My purchase of a made-to-measure, heavy-duty shed from Timber Building timberbuilding.com
I visited their yard in Garstang and was satisfied with the initial service, leading me to place an order. The shed, which cost approximately £1,400 for a 9x4 size, was delivered partially made with a floor, four sides and a two-part roof.
The issues began when I discovered missing parts and found that the doorframe had been fitted out of square, which prevented the door from fitting properly.
I contacted the sales manager (Glen Brady) by phone. Initially, he was defensive and unwilling to listen. After insisting, I agreed to send photos and a video of the problems. We agreed that some wood trim was missing and that it would be delivered within a week. I was satisfied with this resolution for the missing pieces.
However, he claimed the wood was wet and had changed due to the weather. I explained that the wood had not been wet and had been sealed with three layers of clear Ozmo sealer before assembly. I also sent a clear video showing the doorframe, which had been fixed out of square by them prior to delivery.
I received no response to these videos, and the promised missing pieces were never delivered. I am left with a shed that has missing parts and an out-of-square doorframe, which I will now have to plane down myself to make the door fit.
Overall, I experienced terrible after-sales service. If you are considering purchasing from this company, I would advise extreme caution regarding their statements and agreements, as their word cannot be trusted. I sincerely hope you do not require their after-sales support.
