Extremely disappointing experience with Thornley Groves Chester - Garden City, Deeside.

We travelled 130 miles for a scheduled viewing, only to arrive and be told the agent didn’t have the keys. Despite explaining how far we had travelled, there was no real effort to resolve the situation, leaving us with hours wasted and fuel costs for nothing.

We then arranged a second appointment, with 5 properties confirmed the day before. When we arrived after travelling another 130 miles, we were told only 2 had actually been booked in. The agent had no idea we were expecting to view 5. We were then told the other 3 had apparently been let around an hour before our appointment, so there was supposedly “no time” to tell us. We found out only after arriving.

After two wasted 130-mile journeys, we wanted to make a formal complaint and have our concerns heard by a manager. After several attempts, we discovered the estate agent we had been dealing with was actually the manager. We were then told the complaint about the manager’s conduct would be handled by… the manager herself. Absolutely bonkers.

Unsurprisingly, the complaint came back as “no further action.”

The whole experience was incredibly frustrating and showed a complete lack of communication, organisation and accountability. Would not recommend.

Viewed a property with Kelly from Thornley Groves Estate Agents in Monton yesterday and must congratulate her for such a professional viewing! Kelly was so friendly and her knowledge of the property was excellent, she answered everything I needed to know, offered me a second viewing whenever suited me!

Herbert Chong has managed our rental property for the past year. He has dealt promptly and efficiently with problems that have arisen and responded to our queries in a timely fashion. When we took back our property (in order to sell it) we found it in an acceptable state with only a few small repairs needed.

We have been using Thornleygrove have provided the beat services . We have been using them for 6 years and found they always sort situations quickly and efficiently.

Herbert Chong is always very reliable to respond to emails and he is always very approachable and friendly to answer questions. I can very much recommend his work.

Met the team in April and connected with Daniel straightaway. I was selling my house after a bad rental experience due hugely to the Lettings Estate Agents, so I didn't have a lot of faith.

The process to sell was not all smooth due to factors outside the Thornley's and my control, however what was different was the support and honest discussions I could have with both Daniel and Clare (Ellie was great too).

The staff at Thornley made the difference because of how accessible they were, I am abroad and so WhatsApp is my preferred method of communication and Daniel and co got this. Other companies refuse to engage in a practical and economic way today.

Thank you all, the sale completed yesterday and I have woke up feeling relief for the first time in 22 months!
