Excellent to work with, especially as I needed to create a channel which left only 5mm of wood on each side. All cuts and chiselling were successful without damaging the timber, so I feel that the wood is easy to work, so much better softwood and good value for money too. Do bear in mind that being a hardwood it needs very sharp saws and chisels when working it. Overall, Far Eastern Meranti is an excellent wood which I would have no hesitation in buying again.
