I was delivered the wrong item

I was delivered the wrong item. I got someone else's bench. I am still waiting for my desk.
They are resolving my issue, though, and I truly appreciate their quick responses. We understand mistakes are made! Thank you!

Real deal

I just bought three beautiful lighting fixtures from this company. They responded promptly to email and even called me at my request to answer a question. Lights were marked in stock and all three were well packaged, looked great, and arrived within a week. Note that all three were marked in stock. Ordering any item that requires things be manufactured and shipped from another country naturally will make your delivery time longer and less predictable. That is to be expected. I am very pleased with this company and the products.

Customer service great - thanks Amelia

Customer service by Amelia was quick and efficent. Had a really bad delivery experience (with the courier, not the company themselves) and was very satisfied with the prompt and fair response. The product itself is really lovely as well!

Stolen Images from Poly & Bark

Thorvald Design is currently using copyrighted product images stolen directly from Poly & Bark. These images were taken without permission, credit, or compensation. We have documented the infringement in full and have initiated DMCA takedown proceedings.
Buyers and business partners should be aware: this company does not respect intellectual property. If they steal from us, what does that say about how they operate?
This will not go unaddressed.

I was so excited to get the 6 chairs I…

I was so excited to get the 6 chairs I bought . The “vegan” chairs I ordered couldn’t be lower quality . It’s the bottom of the bottom has far has vegan leather . You just look at it and know it is going to rip. I attempted to assembled 4 out of the chairs and the holes did not aligned by ALOT.
Emailed customer service , I have to pay for my own shipping back to them even tho the item is defective .
Stay away. Pretty website . Very low quality quality products and customer service

Customer service and communication is impressive

I have 3 Norman counter stools on order. Thorvald & Design was very up front regarding the time to fill the order and give regular updates on the progress. Today I reached out to customer service as I have moved and wished to give my new address. Kate replied back, same day, and made the change. What a positive experience. I'll be back with a review of the stools!

Beyond Disappointed: Five-Month Wait Ended in Cancellation

What went wrong this time?
The primary issue was a massive discrepancy between the promised timeline and reality. I placed my order (#TVD21604) for counter stools on December 19, 2025, with an initial 6-week delivery estimate. Despite follow-ups in February and April, the order remained in production for months. By mid-April, four months after the purchase, the shipping date was pushed back again to May 11, 2026. Ultimately, I had to request a cancellation because the company failed to meet multiple revised deadlines.

How can this company improve?
Realistic Lead Times: Provide accurate initial estimates instead of a "6-week" timeframe that inevitably stretches to five months.Proactive

Communication: Instead of me reaching out for updates after deadlines pass, the company should proactively notify customers of production delays.

Operational Efficiency: Fix the "unforeseen production issues" that are clearly causing significant backlogs for many customers

What's important for people to know?
Be prepared for extreme delays that may last several months beyond the initial quote. While the customer service team is polite and offers small gestures like extended warranties or partial refunds, they cannot seem to provide a definitive delivery date. If you need your furniture by a specific date, this may not be the reliable choice.

I ordered a design chair that should…

I ordered a design chair that should have been covered by a genuine black leather. There wasno black leather but an artificial black polyurethane cover. On top of that, the furniture cannot be assembled because there are some defaults. I hope the customer servise will sort out the return without problems, but so far I have a quality problem.
