We recently purchased a flat with an existing tenant in it and we as the new owner needs a lot of advice on how to manage this property, Herbert Chong as our client relationship manager smoothly took over and guided us through the whole process - he is ever so patient with our questions, pointed us to the right directions re various issues and he is so good at what he does as he has an answer for every question and always understanding and reassuring. He is a true asset to TG, with Herbert’s professional and personal skills, he can win all business and we have no hesitation to leave our flat in his good hands. I must also mention Herbert’s amazing Chinese skills has really helped bridging a lot of cultural gaps - I can only imagine how lucky for TG to have staff like Herbert, a very rare asset for an ever growing Chinese customer market! We rely on you Herbert and please don’t leave! :-D

1 star — Avoid at all costs
We moved into our property managed by Thornley Groves City Centre and from day one it has been an absolute nightmare. Despite clearly communicating our move-in date requirements beforehand, we were forced into a start date that didn't work for us and arrived to find the property in a disgusting, uncleaned state — in direct breach of our tenancy agreement. We have photographic evidence of everything.
Since moving in we have raised multiple serious issues including no hot water, a corroded and neglected water tank, and not receiving the parking fob for our allocated space which is written into our contract. We have sent numerous emails and attempts to contact them and have been met with complete silence every time.
The property was clearly not inspected or prepared before we moved in and the level of care shown towards tenants once you've signed is non-existent. Basic legal obligations under the tenancy agreement are being ignored and we are now considering escalating to The Property Ombudsman and Manchester City Council's Environmental Health department.
If you're considering renting through Thornley Groves City Centre, think very carefully. Once they have your signature and your money, you are on your own.

Avoid this management company if you value basic maintenance, communication, or respect as a tenant.
I’ve spent over a month chasing the same issues and have received nothing but promises, excuses, and delays. Emails are ignored, repairs are postponed, and nobody seems interested in actually fixing anything.
The oven is literally melting. The frame and buttons are showing heat damage, and hot air leaks out while it’s being used. This was reported multiple times and still hasn’t been properly dealt with.
Electrical faults remain unresolved despite being reported weeks ago. The mould issue got so bad that I ended up cleaning it myself because waiting for management to do their job was clearly pointless.
The privacy issue has been just as bad. I live on the ground floor and people can see directly into my flat. There has been construction work outside for over a month, meaning random workers have been able to look straight into my home every day. Despite repeated complaints, nothing has been done.
What frustrates me most is the complete lack of accountability. Every email gets the same response: “We’re looking into it” or “We’ll arrange this soon.” Then nothing happens.
After more than a month of being ignored, it honestly feels like this company only cares about collecting rent and not about the wellbeing of its tenants.
