If you consider joining The Publishers Vault, read this, and be warned

I have been a member of the Publishers Vault for 6 months (July 2025-January 2026). The man behind the business calls himself Huw.

The man talks to and treats customers appallingly.

I joined because I wanted access to hand-drawn designs for coloring books at a reasonable price. The price to be a member is USD 27 per month. On top of that you have to buy the packs (from which you can create a coloring book) that have any value on the market for anything between USD 47-97. I have bought numerous packs from him, and most of them are average to fair quality.

To stay on the good side of him you have to take a good amount of unkind words. Also, he spams you constantly with different offers. The mails almost always contain unpleasant comments and promises to only give 5 or 10 people access to this pack (so the market isn't flooded with the same coloring books), but he almost always goes on to sell them at a reduced price later on.

When I couldn't get a 50 % coupon code to work (and paid USD 87 for a pack of coloring book designs), I asked for a 50 % refund. He would only give it as credit. So I ordered another pack and he sent me 15 worthless pages. After I complained about this, he refunded me USD 37 and canceled my subscription to the Publishers Vault. I never got access to the pack I originally paid for. I have repeatedly asked him (by mail) to give me access to it, but he refuses.

I finally had enough and told him honestly that I felt he treated me, a loyal customer, really badly (the phrase I used in the mail to was "like sh...".) He responded by taking my USD 50 and refuse to give me the product I had paid for.

I was so excited when I learnt about the Publishers Vault because it gave me an opportunity to become an independent publisher. A dream of mine. But I could have done without this experience.

He gets the one star for the designs I have bought that I like. And he gets ONLY one star because he has zero customer service, he is unkind, and because he took my money and didn't give me the product I paid for.

Purchased

Purchased. Spent 5 mins looking through the available packs and saw only children's packs. I did not download anything. Sent an email to Hew asking for a refund and a cancellation. His reply was unprofessional and just said. We don't do refunds, your account is cancelled. Would not recommend.

I subscribed today due to being…

I subscribed today due to being interested in making colouring books and I got this link from a YouTube video.

I now am regretting it terribly because when I subscribed and I saw what I was offered.. i felt extremely mislead.

I emailed to cancel my subscription and have been emailing someone called Huw Hughes.

I said I would like to cancel my subscription and he said it’s a waste of money as I will no longer be able to access what I’ve brought as I only just joined.

I then replied saying okay makes sense.. and that if possible could I cancel my subscription before the month ends as I won’t be able to renew due to financial issues.

Huw responded: If you have financial issues then you shouldn't have joined.

I immediately got a bad feeling because his reply was not only very unprofessional, he was very rude and my financial issues is nothing for him to comment about.

Warning: Be Careful. This is a Scam Website.

There are very few materials on this site. The subscription fee is very expensive, and I kept receiving promotional emails almost every day asking me to buy additional materials — it was extremely annoying.

They intentionally make it difficult to cancel the subscription. They only send the first invoice email and then keep charging you even after you cancel, without sending any further invoice emails. I believe they are deliberately taking advantage of people who assume that cancellation means payments will also stop.
I requested a refund, but they refused, hiding behind their “no refund policy.”

For all these reasons, I can only say that this site feels like a scam. Even one star is too generous.

Huge difference

There’s a huge difference between what’s advertised on YouTube and the reality, besides the $27 monthly fee, you also have to pay $67 for each new pack!

Started Strong, Declined Rapidly, and Poor Handling of Issues

I joined this subscription because it seemed like great value: you pay a monthly fee and get two design packs per month, plus a big initial library of over 55 packs in month one. Each pack has backgrounds and characters in both black & white and colour which meant my creative little heart could have fun.

Unfortunately, my experience has gone severly downhill over time:

1. In my first month, a pack had repeated backgrounds. When I asked if this could be fixed, I was told to “flip horizontal and vertical” rather than being given proper replacements. Any complaint or criticism is often met with deflection and blaming from Huw or anyone loyal to the vault.
2. There is a massive inconsistency of packs being given, arts style, even the SVG files for editing, the quality is extremely poor if you just want to edit.
3. The advice Huw gives is extremely poor in my opinion, he uses chat gpt to make word searches where it does not even work but calls it good practice. I have found better advice on youtube.
4. Packs have been removed from earlier months without warning. Given that you can only use things (commercially) you have access to, if you're busy working and its removed oh well good luck.
5. One I had already used in month one was removed and then delivered again almost a year later as part of my monthly 2 packs. When I asked if it could be replacked or why it was done, I was told that because I’d received 56+ packs in month one, so nothing would be replaced. Furthermore, reason for removal was because pack was incomplete which means there are incomplete packs ?
6. When someone else brought up the same issue in a video call Huw gave a completely different asnwer "they will be put back in months they were taken from". So again there is alot of misleading information.
7. The Terms of Service were updated after people started asking for refunds to add “no refunds,” even though this wasn’t stated when I joined. TOS are not clear, they are updated on a whim. Furthermore it is not clarified that if you leave the vault month 5 for whatever reason, if you subscribe back you lose access to all the packs upto month 5 and start at month 1 again. So saying people should do research before subscribing only works with clear terms of service and guidelines.
8. When I raised concerns about the drop in value over time , I was told "I provide calls and courses with your packs and if you don't see value, you need to leave." No acknowledgment of a long time customer, just deflection and blaming from Huw once again.
9. Many of the most relevant packs are sold separately as upsells, instead of being included. To add to that, there is false scarcity being used. get it now so and so off. There are packs listings from 3 years ago that say buy now for only for 37$ (price cut from 67 or something) while the offer lasts, this is not flase scarcity only few places availale. Again this offer has been up for 3 years now and it is common with the publishers vault.
10. I was told that removed packs were “incomplete,” yet one of the reused packs I checked was identical to the original, with the last modification date showing 2022.
11. Lastly there have been issues where Huw brings in very questionable people with faulty products to sell as packages and people buy them.

It started as something I was excited to use, but the content has steadily decreased, communication has been inconsistent, and issues have been handled in a dismissive way. Based on my experience, I can’t recommend this subscription.

There are changed made to TOS on whims, Huw does not care about customers unless they are actively buying the upsells and interacting with him. There is a group that has been with the vault for a long time and might have a positive experience but as someone who has been with the vault for over a year but does not buy upsells I can honestly say the customer service is one of the worst possible I have ever come across. I have published books for a long time now and have used many services but this is by far the worst.

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE! Save your money and time. They have an attitude when you request to cancel as if it’s not your right to do so. Bad customer service and they make it complicated for you to cancel. They will remove your access but won’t help you to cancel. SMH.

This site is a scam

This site is a scam. I cancelled my subscription in February 2025 through the “Manage subscription link” and they continued to charge me for three additional months. When I realized they were still charging me I went back into my account (password no longer worked so I had to reset it) and cancelled the subscription a second time today. This time I reached out to them via email. They advised they did not see a cancellation in Feb or today but they canceled the subscription for me. I found that odd since I already canceled and again this morning. I requested a refund for the last three charges since my original cancellation. They asked if I followed their terms and sent them to me. After reading their terms they stated no refund because it’s a digital product and the steps to cancel your subscription, which I already followed back in February. Their terms confirmed I canceled it properly previously in Feb and this morning. There terms never mention we need to reach out to them for cancellation or a email confirmation should be sent after cancellation, after all my dashboard is showing cancelled. After the back and forth and them calling me a liar, and now stating it’s not cancelled until I get an email ( which is not in their terms and conditions either) they advised they will not be giving me a refund even though I cancelled my subscription properly in February and again this morning. This is a scam to continue to charge you monthly even after you cancelled your subscription properly according to their latest cancellation directions (April according to them) Buyer Beware!!

1-star review for Publisher’s Vault

I subscribed to Publisher’s Vault based on their claim of offering access to “thousands of graphics.” What I received was underwhelming — the number of unique assets was far fewer than advertised, and the content felt poorly curated, with wildly inconsistent quality and style.

To make matters worse, the site has a strict "no refund" policy, which they use to shut down any reasonable requests for support or resolution. There is no transparency about what you’re actually getting, and no way to preview the quality before purchase. The whole experience felt deliberately misleading.

After subscribing, I found other users had similar complaints — including issues with cancellation, poor communication, and even claims of being sent additional files slowly just to keep customers locked into longer subscriptions. Had I seen these reviews earlier, I would never have signed up.

I’ve filed a PayPal dispute and strongly advise others to avoid this site.

I recently visited and made a purchase…

I recently visited and made a purchase from this website, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The site itself is bland, lacking any engaging content or clear information about the products or services.

One of the major red flags was the no refund policy—once you pay, there’s no turning back, no matter the issue. After trying to reach out with question, the owner of the website or business, replied to me in the email, that it my fault I cancelled.

Honestly, the entire experience felt like a scam. I would strongly caution anyone considering a purchase.

Save your money and time. Look elsewhere for a site that values customers and provides real support.

Lack of variety, extremely difficult to cancel subscription

Promised hundreds of packs but there were only twelve. They slowly send the others via email in an attempt to get you to extend the subscription for an Ungodly amount of time. The quality of the twelve were poor and the variety was even worse. They denied a refund which was semi-understandable but what’s not understandable is denying help with cancelling the subscription.

It extremely difficult, you can’t cancel on your account and they refuse to cancel for you. You have to go through multiple third parties and they’ve collaborated with the shittiest extensions so all emails relating to the cancellation process go to spam and are flagged by Google making cancellation near impossible.

Deceptive and Unfair Business Practices

I paid for a subscription, and when I tried to cancel, they made the cancellation process deliberately difficult to force an unwanted renewal. Cancellation was NOT possible through their website or billing system, despite their claims. When I contacted support, they refused to issue a refund and avoided any responsibility.

But that’s not all! In addition to the subscription, they charge $70 for packs of 30 images, claiming to provide "high-quality" assets. In reality, these images are deliberately designed to be commercially unviable, ensuring that buyers never succeed in the market.

This business model is a trap: they sell images that seem usable but are strategically designed to prevent you from making any real profit. If you plan to use them for commercial purposes, you’ll quickly realize that they are set up for failure.

I have filed a PayPal dispute and will expose their practices across multiple creator communities to prevent others from falling into the same trap.

If you’re considering buying from them, think twice before wasting your money.
