charged for an out of stock item and notified of inability to deliver 24hrs before original booking

I purchased a bed on the Tuesday, booked delivery for Friday and my card was charged. On Thursday I was then notified that it was out of stock. When I called I was then asked if I would like to buy a more expensive model instead and that delivery would not be achievable for the date originally booked. Extremely annoyed that they charged my card, failed to notify me in a timely fashion and that I was asked if I would like to buy a more expensive bed. I will not be using this company ever.

Once again I apologise for this but we were only told of the discrepancy this morning when the item was to be picked to go out for delivery for tomorrow. We emailed and called in the morning to advise and offer a solution but you called back at 4pm which was unfortunately too late for delivery on the Friday but I did offer the more expensive option for delivery on the Saturday or Monday but I think you were rather annoyed so didn't hear my offer. As soon as the phone call was finished the transaction was refunded and I emailed to confirm this and apologise again.

Once again I am sorry the mistake was made at the manufacturers end - these things happen every now and then: but we really did try to resolve the situation as best we could (at a loss to ourselves as we would be giving a more expensive bed on a more expensive delivery date.)

Placed an order that had an automatic…

Placed an order that had an automatic discount applied to later receive an email stating that the discount was not valid and order has been cancelled. Almost a week later and have still not received a refund. Will not use again.

AVOID!

I ordered a bed which was due to be delivered by a courier called XPD, I was given a time slot and even updates on how many stops away it was, they then never delivered and marked as unable to deliver.
The sleep station were helpful in assisting with chasing where it had gone and what had happened.
The bed was eventually delivered 4 days later, however the bed was badly damaged and the dowels didn’t even fit together in the frame! The box was heavily damaged and looked like it had been taped back together?!
I immediately called, and sent an email asking to arrange for the bed to be taken back. This was on Tuesday, it’s now Friday evening and no one has yet helped me, despite numerous phone calls and emails.
I do not recommend this company at all. Avoid if you want a stress free experience

Ordered a Julian Bowen oak table and…

Ordered a Julian Bowen oak table and chairs, they arrived, delivered from the manufacturers, with a poorly oiled finish. I contacted The Sleep Station and received a prompt response from Matthew who has been more than helpful which is more than I can say for Julian Bowen. Matthew even refunded me £30.00 for my inconvenience. I would certainly recommend The Sleep Station for their great customer aftercare.

Great service

Although initially out of stock and waiting for sometime until we got our bed, we had fantastic communication . The wait was worth it because the bed was exactly what we wanted. I will certainly recommend to family and friends. Price was good too. Many thanks to Matthew in customer service

Beware! Double check stock

Their website allows you to choose your product and any extras you might want to add, plus choose a specific date for delivery before adding it to your basket and proceeding to payment. Nowhere does it say the item is out of stock. After reading reviews on here, I decided to phone (no answer) and email, to double check stock. Almost a week later, I received a reply to say it's not in stock and that their website is being worked on to improve this, but currently the only way to find out stock is to phone or email them. The website continually lets you purchase products, no matter whether they're in stock or not. Basically they will take your money and then you find out you're not getting the product you've paid for! Obviously, I was very cautious and didn't part with any money, so cannot comment on the refunds process when buying a product that's not in stock.

Fantastic customer service

I ordered from the Sleep Station as they had by far the cheapest price on the bed I'd found at a different company. Bed was dispatched and delivered on-time.

I had an issue with the bed after a week, Matthew from customer services has been fantastic, very patient mediating between a frustrated customer and a frustrating supplier in the background.

I'd recommend and will use again.

Bed eventually arrived, happy with it, but I wouldn't use The Sleep Station again

The solid oak ottoman bed I wanted was available at a number of different websites but I ordered it from The Sleep Station because a) the website said that bed was available for delivery in 3-7 working days, and b) the website (on it's 'Delivery information' page) advertises an assortment of flexible delivery options including pick-a-day delivery, next day delivery etc. That all sounded great, so I went to order the bed. I was firstly a bit annoyed to find when actually ordering it gave me no different delivery options or indication of which of the advertised options was available/applicable to my bed, but I went ahead anyway. The next working day, I got an email to say the bed I ordered and already paid for wasn't actually in stock, so I wouldn't be receiving it in 3-7 working days as advertised, it was due to be back in stock on 23rd June. I was annoyed, but decided not to cancel my order, because that was only about a week away. 23rd June came and went, with no word. Another week after that I contacted The Sleep Station again, and they said the delivery company gets many orders and are 'running a bit behind' and I should just wait to hear. I did eventually hear (direct from the manufacturer/delivery company, not from The Sleep Station), and the bed was delivered on 5th July. Delivery was fine, and I am happy with the bed itself, but it arrived about 3 weeks after I ordered it, not the 3-7 working days quoted. Information on The Sleep Station's website proved to be misleading on a number of fronts, and I had to chase up where my bed was, so on balance I wouldn't order from this particular website again.

Surprised

I called to cancel my order, since I was told I had to pay £49 as I was not in the area for free delivery.

Called them, the guy who helped me was very pleasant and helpful dealing with my call - I was very pleased when he told me I could have delivery charge dropped and would receive the bed in a few days. And it actually happened too! I was really pleased as I liked the bed I had ordered. Thank you to this site for all your help I am now one happy customer

Great customer service but Z oak display cabinet was shoddy - beware!

Choice Furniture Superstore were excellent - customer service was second to none - but unfortunately the entire experience was let down by poor workmanship on the Z oak display cabinet made by Homestyle GB, who were simply shocking! The cabinet was delivered by extremely helpful people but it wasn't the same as the photos on the web. It had an additional piece of wood at the top and bottom of the rear shelf support that had 4 big screw holes clearly visible. The holes were not evenly spaced and the wood was rough. They were off-set to the rear support rather than lined up with it and not quite parallel to the top or bottom surfaces, so really looked like a last minute add-on that wasn't supposed to be there. When we queried the finish quality, Homestyle GB simply didn't want to know and it was left to CFS to put matters right but providing a discount so I could get the timber blocks replaced professionally. The fact that the cabinet doesn't look like the advertising picture remains an issue and potential buyers should beware - the actual cabinet with the securing blocks fitted in this way looks really shoddy.
