Booking platform for other companies, not the car hire themselves.
The Wedding Car Hire People are an initial website that takes you to other websites where you are actually renting the car from. Their website does not rent the cars out themselves. Whilst the communication from The Wedding Hire Company was always professional and timely, they do not hold any responsibility for the car hire you end up using from being directed from their website. The Wedding Car Hire People have also written to me after reading my first review to ask me to make it clear that they do not sub-contract out these companies and if there had been any issues ahead of the day they would have been able to assist. Unfortunately, my issues with the company directed to by The Wedding Car Hire People were on the day itself. Therefore, whilst The Wedding Care Hire People is a good place to start from finding car hire companies for the day, it is a booking platform (they do not subcontract), so you then need to be careful of the quality of the company you end up being directed to use. I would not bothered with a 'booking platform' for other car companies again.

For anyone reading, we’d just like to clarify a few points so the relationship between the platform, the customer and the vehicle owners is fully understood:
• We don’t redirect customers to external websites to book elsewhere.
All quotes, bookings, payments and communication take place directly on our platform.
• We don’t subcontract.
Every vehicle owner is an independent, vetted business with their own pricing, payment method, and on-the-day procedures. Customers choose the exact car and the exact owner they wish to book.
• Paying on the day is optional.
If you’re not comfortable paying cash on the day, the booking confirmation includes a secure online payment link so you can settle the balance in advance. Many customers choose this for peace of mind.
• Booking through a platform didn’t cause the issue you experienced.
We completely understand your frustration — we would feel the same in your position — but the situation you described would have been the same had you booked directly with the same vehicle owner. The payment method and Bluetooth setup are controlled solely by the operator, not the platform.
The vehicle owner you selected is actually one of the highest-rated 5-star operators on our system, and we know they would genuinely appreciate receiving your feedback directly. We’re also raising this with them so they can review what happened and make improvements where needed.
• Booking through a platform is generally the safest and most reliable way to book services like this.
You’re able to:
– read independent reviews
– compare multiple cars and operators
– pay securely by card
– be protected by clear terms and conditions
– and have an independent point of contact if something doesn’t go as planned.

A perfect day
We picked Ruby Wedding cars for my son’s wedding on 18th October. It was booked with Wayne (unfortunately he was on holiday) but the driver was Trevor. He arrived at my son’s house in advance of the time to pick up the groom, the best man and the groomsman. He was very pleasant and courteous (even updated the lads with football scores). The car (a white Chrysler) was spotless inside and out. He then waited patiently at the venue before taking the bride and groom to the reception. Nothing was too much trouble to make sure the day went perfectly. If you have a wedding or special event coming up I would have no hesitation in recommending Wayne and his team.
