I purchased the right cup through Kickstarter when i first found out about it, a little over 3 years ago.

My daughter often asked for sugary drinks but i didn't feel comfortable giving her juice at such a young age.

When these cups arrived she was so excited and drank from them every day.

Now, we use these occasionally at dinner and sometimes for a special bedtime drink. It did take some time for the full effect of the flavour to be realized but my daughter loved the bright colours and soon was asking for her special cup!

The orange is our favourite! Highly reccomend, we are at 3 years and the flavor is still strong! With a second child, we are ready for a couple more!

I love this cup I’m drinking more water than ever before and enjoying every glass I ordered every flavor they are all great

I purchased two cups and I pretty much liked them. I have the berry cup and peach. The berry flavor is not the one I’m used to, but overall the concept is great and help me and my kids to drink more water. Worth the money! Highly recommended. Thanks!

I bought the right cup and think it is a really cool thing. It is innovative and fun to have. It will not transform water into juice :) but it gives it a nice after taste flavor that is really fun. If you like scented water (the ones the added scent to it but no sugar or real juice) you will love this. I am not sure it made me drink more water, but it did make it more fun to drink.

We absolutely love this product, the concept is genius. We have owned one pair over a year and they are still scented, all we do is hand wash and store upside down, they are very easy to clean.
I’m quite shocked by some of the negative reviews here, people saying the cups don’t “work” is ludicrous and I find it unjust. Let’s face it they are in fact just a cup. They can’t give up caffeinated sugary drinks for you just the same as a gym membership can’t give you a six pack, it’s just a great tool to make things easier and more effective but you still have to put in some effort yourself as with everything in life. You have to have a positive attitude. Are you going to our water into a cola right cup and not notice any distinguishable difference? Of course not or they’d be an awful lot more expensive! If you’re the type to pour water in once and expect a miracle not giving it a chance then don’t bother. If you’re actually serious about making healthier choices long term than this is fantastic and well worth the money.
We have two autistic children and one of them does not accept water at all. We started slowly with the right cup and have built up from there. We use fizzy water and ice which definitely helps. At first we used maybe 75% Diet Coke and 25% water. Now they will accept at least 75% fizzy water with just a small Diet Coke top up so long as it is in the right cup. Since the cup is coloured like the drink visually your brain accepts it as the real thing, and since the cup is exceptionally well scented, and most of our taste perception is through smell, it also helps to trick your brain about that too. It cannot emulate the same sweetness but we cover that by the small coke top up. Trying the same in a normal cup or glass does not work, so rather than us just having adjusted, it’s a combine if that which the cup has helped, but also the cup is continuing its little bit of magic to give our brains a helping hand, aiding that mind over matter. The cost of the cup is very reasonable considering the money we now save on coke, and we are drinking less than a quarter of coke than we were before, lots more water than before (our children will accept fizzy or flat in the cup) and we’re working on giving up completely. It really is fantastic and we’d love to collect all flavours in time. The cups themselves are virtually indestructible, easy for little hands to hold, great for camping, taking to work and GREAT for dieting too. It also comes well packaged in good time. What’s not to like? It’s keeps its promise, no more no less.

What’s more the customer service is second to none and I’m not sure how anyone can dispute this. The founder of the right cup has diabetes himself and so put this amazing product together to really help make a difference. We were even contacted to ask how we found the product. And AFTER I’d already left a favourable review on their fb page (so not for their own gain) explaining about my daughters’ special needs, I was contacted by the company wanting to help us further which is exceptional.

Watch this company, I’m seriously hoping they come out with a chocolate version for hot drinks and cocktail versions for us dieting mums! This technology could be so useful if this company gets the right support.

I really like the cup.
My favorite flavors are grape and orange.
The cup makes me drink more, especially at the office. The combination of the taste and the colorful cup (that I sticking out on the desk) is great!
The delivery was fast. I recommend!

Though it took a while to arrive at Canada (not the company's fault) the cup is really great.
The water get hint of a taste and this is really intriguing me to drink more water. It does serve its purpose. My kids loved the cup and the technology behind it. I am going order two cups for them.

We have tried the cup with my 7 years old daughter, she loves it a lot!! We have an orange flavor, very juicy🙂

I bought this cup off a facebook advertisement. it was extremely expensive, I bought two one for me and one for my daughter. They made us both feel sick, when I contacted for refund was told it was all my fault and I would have to mail these, crazy expensive, not working cups to Israel unopened in order to get any refund.

easy to buy, fast shipping, expensive product that does not work in any way, smell and taste is weak and fades fast, infact after a few days i'd say 80% of the effect was lost, has no effect when drinking at all.

I have looked at all the material and all the youtubers you payed to say the cup is good before i placed my ordre.

I knew fullwell that this isn't a magic cup that turns water in to actual soda.

I actually drink mostly water and have a very relaxed relationship to soda, drinking Cola maybe once a week.

I also had my partner, child and a few coworkers try it out in a blindtest, not telling them what was in the cup, any everyone says its a cup of water that smells faintly of bad cola.

This cup DOES NOT WORK at all, sorry but it doesn't and for the price i had expected to get atleast some function out of it.

UPDATE: I was so pleased to learn that in 2020 these people stop manufacturing "TheSelfrighteousCup". After years of responding to customer complaints, by telling customers that they are wrong, they finally gave up. Best news I have heard in ages!

Below is my original review... Be sure to read their response in which they tell me how wrong I am but never once address my questions regarding nasty chemicals and their effects on our health or that of our planet.

This product is utter rubbish. Purchased 4 cups (Cola, Berry and Orange as an original backer of the campaign). Opened them and the smell was sickly and overwhelming. Within a couple of days the smell had dropped to about 20% but still very much artificial and unpleasant. If you like the taste and smell of chemicals, you will love these cups but don't expect that taste and smell to last for more than a couple of months no matter how carefully you store them.
When I approached to company to express my disappointment and enquire about the safety of chemicals used to create these sickly smells, I received rude, defensive responses insisting that the product was fit for purpose in every way, there were no nasty chemicals used in the products of PLASTIC ARTIFICIALLY FRAGRANCED CUPS and there must be something wrong with my sense of smell for disliking it.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!
I am sure I will receive another response telling me to look at Youtube reviews and that I must be wrong.
EVERYONE who has visited my house has had the same response to these cups.
Telling me that someone else likes it, does not change or invalidate my opinion.
As I read through other negative reviews below, I see that you have refused to accept the opinions of many people, opting instead to try and force positive reviews down their throats.
I'm afraid that neither your revolting cups nor your defensive responses are at all palatable.

And right on cue, the response from TheSelfrighteousCup tells me that I am wrong and that it does taste better etc etc.

One thing for sure
Is it tastier than water - NOT AT ALL
Does it smell like a poor chemical attempt to emulate real fragrances - YEP
Is it healthier than sweetened beverages - DEBATABLE if you consider the chemicals and plastics used.
Is it cheaper vs buying carbonated drinks - Sure it is ... but it costs a lot more than a slice of orange.
Will it encourage you to drink more water - NO IT DID NOT!

But perhaps more importantly, is it made of plastics that are harmful to our environment both during the course of manufacture and after disposal? - ABSOLUTELY YES

Does it contain unnamed chemicals that could be harmful to humans? - As the company chooses not to name the ingredients (because it is not technically a foodstuff so they can circumvent that requirement), we can never be sure. Common sense suggests that something that smells that strong and that much like a chemical ... is in fact a nasty chemical and should not be pressed to our lips.

Want nicely fragranced water that actually does have a little flavour, does not contain nasty chemicals and will not harm the environment? Learn about infusion in glass ware ... its simple, cheap and wont harm you or the planet. Best of all, you won't be giving these misleading people your money.

In a world where we learn more of the harmful effects on our bodies and the planet every day from plastics and chemicals, this product and the "we do no evil" attitude of those behind it, are a disgrace.

So ... Dear TheSelfrighteousCup ... instead of posting standard responses, if you wish to dispute any of my personal observations, please feel free post scientific evidence from an accredited third party that undeniably proves your product is safe for humans and the planet.

Of course, it probably would have been much simpler and less embarrassing for you if you had refunded my initial purchase when requested all those months ago instead of telling me that I was wrong.

When a consumer points out that they are dissatisfied with your product and feel that it is not fit for purpose, its usually best to appease them and grant their refund request rather than try to convince them that they are wrong.

Looking at the reviews on this page, there is only 1 mildly positive review here ... ALL the rest are negative.

Perhaps it is time to climb down off that huge pile of money you made from the various crowd funding campaigns and realise that your product is far from perfect and not everybody loves you. I for one, think you suck and it would appear that 83% of people reviewing your dodgy product here on Trustpilot are in agreement!

I have been using a cola cup for the last 3 months and it still to this day does not work.

(I have been using spakling water as said on the packaging)

I bought this cup after following it's progress for quite some time. The design is very attractive and it's well packaged. I've read about how taste is mostly smell, and thought it would be ideal for my teenage daughter who loves apple drinks but needs to drink more water.
She opened it this morning, excited, poured water in..drank...then...shrugged and looked at me apologetically. 'it just tastes like water..' I tried and found the same thing. The smell was nice, but at no point did the senses of taste and smell merge for me, any more than if a cup of water consumed in a kitchen during mealtime would have tasted like the food cooking on the stove.

I've seen that the inventor has posted some youtube videos as proof that it does work eventually, I'm sceptical. My daughter likes the cup for aesthetic reasons, but it really doesn't do what it was advertised as doing, which is a pity as it's such an inventive idea.

I was looking for a way to increase my desire to drink more water, so I decided to order one (peach). Although the water doesn't taste like peach drink per se, the smell definitely made the water more enticing to drink. Mind over matter! Love mine, and my husband and one of my kids tried it and really liked it too!

I don't drink enough water. I really, really wanted The Right Cup to work. I bought four of them (Cola, Berry, Peach, Orange). They say it can take a while for some people to get used to the experience. Well I've given it a lot of time and a lot of drinks. I've followed all the instructions. But even after months of trying to make it work (with both plain and sparkling water) my brain simply isn't fooled. I can close my eyes, put the cup to my mouth... and it tastes exactly like plain water in a chemical-smelling cup. The experience for me has been a huge disappointment, and nothing like the claims.

Like I said, I really wanted it to work. I'm not writing this review after trying it just a few times - I've given the product a good go and the taste and smell are not pleasant.

I've also given the cup to several friends and people I work with to try, without telling them what it is. Nobody - really nobody - has liked it or given any positive feedback, and none wanted to drink from it again.

The cup does NOT work. Don't waste your money on this scam!
