I’ve been a customer of Thonk for about 6 years and they’re consistently great. They recently went above and beyond to help supply parts to finish a university project. Packaging is always great, website is easy to use. Friendly people too, they’ve even advised me on projects in the past.

Firstly ignore the lunatic negative so called 'reviews' Thonk are just amazing!
They sell DIY synth/modular kit at great prices.
I've ordered loads of kits from them and and each has been faultless!
Their postage costs are fair and delivery is always prompt.
Their support is second to none. I've always had friendly replies to my questions.
So, I can say, based on my experience, you'll have zero problems ordering your projects from Thonk.
You can save lots of money building your own modules.

I've bought a few things from Think, and most recently I forgot to add on a small item to an order, so emailed and asked to add it. The response was super fast, I followed instructions and they upgraded my delivery (I'd chosen the super slow because I'm stingy) to 24hr, which was a lovely surprise for my Saturday morning. Really happy, will be ordering again

Having recently discovered Thonk. All I can say. Is that I am blown away by them. GREAT Company to deal with. Exceptional customer service and technical help. A total pleasure to do business with and will doing so again. Three orders placed in the last few days. ALL despatched same day and received the next day. Cannot rate highly enough.

Thonk are a great retailer - stocking parts quite often hard to find, or hard to find in this country, reducing the time it takes to get the parts and complete your projects :) Very cool business to have very local to me.

I have used Thonk for years; I must have built well over 50 modules from there, from PCBs, full DIY kits, etc. as well as huge numbers of other components and accessories. It is astounding that not once, with hundreds and hundreds of unique items, they have *never* mis-packed anything, or sent something close, but incorrect. When an error is with something from a third party, their support always own the matter and work in a three way conversation to resolve it. Absolutely flawless.

Order was left at front door and pinched, which I provided video proof of. As far as assistance from seller goes I was met with total disinterest and indifference bordering on plain rude and emails were just repeatedly replied to with the same “report it to the police” one sentence email answer. As I never paid the postage I can’t claim for this with the RM only the sender can. Luckily it was low value. I had to file with PayPal who will no doubt just look at the tracking and do nothing else.

I tried this company as I’d heard great things about them. So if you’re happy with ordering something and if it gets left outside and stolen then you just deal with the loss try them out. If you want decent customer service with a company who values their customers I’d suggest somewhere else. I bought from a Uk company as opposed to a cheaper Chinese company as I think we should support local business, now I wish I hadn’t bothered. This has gone on for almost 4 weeks. I’m just writing this and Thonk! Off.

UPDATE As you can see below the retailer has replied with accusations of aggression on my part. This is a total fabrication. I also told the seller that things have gone missing in area the past if the courier is stupid enough to leave the item on a public footpath or on a few feet from a public street.

Thanks for showing that not only is your customer service poor you are only willing to provide a decent response when someone leaves a negative review. Sadly you felt the need to lie in that reply in a clear effort to paint me as an aggressive person and you also misrepresented what happened in the incident. It seems the other negative reviews about your company is completely accurate.

For the complete transparency I ordered on the 16th of June, the delivery should have been on the 10th and after 12 attempts to fix this with Thonk! We are now at the 24th. So I have given them plenty of opportunity to deal with this. Only to be met with lies from the company after leaving this review.

I know things can go wrong sometimes however And a good measure of a company is how they deal with something like this. Truly terrible customer service.

AS PREVIOUS REVIEWER STATED THEY HAVE ALSO ATTEMPTED TO CLAIM THAT I’VE NEVER BEEN A CUSTOMER OF THEIRS TO GET THIS REVIEW REMOVED. DESPITE HAVING RESPONDED TO THIS AND PREVIOUSLY CLAIMING I’VE BEEN AGGRESSIVE TO THEM OVER THIS.

To be honest it’s right on brand with my experience so far with this lot. I’m the one who paid for something and got nothing in return but grief, lies and the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The only thing they’ve put any effort into is prolonging this and making it an even worse experience by trying to have the review removed and now claiming I have never bought from them.

I have made several orders with Thonk from the US and they ship FAST and pretty inexpensively via FedEx. Like, three business days fast. Great kits, great service, respond quickly to emails!
