Grumpy sock company

I bought alpaca bed socks for my wife as a gift while she was recovering from an operation. She wore them to keep her feet warm for 2-3 days, mostly with her feet up, not heavy use at all. Surprisingly they developed holes on both socks so I asked for a refund. They made me pay to return them and then told me it was “use error” but would send me a replacement pair but not refund postage. This was clearly nonsense and after some back and forth I got a refund and the return postage which was my right, only after initiating chargeback proceedings. Throughout the whole returns process Martin was grumpy, sarcastic and unhelpful. I feel sorry for all the people that have to work with him.

Arrived promptly far too big for size…

Arrived promptly far too big for size described hefty £5 for postage of 2 pairs of socks you have to pay for your own return no label supplied I wouldn't bother again with them no response to poor reviews either on here

Best socks ever

These are the best socks I’ve ever had and I’ve bought dozens of the years. Arrived swiftly as described and wash without shrinking. Will buy again

Not Good & Don't use

Not Good.

I ordered socks as a present in 2024, and they were excellent.

Ordered some more in October 2025, socks were sent but not the size requested although 'the computer says' there were as requested. Items returned. No reply, no response, and no replacement socks. Very glossy website, but not supported by customer service. They operate out of a communal address in Harrogate, but seem to operate from a residential property somewhere else. Am thinking of going up there for a bit of door knocking and face to face discussion and explanation.

Response to my email, at least I got one, 'All of my fault, I gave wrong email, I gave wrong size...'

Will be returning and asking for a refund.

Good socks, poor admin.

The socks are good quality, but the admin leaves room for improvement. I had a one year subscription, which meant I’d receive 4 sock deliveries over 12 months. The first one arrived as expected. After 6 months and no further delivery I contacted the company, and then received my second and (a further month later) my third shipments. Approaching 12 months and no sign of delivery number 4, I phoned again - only to be told they’d shipped it around 6 weeks previously. I’d received no package and no dispatch email, so asked for tracking info - there wasn’t any. They then sent another package which I received. The hassle simply isn’t worth the subscription. The icing on the cake was that the Yorkshire Sock Co attempted to auto-renew my subscription for a further year. This was after I’d been told that they did not do auto renewals when I started my original subscription. As I said, the socks are good…..shame about the operational side of things.

Do Not Use This Company

I purchased two sets of six pairs of socks on 23 March 2023 and paid for express postage as I needed them urgently. Half the order finally arrived early April 2023 after I chased to find out what had happened. Three days after I followed up to find out where the other half of my order was, I was assured that the six pairs of socks I was waiting for would be sent out as soon as possible. They weren’t. I chased again on 3 May 2023 and have heard nothing. This company will take your money and not send you the product. They will of course put you on their mailing list to send marketing emails to. Their customer service is non-existent, the product overpriced and quite frankly they shouldn’t be in business.

No Stars if possible

I bought 2 pairs of bed socks from this company, after 13 weeks the blue pair had holes in the heels. The pink pair were still like new. After several emails they eventually replied saying this was really strange, they hadn't had any socks returned from 2000 pairs sold, what shoes had I worn them with. These are bed socks, I don't tend to wear shoes in bed! I pointed out that they were bed socks so no shoes involved. They didn't bother to reply, I even sent another follow up email, still no reply.
This company obviously have no intention of dealing with this issue. Their customer service is nonexistent.
These socks were not cheap, nearly £20 per pair. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect them to last longer than 13 weeks.
I would not recommend buying from this company.
