I bought The Harley Benton SC-500 WH Vintage Series a few weeks ago. Everything is great with it. I'm really enjoying it. While it was very playable straight out of the box, It needed a very simple... See more

I’m in the UK and have placed many orders with Thomann De over the last 4 years or so. Never had an issue or problem. Latest order delivered today. It was ontime and what I received was exactly what was ordered. All well packaged and at a decent price. Cannot fault. Will use again.
RMA 4649437R
No refund 1 month after dropping off.
They charged me £26 for international return shipping from the UK to German, which is fine. But they are not using parcel companies like DHL or UPS which deliver within a few days. They are using their own logistic, so your returns basically go to their logistic depot and it's been a month without any news. This is cheating, you can't charge a normal international shipping rate but save money by using your own logistics and holding customers' money for a month. I will report this behavior to trading standard if I don't hear from you within a day. It's not small money. Please stay away and just buy from KMR, Studiocare, Sx pro
What A WASTE OF TIME. Ordered a set of speakers and a subwoofer. (Speakers were available in 2-5 days). After a full payment (WIRED), I receive an email where they claim that THE ONLY MISSING PART (for my order) are the speakers. No big problem, let's wait a bit. Here is where the charade begins: after weeks with no update, I contact them asking where the missing speakers are... "We have a date given by the supplier but we cannot confirm it". Like, you cannot phone your supplier and ask when a product will be available? This is nonsense. More weeks go by and after another false promise about the speaker I discover the best part: now, my order is also missing the subwoofer because they didn't reserve mine (even if it was already paid in full). After a ton of unacceptable excuses (such as "we don't reserve items if they are not paid for... ops check the beginning of this review), I asked for a refund for the entire order. At least, that was processed LOL. Better look for a different supplier which is offering same products at the same price... Just a bit more seriously.
BTW: after a month, the speakers are not available yet and they basically lied about availability dates at least three times.
I returned an item over 6 weeks ago, I have proof it was delivered but still waiting for a refund.
Customer service says it's because of COVID, Brexit, Customs, Couriers, etc. They have not been useful at all. Very keen to sell you something, not so keen to refund.
It's not a small amount of money either.
Needless to say, I wouldn't trust them again.
I've had a few years of buying from Thomann, mostly successful....but In June I ordered an ableton controller which arrived faulty...it simply was not useable in any way....Thomann understandably required proof it was not working which I supplied in the form of photos and videos. then I packaged the product in the original packaging for return following the (somewhat complicated) instructions to the letter and posted it back on the understanding I would receive my refund. a few months later...there was still no refund and after along stream of emails discovered that Thomann had refused to accept delivery but did not state the precise reason as to why they had refused or what I needed to do rectify the situation...simply...follow the instructions (which I had already carefully done on the first attempt)...rather than notifying me that there was a problem...they simply sent it back (around the world) by which time I had move country and was not in a position to receive it.... So with an overly complicated return process, a wholly unhelpful customer service writing nonsensical emails for the most part, it was quite clear that Thomann have made their return and refund process prohibitively difficult...to the point of impossible. From my experience...when the order goes smoothly it is fine...but when you encounter a problem like faulty goods...it is quite clear that Thomann couldn't care less about the customer and they will send your round in emails circles until you give up...which I now have...they have their money and they are going to hold on to it...so I am 220GBP out of pocket as a result of this purchase...I will do my music gear shopping elsewhere from now on....but I guess Thomann are a big enough company to not give a ****...so they dont!
I ordered an Audio Interface.
Due to missing the delivery, the package then took 7 weeks to work it’s way back to Thomann, then instead of sending me the item and without consulting me, they refunded my money.
This company was always my first port of call for any pro audio equipment, but after my experience, I can’t trust then to deliver my item, so I won’t be using them anymore.
First class service bought a electro acoustic guitar, was cheapest price on the market compared to the other online stores , I wasn’t happy with the first one , and they replaced it within a week, very good company and quick and efficient customer service ,first class experience, from a first time buyer.Highly recommended
Horrible experience so far. Bought an item which had to be returned under their 30 day returns policy. I sent the item to the address in the UK they gave me on 20 July. It arrived there on 27 July. I chased this on 18 Aug to be told that the item had not yet turned up in Germany because of 'the Brexit'. Its now 30 Aug and still no refund. Phenomenally terrible service and apparently I will have to pay a customs charge for sending the item back. There was no mention of my item being dispatched from Germany when I bought it or that the return would have to be sent to Germany and I would incur a customs charge. The website and addresses they give you make it look like they are trading from the UK. Do not fall into the trap I fell into - buy from a genuine UK supplier instead.
Very rude and nonsense speaking customer service has lost them 1000s of pounds in me and my students. Quibbling over a return for £18 which is their fault in the first place. Plenty more shops to by from
I just bought a stunning matrixbrute from thomann, came fast, took only 5 working days, I had only one issue, that you can't track parcel from thomman warehouse through Germany ect, I could only track it once parcel was in the uk. None the less I'm ecstatic with my purchase. I've used thomman longer than any other site, they are always excellent and any issues get sorted fast. They were super busy and did respond to my emails, bit slow but responded and kept me informed. I still rate them the best site for music equipment.they are by far cheapest site for music equipment. If you could track from warehouse in Germany I'd give 5 stars all day, there are reviews that moan about thomman but they are mostly to do with leaving Europe ad that was out of thier control. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM, I buy ALL my high end synths and everything in beyween from them, ps they sell amazing quality thomman synth a keyboard and mixer ect stretch covers they superb quality and low price. Thomman are still no1 in my eyes. A HAPPY LONGTERM CUSTOMER.
Slooooow delivery. Says 3 to 5 days to deliver on the item when I ordered. Apparently it's going to take least 8 days rendering the item useless to me. I was met with a rude, disinterested telephonist when I phoned.
Horrible experience. Never again.
An item was sent to me and it was lost in shipping, they sent a second item which I received but then I also received the original item. I had paid customs on both. 2 months later I get an email asking me to return the items at my expense, now it has been over 7 months since purchase date and they have sent debt collection agency to harass me. Very disgusting behaviour.
Great choice of own brand stuff at amazing prices.
I bought pre brexit so can’t speak for now a days.
But I received updates on my package and received it within 2 weeks of ordering.
I ordered it more than ten times and had to wait a little longer to prepare my package but I always bought it without any problems. Thank you
Greetings from Hungary.
I ordered an ocarina from Thomann last week as a first time customer. I found them to be extremely communicative and they processed my order extremely efficiently, so I have no complaints about the company as they were incredibly efficient.
I think one of the issues that I haven't had that a lot of other reviews are mentioning is the custom's duty. My ocarina was £33 alone with £8 delivery and £6.60 VAT. The VAT for the products is not included in the listing of the prices, but they make this very clear so if you read things carefully and properly then you won't miss this. I totaled £47.60, meaning that I was under the £135 limit, so for anyone seeing reviews about additional custom's duty fees, if you are buying a smaller item worth under this value with VAT and delivery combined, then the order value displayed to you at the checkout is the order value that you will pay.
Thomann were also very descriptive about my ocarina (for any others wishing to purchase ocarinas from them), and everything that they listed is absolutely true. The range and key are identical to the listing, and it is the exact product that I ordered -- it came packaged extremely safely and thus did not break.
The only problem that I had with my delivery was the courier. They use UPS, so I think that just about covers my point. My delivery was held back by two days due to complications in the euro tunnel, but it arrived one day earlier than the delay date, so I can't complain too much. The box itself was obviously a little bit baffled and ruffled, but it is UPS that we're talking about so that was to be expected.
The shipping invoice in the box was also incredibly thorough, which pleased me a lot, should I have wanted to return the ocarina. The invoice itself that you receive via email is also so incredibly thorough that I didn't really think twice about how thorough it was. The email invoice provides you with absolutely literally everything, it is honestly baffling. As a teenager used to ordering from cheap and inefficient companies, this pleased me a lot more than it probably should have but I still appreciated it.
So if you are European (I'm in England jfr) and looking for an ocarina to purchase, Thomann is a great option. Many ocarina companies like Songbird and STL are based in the US, which can be very inconvenient and expensive. If you want to try and slip under the additional customs tax mark, then due to the great pricing of Thomann I would highly recommend them. They have a really impressive range of ocarina, and I would highly recommend purchasing one from them. The songbooks that accompany the ocarina are predominantly in German though, although there are some English parts to accompany them. I'm a German student, so fortunately I can comprehend the majority of what the guide book is saying. There is a LOT of information on how to learn the ocarina online, so if you are struggling with a language barrier than I would highly encourage you to look up YouTube videos or print off guides for physical use.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone either looking to purchase an ocarina, buying with a total of product, VAT & delivery under £135, or someone who is content with paying over the £135 + additional customs charges. The company are incredibly efficient, the only downfall is the courier. From what I have seen in these reviews, they seem to be considerably more efficient with lower value products, so that is definitely something to consider. I am overall very thankful for their efficiency, and potentially look forward to buying from them in the future (preferably in person as I am a German student and wish to travel a lot more to Germany, and I believe that it would be a more pleasurable experience without UPS).
I've bought quite a few items from Thomann over the years, and have always had a fast delivery and great prices.
This time was no exception. Ordered a set of Pearly Gates humbuckers and a transmitter system for my Les Paul, and was very satisfied with the purchase.
Not so keen on the import tax now, though - so thanks for that, all you Brexit clowns. Not going as well as you'd hoped, is it...
Fantastic service by Thomann. I bought a pedal not found anywhere, but Thomann kept stock. It arrived quickly as indicated, and I have been rocking with the pedal during the lockdown.
DO NOT BUY FROM THOMANN. They cost me £51 and hours of my time going back and forth.
My item took over a month to arrive so I cancelled my order (as advised by them) and re-ordered the item elsewhere.
They failed to cancel my order (after they said they would) and the item was delivered anyway leaving me with a £51 non-refundable import fee. They refused to reimburse me and continually tried to blame me for accepting the parcel.
Absolutely awful customer service - do not buy from this company.
What an absolute disaster. I returned an effects pedal for a refund. Thomann wont refund the money and wont reply to emails. The 30 day money back guarantee is a not true. no refund, no replies.
UK sellers beware!!! It's been two months since I returned my item and still waiting for a refund.
Also be aware of hidden import charges thanks to brexit.
Dealing with thomann is not what it used to be, thanks to poor customer service and brexit. Just buy from the UK now, it works out cheaper after import charges and is much less hassle.
