Fabulous actors who had to learn so many lines and story good although you were not given enough evidence to be able to say guilty or not guilty. I would have taken 3 stars off for the guildhall in... See more

Worth seeing once

Pretty good thought it would be better, with the limited time available i felt we didnt have enough evidence and that will have impacted the verdict for many other jurors! The inflatable tent is very cool and we enjoyed the show, but would not come back for another show. Wouldn't pay full price for the tickets but we were fortunate to have half price tickets

Went today, left after 30 mins.

Went today, left after 30 mins. It was an absolute HOT BOX in the room, there was 100+ people crammed in to a tiny blow up house with no air con. Everyone was fanning themselves with menus, including the actors.

Honestly, even without the heat - it was just boring. It wasn’t a trial, there were no notebooks for us to take part, no folders with evidence, just some tv screens with the one closest to us not even working. Felt like I had paid £60+ to watch a school lecture. Don’t waste your money

Acting generally excellent, Directing poor.

The acting was generally of a very high standard but let down by poor unrealistic direction. Whilst acknowledging the problems of condensing what would probably be a 3 month trial into 3 hours, the judge's lack of control of the courtroom may have added to 'the theatre' but greatly detracted from 'the reality' of court life. I am speaking as a retired murder incident room detective who has regularly given evidence in Crown Court. The over-the-top argument between the two Barristers and a witness and then even the judge, took the whole thing down to a level of Am Dram farce. Even jurors who had never been in court knew this would never be allowed to happen. This judge needs to control her courtroom much more effectively and speedily.
The blatantly misleading opening statement for the prosecution and the Dective Inspectors emotional, unprofessional and therefore unconvincing evidence just weren't believable. If the DI gave her evidence in a more neutral professional manner which would not include arguing with the defence Barrister like a truculent teenager, her lack of experience could still be challenged and the bad evidence handling covered in a more realistic way.
Other procedural inaccuracies, such as witnesses placing a hand on the bible while 'affirming', and the judge reading out agreed statements instead of the relevant Barristers, are simple but important things to alter.
There were also obvious gaps in the examination of used evidence. For example the fact that both brothers were gay was never clarified, and no motive for the female's murder was ever mentioned, never mind established.
I strongly recommend some re writing of the script and that the Director consults with a police expert to improve this otherwise entertaining show. All my points were also raised by many non-expert jurors who have watched enough TV Court Drama to know the Director has got it wrong to an extent that it detracts from the excellent acting.
I'd also advise against spending an extortionate £8 on the programme as it doesn't add anything to the experience accept expense. The Classic High Tea was delicious!

Novel concept and a good experience

Good acting, great concept.
Easy to park and a novel idea.
Afternoon tea lovely and served to our table, a little over priced but I guess the event needs to make a profit.
Friendly staff and overall enjoying the experience.
Would recommend
