Comprehensive, takes more than a year
I have enjoyed the program. It is comprehensive and prepares for a job in the design world. Aspects of the course need extra time to master especially for a student that is older and went through college without the use of on-line courses or computers for that matter.

Overall
Overall, I found the course to be a very good introduction to interior design. With each module, I learned more about the language and terminology of interior design, as well as important concepts such as perspective, structure, and professional discipline. One of the aspects I appreciated most was how the course introduces a professional way of thinking and working, which I think is very valuable for beginners.
At the same time, since this is an introductory course, some of the visual examples and explanations felt quite basic to me. While this may be appropriate for beginners, there were moments when I wished the material went a bit deeper or presented more challenging visual references. Because of this, I often tried to challenge myself further in each module by exploring ideas in more depth and pushing my own work creatively.
In addition, I felt that some of the interior design style categories presented in the course are not always very current today, as contemporary design often mixes references from different periods and styles in more fluid ways.
Overall, I appreciated the course and the foundational knowledge it provides. It helped me understand the discipline of interior design and build a structured way of thinking about projects. In the future, I would be very interested in seeing more advanced courses that encourage deeper exploration, introduce more contemporary references, and challenge students creatively at a higher level

Comprehensive but NOT confusing!
After a warm welcome, I found it simple to navigate the website and student area. The modules are well laid out, thought through and include everything needed to guide and help you on your way to becoming a fully fledged interior designer!
You can do things at your own pace and there is no pressure of deadlines as such.
Your tutor is only a message away, should you need support, advice or to just check in.
All in all, I’d recommend this course.

I would highly recommend this course as it is extremely informative and really provides great detail into the interior design world. Each module provides illuminating details addressing each subject in depth. Comprehensive course with great support
The Diploma of Interior Design provided by IDI is a great course! It is very comprehensive and well laid out and as a result gradually builds your skills and confidence in the interior design industry. My tutor, Linda, is fabulous, she is always on hand if I have questions, as are the administration staff who support the course. Loved it
I am almost finished the course and have loved each step. I especially enjoyed learning how to properly make sample and material boards. The sketch up advanced module, while frustrating, was also very fun to learn. I will say it is a pretty lengthy program and would be prepared for it to take longer than anticipated,especially if you are also working full time as I was. The only thing I would have appreciated is having a live tutor for the sketchup extension module. It was very hard to explain issues and questions I had about sketchup over email.

Assignments reinforce the concepts taught
The assignment in each module requires the student to apply the information learned. These assignments are often quite hard because it sounds easy while reading it but the application of the concepts is where the learning occurs.
