I don't recommend it
Pub owned by the same people who exploited new students looking for a job in The Saltgrass Pub. Me and my friend (both fresh students at the time September 2020 - mid 2021) were working 9-10h per shift and we were paid £5 per hour. We were depending on those money for rent and food & jobs were hard to find so we stood quiet untill we managed to get a proper jobs because one of the managers refused to make us contracts.
I have contacted the authorities afterwards so that other people like us don't fall prey to that business.
Tonight I passed by These Things Happen pub for a drink. The manager of the pub came straight to me and kept repeating "Fu.ck off" and other insults I won't repeat. He confirmed being the manager of The Saltgrass and of this new pub, and I asked the staff as well. I left my untouched drink and left. I hope people will think twice before going to this place. I certainly won't put my money in their pockets.
