The Village Midwife Antenatal - Worcester with Lisa
We did The Village Midwife antenatal course in Worcester with Lisa, and honestly, we couldn’t recommend her highly enough. She was incredible throughout - warm, knowledgeable, approachable and brilliant at explaining everything in a way that was easy to understand.
We learnt so much and came away feeling much more informed, prepared and confident for the journey ahead. Lisa created such a welcoming environment and made it really easy to ask questions and have honest conversations.
Thank you so much Lisa, for all your support and for making the course such a positive and valuable experience. We’re so glad we chose to do it with you!
Toddler course
Recently finished the (very first!) toddler course run by Robyn. I did antenatal, postnatal, baby massage and introducing solids workshop with TVM and I felt a bit bereft thinking there was nothing more to learn after that... then BAM! Along comes the toddler course to save me! Robyn's fantastic and the course was really helpful, with a focus on all the main things I wanted to know but also with time to ask questions about stuff specific to my situation. Can't wait for the 'Starting School' course in 2.5yrs time (PLEEEEEEEEASE) 🙏 ♥️
The course led by Elessia was worth…
The course led by Elessia was worth every penny and more. With her enthusiasm, willingness to answer all our questions and kind soul, it was an enjoyable course that we looked forward to each week. We learned so much and have made friends from the course.
Thank you for offering such a great course and all of your top tips and tricks!!!
Fantastic Antenatal Classes with Lisa
Lisa is a consummate professional with a huge wealth of experience about all things birth and beyond! She broke the sessions down into manageable chunks so we weren't ever overwhelmed, and interspersed professional and personal experiences to provide honest, realistic advice. It was particularly good to see real images and videos of our local maternity unit, and to understand the processes behind each type of birth. My husband and I would highly recommend Lisa's sessions as we both learnt a huge amount, met like-minded parents-to-be, and felt well cared for throughout the whole process.
Fantastic course and amazing trainer
We have had the most wonderful time in our antenatal class led by Alessia. Her knowledge has been invaluable, and we appreciated her kindness and humour too. We have loved being able to meet local parents too, and we look forward to building our community thanks to the course.
Brilliant hypnobirthing course
My partner and I joined the Hypnobirthing group not knowing too much about it and not having tried anything like it before but we both found it really beneficial for the birth of our first baby. The techniques we practiced in the class really helped us to stay calm and centred during labour and birth and there was something for everyone so you can find what works best for you.
Robyn, who led our group, was so welcoming and knowledgable and the environment was very calming. With plenty of choice of sofas and armchairs you're guaranteed to find the perfect spot to relax and have a cup of tea while working your way through the course! Would highly recommend to anyone considering hypnobirthing! :)
The most wonderful support network
Sophie, Robyn and Zoe provided a course that was not only practical and full of really useful information, but they created the most supportive environment. It really felt like a big hug during what can be one of the most overwhelming experiences. I will always be so grateful for that
A brilliant antenatal course
We recently attended The Village Midwife antenatal course and had a great experience. The sessions were informative, well-structured, and delivered in a reassuring and empowering way.
We especially appreciated the practical and realistic approach, covering not only the medical aspects but also emotional preparation, partner involvement, and the early weeks with a newborn.
Alessia, our midwife, was brilliant. She created a warm, welcoming environment where no question felt too small or silly. She explained everything clearly and gave us the confidence to approach birth and early parenthood feeling prepared rather than overwhelmed.
We would highly recommend this course to anyone expecting a baby—it’s been an incredibly valuable and positive experience.
Bicester classes with Jenni Greene -- superb.
My husband and I are first time parents and we could not be more pleased to have invested in this antenatal course, as opposed to settling for the free NHS classes (which are fine, I'm sure). Each class was three hours long but the time really flew by, as Jenni made it so engaging. There was time to listen, socialise with other parents, and also participate in interactive activities to help us get our parenting brains into gear (rather than just sitting and listening; trying to absorb a lot of info)! Key aspects my husband and I appreciated:
- A logical and thoughtfully planned course. I think it covered everything we largely need to learn about as first-time parents!
- Plenty of opportunities to ask questions and bounce off Jenni's "teaching" / other people's thoughts and questions too.
- Jenni's warm, patient, and encouraging "teaching" style.
- The fact that Jenni works at our chosen birth hospital, so could give us specific insights into what our experiences might be like there.
- In-person classes: in a day and age where many of us have to sit in front of computers and attend online meetings for work, it was nice to learn and engage in person. I think we would have found it harder to absorb everything if we had no social / direct contact with Jenni or fellow parents-to-be.
- Again: classes were not rushed, but nor did they drag!
- Jenni is so kind and generous and has encouraged us to stay in touch or reach out if we need support beyond the course.
We can't recommend the Bicester course, more. Thank you so much to the TVM team, but especially Jenni! We're feeling so much more prepared, now :)
Great birth package with Sophie
We engaged Sophie's services (Wendover The Village Midwife) for a home birthing package including ante and post-natal care. Her knowledge and experience were so useful before the birth as we left some of our NHS appointments confused, but with Sophie's debriefs we had complete confidence that we had the full picture rather than just what we were being told at my wife’s NHS appointments. She quickly got to know my wife and I during the ante-natal appointments meaning that we went into the home birth with complete trust and confidence in her as our midwife. She facilitated an amazing home birth. My wife’s placenta was unavoidably retained post birth and Sophie came with the now three of us to the hospital. Here again she came in to her own and strongly advocated for my wife. As the husband/partner I was told that advocating for your partner in the hospital is very important, so it was extremely useful that Sophie could do so for my wife, armed with all the experience and knowledge of a midwife who has seen it all before!
As expected after such great care so far, Sophie was amazing to have for postnatal care, ensuring that breast feeding went smoothly. It was really important to my wife (and I) to have a home birth if possible and for my wife to breastfeed our baby, Sophie played a massive role in achieving both of these goals. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to someone who wants the services of a private midwife, be that one appointment pre-birth or the whole package all the way through to post-natal care.
You want Sophie at your birth!
Sophie is exactly the person you want attending your birth. She is an incredibly experienced midwife and got to understand me, my husband, and our preferences closely. We felt listened to and well informed after our antenatal visits which took place at our home.
By the time I went into labour I was confident I was capable of birthing our baby the way I wanted to and I knew Sophie would make the correct clinical calls as to what to do if there were any complications.
I had a beautiful home birth and Sophie's care during pregnancy, birth and postnatally smoothed all the bumps in the road on our journey to becoming new parents.
If you are looking for knowledgeable support from someone fiercely on your side I cannot recommend Sophie highly enough.
Excellent
Attended both the Antenatal and Postnatal courses in Wendover with Sophie, both were excellent. Very informative and Sophie is up to date on all the latest research and always happy to answer questions. The postnatal course puts you in touch with local independent businesses and mums with babies the same age as your little one. A really great support network.
Excellent postnatal course
I’m not usually one to leave a review but it’s important to support small local businesses, especially those that are smashing it!
I attended the postnatal course in Wendover with Sophie in 2025. Sophie is the most approachable, passionate midwife; she makes you feel at ease and as though you’ve known her for years from the moment you meet her. She has created a lovely, judgement free space where new mums and babies can find their way. I feel that the timing of the postnatal course works really well, with lots of meets and support at the beginning which then spreads out as baby is a little older. The content is varied and there is value in each input. The HQ set up is lovely with hot drinks and biscuits always on offer, along with all the baby essentials should you have forgotten anything.
I would definitely recommend The Village Midwife.
If you’re having your first baby this course is an absolute must!
Absolutely brilliant course! Covered everything I could possibly want to know about birth, pain relief options, looking after baby and recovery. Any questions we had were answered brilliantly. We’ve made some great friends who we will keep in touch with too. Not just useful for the pregnant mum, very beneficial for partners too. If you’re having your first baby this course is an absolute must!
Highly recommend!
The antenatal course was absolutely brilliant - I couldn’t recommend it highly enough! It was so informative, and really helped build my confidence. I have already signed up for the post natal course and really looking forward to it!
Loved it! Highly recommend
We had a brilliant time with Sophie on our November antenatal course in Wendover. The course was really informative, and we came away with loads of tools and information that has made us feel much more prepared for what's ahead. Sophie is incredibly passionate about what she teaches and you can tell she really cares about everyone too. We really loved it!
We've also met some lovely fellow parents-to-be through the course too which is invaluable.
Thank you so much!
Thank you Lisa!
I am so glad that I attended the Village Midwife Antenatal course in Worcester, and was able to meet Lisa. She was absolutely fantastic and is so passionate about patient care. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience; she is not only extremely knowledgable and up to date with current guidelines and evidence-based practice, she also has so much knowledge of local services. Knowing that I had her support was so reassuring. Lisa is such a caring and lovely person and I would urge anyone considering booking to do so! Thank you Lisa.
Antenatal in small groups - highly recommended
Victoria (an experienced midwife) was great - warm, welcoming & very knowledgeable. The course was in a small group of 7 couples at Hughenden village hall on weekends which was very convenient. There is a very detailed handout book and the course covers all aspects of birth, early baby care, (bathing, nappies, bottle feeding etc.) breast feeding & slings. Would highly recommend it and now we have some great parent friends in a WhatsApp group!
Village Midwife antenatal classes-North…
Village Midwife antenatal classes-North Hampshire-Nikki.
We signed up for the Village Midwife antenatal classes as an alternative to other antenatal classes. The content of the classes and the fact that it is delivered by a trained Midwife was second to none and really helpful. The support provided by the antenatal instructor once baby is born is invaluable. I honestly don't know where I would be right now had it not been for Nikki answering all my stupid questions. Its definitely got me through the last 10 days.
Classes are undertaken in a relaxed atmosphere and Nikki helps you to prepare for all options for birth and inspires you to confidently bring your baby into the world.
I would recommend these antenatal classes to a friend. X
Can't recommend Lisa enough!
Lisa runs an amazing course in Worcester - we are so happy that we booked our antenatal classes with her after hearing 'mixed reviews' about the more mainstream class options.
She has such a wealth of experience from her role as a midwife and can talk about all of the difference services/options in Worcester, but what is super empowering is that Lisa is clearly constantly learning new things to stay as up to date as possible (as well as teaching local midwifery students) and she shares this knowledge throughout the course.
All of this on top of the support she offers to parents to be/new parents, I'm convinced she must be superwoman!
We finished the course feeling really confident that whatever happens when our baby arrives we have the tools to make informed decisions.
