Got some decking installed and fencing really happy how it turned out

Got my decking in along with a small pergola. Very happy and great work

Got my kitchen floor tiled and a tiled splash back . What can I say, it looks amazing and we’re delighted. We have booked him again to install some new decking

Horrible experience!

A bathroom renovation that began in January 2026 was repeatedly delayed, poorly executed, and ultimately left in a defective and incomplete state. I was given multiple assurances that the job would be finished “mid-week” or on specific dates, but these deadlines were repeatedly missed.

Throughout the job, he repeatedly demanded additional payments upfront while the work was still incomplete, and at one stage stated he would not finish the work unless further payment was made. At the end of the job, he also attempted to request more money than originally agreed despite the ongoing issues.

The quality of work was unacceptable. The floor was installed incorrectly, tiles were poorly laid and now move under weight, grout is already cracking, and silicone sealing was not completed. Attempts to fix the issues caused further damage, including drilling through the ceiling below and a shower pipe.

Despite several return visits, the underlying problems—particularly a creaking and unstable floor—were never resolved. The job was eventually declared complete, however major defects remained, including gaps in the flooring and unfinished areas. On the final day he broke the toilet by pushing it in. Caused a leak that he tried to blame on the plumber

Professional standards were also poor, with cigarette waste left in the garden and a lack of basic cleanliness while working inside the property.

The work will now need to be fully redone by another contractor.

Dermot Flanagan is a deceitful scammer. Had him in for some painting, showed up almost randomly. Also took some of my equipment (claimed his partner, Catherine Gore - note she also is one of the few to provide a positive "review" - put one of my painting poles in his van..). Had two deaths in the family (also a common storyline here and on Facebook reviews), a wedding, and his vans brakes "needed doing" all adding delays, painful. Ended up after constant chasing getting painting done in 2 months and left jagged lines all over the place, brush marks etc. had to redo most of it ourselves. Constantly asking for money without showing up too, it's clear he's stretched but to constantly fib about it and then deliver a poor quality job. He seems to set up under new trading names every few months

Scam artist! Avoid! Previously known as Handy Hands in 22 and is a well known conman, MO is starting jobs, extracting as many funds as possible, and then leaving the job either a state, needing to be redone or not come back at all. 23 Chased for almost a full year for money back.

Do not let this man anywhere near your home
Promised to fit a bathroom in 6 days, 3 weeks later there was nothing done.
Would come when he felt like it, maybe 2 days out of the week, spend more time smoking and drinking coffee than working. Arrived at 8 left by 12/1
Damaged 300 euro worth of tiles, pulled out the bath and left us with no shower for 3 weeks.
We have a leak in the bathroom now, broke the shower, ruined the carpet on stairs and landing.
Kept asking for money even though he hadn’t done anything.
Tried to tile and they are crooked and uneven, sacked him that day
What he’s done is theft
And obviously has many different accounts on here to give good reviews.
Avoid at all costs

Great worker, on time, tidy and trustworthy

Dermot completely transformed my sitting room. He managed to install a fireplace, electric fire, and tv and hide all the annoying cables and wires in the wall. He was so patient when I had to run out for a few minutes. I honestly couldn’t recommend him enough and have already booked him to do another job for me!

Dermot was punctual arrived on time on the agreed date and was very professional. Liked the work completed

The maintenance man has just finished tiling my bathroom from top to bottom what a fantastic job he has done I am delighted with the work he has provided & has even fixed my shower door which wasn't closing properly for me. This man pops up every now and again with a new company name. Complete scam artist. AVOID!!!!!!!! Takes your money and doesn't do or finish the work!!
