Flawless service from start to end

Had an excellent service from the Stone Company for our kitchen worktop. From the design, to working tirelessly to cut all the pieces we needed from a single slab to save a LOT of money, to providing ideas for a really unique idea on our up stands.
Massive thanks to Phil, Janette and John who provided a perfect service for us.
And best bit, almost half the price of the worktop from our kitchen supplier, and a much higher quality product.
Highly recommend using this amazing local company.

Wonderful seamless professional and…

Wonderful seamless professional and friendly service. Lovely collection of stone to choose from. The team came by and templated the kitchen & utility and were so helpful, recommending things to improve the overall look. Fitting was again done quickly, efficiently and with care to detail. I was so impressed by every aspect of the company including updates and information from the friendly team. I fully recommend them wholeheartedly.

I am extremely disappointed with the…

I am extremely disappointed with the recent installation of my worktops and backsplash. One of the backsplash pieces was fitted incorrectly – upside down, with the pattern running in the opposite direction. This is very noticeable and looks completely wrong.
What makes the situation worse is that the installer was aware of the mistake but chose to continue rather than informing me that the stone had been cut incorrectly and a replacement was required. This is unprofessional and shows a complete disregard for customer satisfaction.

Instead of being honest and resolving the issue, the piece was knowingly installed, and no corrective action has been taken. I was even told the company claimed the pattern was “meant” to look this way, which is simply not true. The stone was cut the wrong way – vertically instead of sideways.

I have asked for the incorrect piece (70x75) to be replaced or refunded, but so far nothing has been resolved.
This whole experience has been frustrating, dishonest, and extremely disappointing. I would strongly warn others to think twice before using this company

Amazing

Anthony was recommended to me by a friend. Once I had contacted him he suggested a showroom to go to and have a look at some quartz and granite. Which really helped us get an idea of what we looking for. We came away with a few samples and narrowed it down to the one. Then it was arranged for the template to be made and a few weeks later the stone was fitted. The result was amazing. I can highly recommend this firm. From start to finish highly professional. So much so so that I paid upfront.

Worktop did not fit

We Ordered the quartz worktop through Magnet kitchens. Was told that the single slab of the worktop would fit our new kitchen Island and be flush with the edging. They came and measured up during the templating visit. They reassured me that the fit would be correct as planned. However when they came to deliver and fit the worktop it was incredibly too short and did not fit. Rather than owning up to their mistake they said the kitchen fitter could adjust the units to make it fit. This was clearly rubbish and a fob off as the fitters had constructed the Island correctly and could not make adjustment to make it fit properly.
When we complained through Magnet we were told that the worktop had been measured correctly even though it was too short. Has caused us tremendous issues and we are now making formal complaints and considering go to the kitchen Ombudsman for mediation.

Great product, faultless service

From the moment we arrived at the Stone Company yard to the moment our new granite outside table top was delivered and installed, we had excellent service from everyone and we are delighted with the product. We chose some granite with Dan, paid for it and asked for a speedy delivery. Although we had already paid, Dan called us to say that on further inspection he wasn't comfortable with the quality of the granite, so we chose another and it was still delivered and installed in time for an important party we are holding in the garden. John and Ricky who delivered the table top were highly professional, caring and respectful of our property and very nice to deal with.
We are very happy to recommend the Stone Company wholeheartedly.

Terrible company to deal with

Terrible company to deal with. Generally rude staff, particularly at call centre. Bought from them through Magnet, who were also poor. Mismeasured, multiple visits, poor finish. Avoid at all costs.

The worst company

Same situation as some other reviewers here. I used this terrible company via Magnet kitchen. I just blindly trusted Magnet as they sound a credible kitchen supplier. This company sent an incompetent fitter to fit a very expensive worktop and backsplash (cost over £5K). There is a 1cm mis alignment of the socket on wall. And gap to overhang cabinet is larger than 5mm (typically should be only around 2mm). The worse is that the fitter knows he messed up, he asked my builder who at the site to connect socket to cover the problem and asked me to signed paper.

Their behaviour is not only being incompetent but also cheating customers. Should avoid and ask your kitchen supplier which stone company they use before you decide.

There are many good stone companies out there and I used two of others who did fantastic jobs for me in the past. If it is not Magnet kitchen, I would not ended up like this. It is too late for me as their customer service is extremely bad and never got back to me.

Avoid this company

This is a truly awful company. I had a very expensive worktop fitted in my kitchen costing thousands of pounds. They made a template on a computer which in no way represented the final product that left huge gaps around the edges between the wall and the up stands. It took them months to come back to me after much chasing and the solution they offered was just to replace the up stands with much thicker option which would make the whole worksurface look like laminate when I paid thousands for Corian. Avoid at all costs.

Substandard product and terrible customer service

Terrible service

Terrible service , really lousy , deserves no star actually .
They got the template wrong unbelievable ! straightforward island and they got it wrong !
Also got the splashback template wrong also, missed the switch... how ??
No one wants to take responsibility
And when you call them , no one has answers as to why it happened.

Inferior product

I received a Stone and co a very nice black and white purse as a gift. I started to wear it and with in a week or so I noticed the leather was peeling off. It is so ugly I can’t think about wearing it. I would like it to be replaced. I don’t want my friend to know about the poor workmanship of this purse. This is why I am writing to directly. A replacement would be a solution. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Avoid!

Whole heartedly agree with the previous review.

As mentioned by other reviews, avoid at all costs (especially if ordering a stone company counter through Magnet.) Should any small issues arise (in my case a small issue with the templating that i was told by the fitter would take 20 minutes to rectify and am now given a 2.5 week timeline to come back which could very much impact the quality of our kitchen). The customer service is abysmal and although you will sign on Stone Company letterhead they will refuse to speak with you directly and only through Magnet - ( unless, of course they are chasing your initial purchase terms) If I had known this would have been the situation I would have chosen another company to fit our quartz worktops in a heartbeat as even a small savings has not been worth the hassle.

I would avoid whether going through Magnet or otherwise given their choice to conduct business a step removed from their customers at any opportunity.

Delays, stubborn and unreasonable. Speaking to them is like trying to reason with an answering machine.

The Stone Company is going to supply a quartz worktop for my new Magnet Kitchen.

I have to clarify, the service from Magnet has been superb.

I cannot say the same from The Stone company because:

1.- It took them 4 days after the cabinets were installed days for them to sent someone to made the countertop template.
2.- The countertop estimate fitting was suppose to be about 15 days after the template was made. About a week later they shifted the estimated fitting date by 20 more days. So now we are looking to a fitting that hopefully will be 30 days after the template was done.
3.- The last and more infuriating experience was when I contacted them asking to provide pictures or drawings of the edge profiles they do. I just wanted to see images to have peace of mind that what is is in the order would look like I expect. The absolutely refused to provide that information to me. They argued that as I have a contract with Magnet, they cannot provide any information to me. It doesn't matter that the info I requested was general and not related to my contract with Magnet. It was impossible for them to understand that most vendors of worktop have that sort of information fully available in theirs website. I am still shocked of how stubborn and unreasonable they are. It was like trying to reason with an answering machine.
