

The course was a real eye opener and certainly made me see how different people are. However they all need to managed individually. Its not all about the manager adapting their style to the individual but the responsibility of the individual to adapt to their colleagues too.

I attended the Dealing with Difficult People course day hosted by James Perryman in Billingsgate. It was one of the most engaging, thought provoking and motivating courses I have attended. James managed to get the best out of everyone who attended!

The New Manager Bootcamp was a good course. Lots of good tips, interesting ideas to try out on the team and a good sense of humour. Particularly enjoyed the problem solving exercise!

I loved The New Manager Bootcamp. Larry was engaging and informative. He really kept the room involved and was never boring me. I usually dread courses like this but this one was brilliant. The things he was saying was so obvious to me but only because of the way Larry delivered it. I will definitely be taking back the tips learned and have urged my workplace to book this for more managers.

I really appreciated the format that allowed for plenty of discussion and sharing between the attendees.
But also the tools and techniques for minimising resistance to change
