I originally purchased two Strapateer straps for my digital cameras, but I loved them so much I had to get one for my Nikon F3hp — a camera I’ve been shooting with for nearly forty years. Owning anoth... See more

The leather is very tough and easy to use. I am very happy with my purchase and may end up buying a second one.

Hi. The vest is well made. But...it is suppsed to be anXL and it is barely a small Large. The arm holes are tight, especially if wearing a jumper or similar underneath. It is too short: and the pockets are not at the bottom of the vest but some 2 centimetres from the bottom, so that to try and use them feels as though you're cramped and awkward. The pockets extend around the sides, which is deeply impractical as mose users would also be using a bag of some sort, and that impedes their use. Compared to say a Domke Photogs vest (which is a slightly different beast, I admit) it seems a 'fashion' item, and not a working vest. I was really disappointed, sorry.

I'm thrilled to say that the service I received was absolutely first-class, from ordering to receiving the goods. The items arrived exactly as shown in the webshop, and the packaging was perfectly intact. The camera strap itself is an ingenious solution to every photographer's most obvious problem. I can't recommend this solution highly enough!

This is the perfect strap for vintage lovers.
The texture of the leather and the quality of the metal fittings are excellent.
I'm looking forward to your new products.
Got my Type A in the mail today. It’s everything that I imagined it to be, maybe even better. The quality of the leather is the best I’ve seen in a leather strap and the simple design of a clasp mid way makes it incredibly functional. Hardware feels great too. Not too flimsy, nor too heavy. It’s just right. Now I can pretend I’m Jim Marshall.
Shipping was quick, accurate. Package was in great presentation and packaged securely. Strap itself is just what I expected- beautiful and smells of genuine leather.
Great product and prompt delivery (The type C strap) I've ordered the photo vest as well. Looking forward to receiving it soon.
The people at Strapateer were great. They were polite and responsive. They were helpful and generous. The quality of the straps themselves leave nothing to be desired. the leather is strong and comfortable. the flexibility of the straps is exactly what I've been looking for in a strap for my rolleiflex as much as for my leica. Its a wonder these things were brought back from extinction, they truly are a photographer's best friend.
Dear Strapateer
I have been with Magnum Photos for about 50 years and when I first moved to New York in 1974 I was of course introduced to Marty Forshire who fixed my Leicas until the end. Of course I also used his straps on my cameras. I still have one very old in a drawer and always wished someone reissued the straps which were the best ever. I have not had the time to compare with your own, but at this point of my life I wish your strap was 2-3 inches longer for a variety of reasons and modalities of usage. The rings that connect with the camera could also be sturdier. I don’t mean to offend or hurt you as I am nevertheless so grateful for your efforts to bring back the best camera strap ever.
Warmly

I can now easily take both the Q2 and Q2M with me to shoot without getting tangled up in loose straps....
Very pleased with the quality of the camera straps, the communication and follow up. Recommended. Thanks.
Been looking for a strap like this for decades....
My father was a photojournalist/newspaper photographer all throughout the 60's and 70's. He had these straps - when I became a photographer in my early teen's, a few of my cameras had his old straps. Eventually those all wore out completely and were replaced - I was never able, though, to find the original type again. I looked for years and years.
These are really well built and work great with small cameras. The leather is just the right balance between strength and softness - rugged. They are pretty thin, so I do not know how they'd feel on the shoulder supporting a really heavy rig. In that situation I'd probably want the thicker version for sure.
Thank you kind people at The Strapateer Company for caring enough about these straps enough to build these wonderful reproductions. I have them now on all of my cameras.
