Excellent gates, very good after sales service when a simple nut was missing - they provided the parts, a video and the tool to fix it!
The only shortcoming was their inability to colour match the handles. However, they gave me the paint RAL code and I sprayed them myself.

We went to The Steel Gallery as they appeared to have a large selection of styles that we liked. We also thought the price was very competitive. Ordered a new gate and matching fence panels. Could not be happier. Everything came securely parceled, had a slight hiccup with a missing part but that was quickly rectified. Very happy with our purchase and the finished result.

Ordered a bespoke gate and side panel with matching posts in slate grey. Delighted with the excellent quality and the service provided.I would highly recommend The Steel Gallery.

Having ordered a gate 2 years ago which was delivered quickly, is of great quality, and looks stunning.
Had the misfortune of breaking a door handle recently, which was totally my own fault.
Contacted The Steel Gate Company fearing the worst. Need not have worried, Greg and his colleagues could not do enough to sort out the problem. The exact gate was identified, replacement instructions were clear and precise. Can honestly say I have never been met with such a high level of Customer Service both with my initial order and later problem encountered. Cannot recommend this company or its staff enough.

This is because of the poor communication relating to a problem with a latch that was highlighted on installation of my gates.
I have tried for over one month with emails and calls, not yet getting a response from them for the faulty/badly installed top latch that does not line up on the double gate.

The Steel Gallery — one to avoid

Our experience ordering two garden gates from The Steel Gallery was extremely disappointing.

Delivery was significantly later than promised. We were originally told to allow 15–18 working days, then given a revised delivery estimate of the week commencing 26 January. We were still chasing the company on 8 February, with dispatch only confirmed on 9 February.

No fitting instructions were provided. When the gates were professionally installed, it became immediately apparent that the handle fittings on the larger gate were around 25mm out of alignment, making it impossible to fit the handles correctly. The company initially told us that “a slight misalignment between the threaded fittings is actually standard across our gates” and suggested tightening the screws gradually. After we pointed out the 25mm discrepancy, they acknowledged that “A 25mm variance is not something we would class as slight.”

We requested a replacement gate rather than further drilling into the existing one. The gate was collected, but instead of being replaced, it was returned with a second set of fittings drilled alongside/overlapping the original fittings. This eventually allowed the handles to be fitted, but left us concerned about the strength and durability of the gate.

The smaller gate subsequently proved to have similar problems: its fittings were also misaligned. We also had considerable difficulty getting meaningful responses from customer service and had to chase repeatedly.

The gates were finally installed around the beginning of May. Within approximately two weeks, the lock assemblies, striker plates and other fixings had begun to rust, despite generally dry weather. Most of the hardware was nickel-plated rather than stainless steel. We asked for stainless-steel or aluminium replacements, but were instead sent like-for-like nickel-plated parts.

The company maintains that these locks are suitable for external use and that premature corrosion can occur due to defects in the plated finish. Whatever the explanation, having outdoor gate hardware develop widespread rust within weeks is unacceptable.

Overall: late delivery, poor workmanship on both gates, an unsatisfactory repair, frustrating customer service and hardware that began rusting within weeks.

Based on our experience, we would not buy from The Steel Gallery again and would recommend looking elsewhere.

Great product from the steel gallery. We’re very happy with our purchase, so much so we have ordered a second item. If you want something special for your patio or garden, I would highly recommend the steel gallery.

I have both praise and a negative response to the company. I ordered my gate early because the company suggested there would be a long wait. They arrived early, which gave me time to assess the measurements for accuracy. This highlighted a shortage of 19mm; the hinges were adjustable, but not long enough. The metalwork posts were in good condition and well-established. I endeavoured to contact the company when the results were negative. I rationalised that when you advertise nationwide with such a high-quality product, keeping the business tight and profitable, there are downsides. The answer was to do it myself, keep it local. I found a man who corrected the anomalies a few days before installation. It is now a wonderful addition to the property, and the dog can see out to the road.

I purchased two lovely aluminium gates, one of which was a non-standard arrangement with regard to the post fixings. Steel gallery staff were very helpful in making sure that the gates were exactly what I needed and the right installation. The gates are fantastic, very good quality and look lovely.

It’s so rare to find personal, genuine customer service these days but The Steel Gallery has great “old fashioned” values like pride in their work, love of their craft, attention to detail and yes, excellent customer service. It was easy, in fact a pleasure to order on their website, the wall art arrived beautifully packaged with care (again, attention to detail), the delivery service was timely and efficient.

I’m a creative person and am often frustrated by the lack of originality and scope of resources to create projects with. The Steel Gallery not only provides the vision and quality I’m looking for but also inspires me to be even more creative. I’ll certainly be back for more!

I was online looking for a secure garden gate and came across The Steel Gallery. They have a large range metal products, including gates, and all in a variety of designs and colours.
However I had a few questions, the main one being, do they deliver to Northern Ireland?
Yes, they do.
Next question was, do any of the patterns have enough space for a cat to get through?
They said that I could chose whichever one I wanted and they would make a bespoke opening at the bottom of the gate.
The same person dealt with me throughout the process and provided much needed help and guidance.
My gate arrived within their estimated delivery time, it’s exactly as I had hoped and the cats are very happy with their custom made entrance.

We have been delighted with this company's service and now our gate has been installed, we are equally happy with the product. We were guided through the measuring process before we placed our order and when the gate arrived it fitted perfectly. It has enhanced the entrance to our property. We'd heartily recommend this company.

We were a bit apprehensive about ordering gates online, in case we made any mistakes measuring ourselves, but the gates were a perfect fit, and look great. The company were very responsive to any queries. We weren’t so impressed with the delivery company as they were quite inefficient and difficult to get hold of, but it was all sorted out in the end. My son in law said the installation was easy to follow too. Overall, very happy with the service received from the Steel Gallery and happy with the modern look.

I have found The Steel Gallery great, 5*. I've marked them down because the delivery, by DX delivery, was just appalling. But the corten steel screens I ordered are really beautiful and look both classy and unusual. Their customer service is excellent, the screens arrived in a couple of weeks, well, but not over packaged. If they could find a different delivery company everything would be perfect.
