Guy is entertaining. He explains whatever it is (procedures, concepts, technology, etc.) with passion and sometimes humor. It might be something one already knows or suspected to be true, but Guy huma... See more

The course that I took helped me to recognize my weaknesses in music theory and composition.
The course that I took helped me to better recognize my weaknesses in my understanding of music theory and composition. It helped me focus on what I should study in order to become a better composer. The course also enlightened me on the challenges of composition using a DAW with sound libraries vs. my old school ways of pencil and manuscript score paper. A much different approach indeed.
Second to None
Although in a video format it felt very interactive - almost like a one on one experience. And the access to experts is second to none. Brilliant!
Another excellent short course
I've done several of these short courses from ThinkSpace and all of them I have found extremely useful and informative.
This latest course was an Introduction To Mixing, which is something I knew very little about beyond some basic tutorials on YouTube. I'm now pleased to say that I've learned a lot, and making real progress in mixing my own home studio recordings.
My memory is not that great, so being able to go back and review any of the tutorial modules I personally find invaluable.
Sampled Orchstration
I’ve enrolled in many ThinkSpace courses. Recently I started Sample Orchestration. Great course and I like the way Guy demonstrates the various aspects in practice and not in a theoretical way. I have some experience with orchestral samples but the course helps me clarify things like the use of articulations and dynamics and be able to apply them in my music.
Five Stars!!!
Getting back into Music
Im doing 5 courses with limited time so this works perfect,, been filling in the blanks from what I didn't really get in school and the things I forgot. getting back into writing music and playing after a 40 year hiatus ...
Wonderful teacher easy to understand…
Wonderful teacher easy to understand learning so much.
Great contnuing education for post grads and career music composers.
Being able to continue with the course even after completing it. It's important to go back and use it as a reference for further growth and improvement.
The ThinkspaceEducation courses are great
I have almost all the short courses in my library since month and years by now. Guy is a natural and manages to teach and entertain with ease in one go. I feel very comfortable in his courses - whether it's music theory or orchestration.
Although some of the content could be updated a bit, I don't know of a better school. Guy and his team cater to the needs of working professionals. I myself determine the workload that I can manage alongside my other life - that alone is great!
To the point
To the point, and covering all the basics of mixing with examples. Great!
Excellent and inspiring.
Excellent course material, charismatic and inspirational instructor with a vast knowledge of the subject.
You didn’t know music theory could actually be fun
Guy has a fantastic ability to make something potentially dry and a bit boring into something fun and interesting. Can recommend it for everyone.

I love the course I booked and would also take more. But I'm very fully booked at the moment and can't always find the time for it. But I will finish it soon. Guy Michelmore does it simply fantastically. He is a great inspiration! Keep it up!
This is an excellent beginner or…
This is an excellent beginner or refresher course on music theory. Guy’s exceptional talent and excellent teaching guides the student through the course. Thank you, Guy, for helping me regain my love of music.
Music Theory Explained
As with all ThinkSpace courses taught by working professionals, a thorough comprehensive course.
It even teaches you how to play the piano.
The entertaining value of the videos is worth the money alone.
I have spent years teaching myself and…
I have spent years teaching myself and using YouTube and other sources on the internet to learn how to engineer audio. I took the Intro to Mixing course and it took my mixes from amateur at best, to competing with professional quality. This is no joke, if you pay attention and write notes and put into practice, you WILL be a better mix engineer.
I am now on the Music Theory course, and Guy is a gem. All the teachers are absolute gems. I will be buying the Orchestral for Game Music course soon, single best place I have found for learning techniques needed for competing in the musical marketplace.
Please make sub groups of students..
I'm sorry to tell you that the "everybody in the same video call" teaching method does not work for me at all... I do realize that the level of experience varies a lot from student to student but the classes do not succeed in providing a course that kept me motivated. It can be frustrating for some more experienced students to deal with others who lack experience. At times, the difference was just too extreme.. Although Guy and his team are super friendly, I learned more from other free You Tube channels than from this course. Maybe they should divide the group in different sub groups according to the level of experience. I have submitted two musical works for this course, after many weeks I had to remind them to get some feedback, not very motivating. The pre-recorded video courses however are very nice, though also aimed at people with no experience at all. I wish Thinkspace all the best!

Learn music Theory - if you haven't you should...!
I have just completed the Learn Music Theory course and I would recommend it to anyone who either hasn't done any before or only has a basic understanding. It changed pretty much everything about the way I create music - should have done theory years ago...! Guy presents it in an easy to digest format and keeps you entertained as he works. Have already invested in further courses.
Never too old to learn…
What I found about this course was things were made easy to understand and even easier to learn as compared to 40 years ago as methods then were much different compared to today
