Airdrie Shop - Took new jeans in to be shortened by an inch. Was firstly shocked at the £14 charge for them. When I collected them, the job was absolutely awful. The hem hadn't been stitched prop... See more

I visited the Stretford store for…repair and new zips
I visited the Stretford store for repairs on my hen do dress, which I planned to wear for my work night out, as well as two coats with broken zips. I am absolutely delighted with the results! The dress had a torn piece of material running down it, which the team skillfully replaced with new fabric, and it now looks incredible. The staff were friendly, professional, and exceeded my expectations, even completing the repairs ahead of schedule. I couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend their services!
Zipyard Worcester - Wedding Dress Alterations
I went to Zipyard in Worcester for my wedding dress alterations. I had wonderful customer service throughout my appointments. However, when I took the dress to my hotel from Zipyard I noticed the lace on the bottom of the dress was not fully attached back on. It was poorly just attached by thread. Some of the thread became very loose on the bottom of the dress which had to be cut off by a family member. There was absolutely nothing I could do about it being the night before the wedding. On the wedding day and night more and more thread was coming loose. I showed some guests so they could try and give me some support and they said it was just really poorly worked on. This put a bit of a dampener on my wedding, but we still had a nice day.
Zero stars for Stretford Tesco's Zip…
Zero stars for Stretford Tesco's Zip Yard. A ripped jeans was £16, took a week, and on the day he was only just repairing it and he did a crummy job. I have to take it onward elsewhere to stop the shoddy work from coming undone again as he didn't want to hear my request for additional work on what was already poorly done.
Professional tailoring and repairs with friendly staff
I have taken in two formal suits for alterations, each has been done to an excellent standard. From advising what requires to be done, the way the tailoring has been carried out to the friendly staff has made it a pleasant experience. I will use them again and confidently recommend them to others.
I took in jeans which had deep pockets…
I took in jeans which had deep pockets and holes. At the bottom. Instead of repairing professionally. I got back jeans that have very small pockets. I can’t even put my phone in my front jeans pockets. Also one hole was not repaired at the top end of the pocket. It had a pin 📍 inside
When i put my hand in. I was lucky I didn’t cut my hand. Also when I collect my things i had wait 15 minutes before they could find my order. Very poor experience. Definitely wouldn’t go back EVER. Allerton Rd liverpool.
Zip yard Liverpool
Zip yard Liverpool: Allerton Road-
Took 2 dresses to Zip yard to shorten 20/04/23. Payed for this on the day before they start the work. On return one dress had big mark on back, and I told them this was a brand new dress and had zero marks when brought it in. Seamstress claimed she didn’t know where the mark came from and I must have worn it. I told them that’s impossible as how can I wear a dress when its brand new (too long to wear) and was sitting in their store. So the Owner called Ian, decided to dry clean it. On 20/05/23 I went back to pick this dress after dry cleaning, and the mark had not come out.
Ian (the owner) falsely started to accuse me of bringing in a 2nd hand dress, claiming i told the seamstress it was 2 nd hand (i never buy 2nd hand due to having sensitive skin) and they took zero responsibility for it.
The store also has no check mark lists to say if clothing has any marks or burns etc before giving to them in order to prevent such situations. In addition, the owner (Ian) never gave an answer when asked if he has business liability insurance:
He probably doesn’t which is why he got so defensive. He started turning red, sweaty and visibly shaking.
What is so disturbing is that instead of resolving this, he tried to push and bully me and my friend out of the store by standing inches away from us towering over and telling us to get out of his store. Extremely Disgusting, unprofessional and exceptionally rude behaviour. I have found out since that at least 4 other female friends of mine have experienced his arrogant and rude behaviour & said they will never set foot into that store.
Awful customer experience
Awful customer experience, paid £25.00 to repair a zip. Every time I wore the item the zip would start to undo from the bottom. I took the item back and the guy basically Patronised me, showing me how to do a zip up correctly. I have had this item for years and never had a problem and at the grand old age of 42 I am fully able to do my own zip up without guidance 🤣 In the end I walked out. Will find some place else to repair.

Ruined my football shirt
Took a football shirt to Zip Yard in Chester at the beginning of January, and requested a new collar to be put on it. Provided a photo of work required to be done. Staff accepted job. Owner also called me back to confirm and advise price would be £45. I agreed to this.
Week after week,no progress. I went into the shop 4 or 5 times to be told they were waiting for new material...and it would be done by the end of the week.
Then the shop unexpectedly shut down in February, with no notice or communication, taking the shirt with them.
I was later contacted by the shop (franchise) owner in March, to be told they'd do the job and it would cost £55.
I reminded them £45 had been agreed.
On March 22nd the owner then sent a photo to me of the work they'd done. It showed it was not done correctly. The collar put on was completely wrong, and it was obvious it could not be corrected.
On both 24th and 30th March I told the owner I would not be paying and requested the return of my shirt...I am still awaiting a reply...and no sign of the now spoilt shirt.
I do not recommend this business.
Thanks for ruining the shirt.
An expensive woollen Harris tweed…
An expensive woollen Harris tweed jacket was extensively damaged by moths leaving both large and small holes. We saw the zipyard franchise in Toton Tesco Nottingham and asked about repairs, the lady we spoke to went the extra mile helping to find and mark the holes. It was a specialist job but my word the result was astonishing, and at a reasonable cost, I have a jacket I can wear again I’d give them 10 stars if possible for the friendly, knowledgeable and very professional staff and service
