Same as everyone else..

Had to convert a pdf into a jpeg file quickly and didn't have time to check reviews first. If you are here before contacting them lucky you is all I can say. Their conduct as soon as they get your data is as bad it gets. That includes your payment details! Polite requests, followed by firm requests, followed by legal notice copying in all the relevant data authorities to delete my data and stop spamming me have been ignored. It's a hassle and a drain you really do not want. There is a special place for people like these.

They are SCAMMERS unwanted subscriptions

They are SCAMMERS I just wanted to convert some documents to pdf. For me to download them they asked for $00.99 US cents which I though was ok I paid using PayPal then without any notice they took $49.99 US dollars when I checked paypal there was a subscription for $49.99 every month. I didn't agree for this and was never notified about this subscription. I put a complaint into paypal after they investigated it paypal told me that my claim was deny because PDF Guru advised me of this subscription and I agree to it. They are liars why would anyone agree to pay $49.99 a month to convert some documents. So I letting everyone know do not use this web site this company has mis lead so many people do not trust them.

Rip-off platform

Rip-off platform. I fell for it too. Their whole business is based on tricking you into signing up for an expensive US$49 a month subscription if you use it once for $0.99 for one pdf conversion. Small print in the corner, I missed it. Good luck getting your money back. I'll be reporting them to the fraud bureaus.

Beware of dodgy practices!

Beware of dodgy practices!
I thought I was buying a one time use of a pdf editor and then they charged me for a 1 year fee. I will be going to paypal for a refund as other users suggest.

I wish I could give them zero stars

I wish I could give them zero stars. This is a scam. They took money out of my account once a week and did not even provide the product, which was a simple PDF conversion. When I tried to cancel, the website says I don't have an active subscription, yet my bank account clearly shows that PDFGuru is taking $0.69/week. Oh yeah, and I just got an email stating it will increase to $0.99/week. I just emailed them with a demand to cancel my subscription, or I will contact my lawyer. Stay away.

Scam

I wanted to try this product on a one-time basis. The product was not satisfactory. My PayPal account paid 0.99 USD for the one time use, and then a few days later I received a notice from PayPal that my account had also paid 49.99 USD pursuant to a "automatic subscription renewal". I contacted PayPal and then PDF guru. I asked PDF guru for a refund. PDF guru advised me to not contact PayPal and offered me "free" service of their product for 2 years. I responded that I wanted a refund and PDF guru would not process a refund. I then filed a dispute with PayPal. My dispute was denied by an "AI assistant" at PayPal, which advised that I could appeal the decision. I have tried to launch an appeal with PayPal, but the PayPal system simply directs me to the same "AI assistant" which denied my claim in the first place.

1 day .99 subscription will auto renew to 49USD and they do not refund

1 day .99 subscription will auto renew to 49USD and they do not refund. Hidden charges to this services is not visible.
I was charged 50USD for something I do not use. I reported it immediately to them and all they can say is this is non-refundable! Customer support is responsive but does not give you a refund. I have reported to the bank as fraud as the page to subscribe 1 day does not say its AUTO RENEW!

BUYERS BEWARE.

My experience has been the same as the other 66 1-star reviews. Being cynically ripped off by this scum bug outfit. They should be struck off The Company House Registered Traders List. I got stung for GBP 49.99P after getting trapped in their spider's web trap of paying 99p for a 7-day trial

You CAN get your money back - when you don't play nice

I fell for it too. And got billed €50 unexpectedly. When you ask for your money back you get a standard reply IMMEDIATELY explaining they don;t do refunds, which tells you that they are WELL prepared for complaints they apparently get all the time.

However I DID get my money back by a) complaining at PayPal; b) have AI write a formal notice to PDF GURU point them out that as an EU company they are lawfully obliged to provide a refund to an EU citizen within the first 14 days and that I would address Cyprus and EU authorities.

It takes some effort, but worth €50.

I used this service for a one-time fee…

I used this service for a one-time fee of $0.99. I was then charged $49.99 two weeks later. I did not authorize a service fee or subscription. When I contacted them, I was told they do not refund services per their refund policy. I will be reporting this to my bank as a fraudulent charge.

Signed up for €1.99 trial got charged 49,99

Signed up for €1.99 trial. Cancelled within 7 days and within EU 14-day withdrawal period. Still charged €49.99. PayPal sided with merchant despite cancellation confirmation. Be careful with auto-renewal terms.
