Timeleft brings groups of 6 strangers together every week. No profiles, no swiping, no planning. We handle the details. You handle the showing up. When you book with Timeleft, we handle the venue, the group, and getting everyone there at the same time. You show up, meet your people, and enjoy the experience. I’ve gone to three so far and booked my fourth for this week. I think it’s great fun to meet new people and try out new restaurants. I have found the people to be as adventurous as I am and the restaurants quite good. My only negative is that I’m supposed to be part of a 6 person dinner and so far we were 7 then 4 then 5.

I've done two Timeleft dinners so far and I found both very enjoyable. In both cases the conversation flowed, we shared laughs, and the group continued the conversation in the bar afterward. I also got invited by someone in each group to meet up independently.

I think Timeleft is an incredible concept and have had overall a great experience with it. Met fabulous people, some of whom I'm still in touch with, and even when I haven't it just feels good to get out of my routine and connect with other humans.
That being said, Timeleft I really hope you read this review!! because as a current user there's a couple of things that could really make this app better for everyone:
1. Announcing the restaurant before the cancellation window. What if I know the restaurant has terrible food? what if I've had a bad experience there? Or, I've seen a lot of reviews here and on reddit mention not having a match with dietary preferences. Users should not have to reach out to and heckle Timeleft for a restaurant change (which they only get told the night before), instead there should be an option to see the restaurant within the cancellation window. I understand the concept relies on not knowing WHO you're dining with, but it's unfair to not know WHERE you're dining before you can cancel.
2. All the dinners I went to had more people than the 6 person limit that is advertised. The app has to be aware when it's grouping more than 6 people right? Please notify users if this happens as it's actually incredibly unfair and overwhelming for introverts and/or anxious people to walk into a dinner and see more people than they were expecting. That notification can be the difference between being mentally prepared vs surprised and overwhelmed at dinner.
Thank you! :)

I have had a really nice experience with the group of strangers I had dinner with. The food was delicious as well. Would recommend!

People were pleasant. Conversation flowed. We played “Who Said True”(google it) and heard some fun stories.

I really enjoyed mu first Timeleft dinner. The restaurants was nice and I met interesting people at my table. I am looking forward to go to more Timeleft dinners soon!

It was a first great experience. I like the people that were at the table, and we connected quite nicely.
We were 7 at the table...probably this was the only way we could be allocated and i was the unfortunate one siting in the corner of the table, but to be hones, i am not sure who i would have left out of the group, so i am happy we connected.
The restaurant was ok (not necersarly a 5 star) but for me the experience is more about conecting with people than the choice of the restaurant.
Looking forward to use it abroad as well, as this was the main reason why i installed it and used it locally in the first place 😊

I never thought it could be that easy to meet new and interesting people around my age. They were equally interested in sharing ideas thoughts and experiences and potentially making new friends. Time Left makes it easy and fuss free and I had the best time.

It was nice meeting new people and I will definitely attend another session. The restaurant was beautiful, but I would NOT want to return. It was very high priced for what you got. $55/pp and I had about 8 tablespoons of food; mostly pureed and finely diced veggies (no substance). It tasted good, but so not worth the price. If another meetup goes to a different restaurant, I'll be there. But if it's this same restaurant, I'll cancel.

Zero customer service. I submitted a customer service request. No response (now more than a week later). But they did email me within 48 hours after my request to ask how satisfied I was with their response.
What was my issue? Everywhere they talk about how you'll meet 5 other people. I've gone 3 times. First two times were fine. Easy conversations but no real friendship connections (and that's not Timeleft's responsibility) - they did what was promised ... connected 6 people for dinner.
Third time there were 2 other people. There's a huge difference in the dynamic between 3 people vs 6 people at a table. If I knew it was only 3 of us, I would have canceled (plus - they promise 6).
Additionally - they complete disregard the price range for restaurant. I selected the least expensive and we still ended up at an expensive place (and I know the difference in my city - nobody would consider this one budget). I would have preferred to cancel and reschedule. But at a minimum, I'd like a refund on my fee I paid to Timeleft. That's not happening because they ignored my customer service request.
I'm canceling my service and deleting the app.

Great idea but every diner so far has had a important majority of women (5 for the 1st dinner and all women are the other diners)

I went for one meal which was ok (they really have no idea about the restaurants by the looks of it). The second one they allocated me to was a steak house, yet I stated vegetarian as my preference. The steak house had barely any vegetarian options. I complained and they reallocated me immediately the day before the meal, then less than 3 hours before the meal they again allocated me to the same steak house! This time I had enough and asked for a full refund. I received the refund and not a single apology for what happened nor the inconvenience.

Simple and easy, worth going back. I only wish they had more cocktail mixers in wicker park and that they did a better job ensuring the bar was close to the restaurant.

I had this on my radar for a while, and when I moved to a new city in Europe, I finally took a chance. It was worth it! The people in my group were very nice. There was zero awkward silence, and we actually connected later through the app to meet up again.

Really nice people and a great dinner! Already signed up for a second one!

The concept is fantastic. Take a group of strangers, put them together for dinner at a place they likely have not previously visited, feed them discussion topics, and just see where it heads. I can quibble about the occasional restaurant in my city that eschews parking for their patrons, but the experience itself is routinely a joy. Note that I chose a date for this, but I’ve enjoyed this enough to have participated over a dozen times.

Seldom does an instagram ad captivate me, let alone prompt me to act. At first I was skeptical but now I've gone more times than I can remember. Trying TimeLeft is something I'd recommend to anyone at least once. I've made lifelong connects and found some nice restaurants as well. I've made more than enough friends now but I'll likely continue to use it from time to time.

I had a great time meeting 7 interesting and friendly people in Durham, NC. The food and service at the restaurant, Mother and Son's Trattoria, were very good and they accommodated separate checks, which was a real bonus! I didn't receive an opportunity to meet any of the participants again, which I had heard would be part of the follow-up. I'm planning to attend again, despite that the closest city available is about 90 minutes away. I've recommended Timeleft to several people since my first dinner.

I took a chance to go out and have dinner with 5 strangers. It was great! Met 5 kind, nice and friendly people which I would gladly like to meet again. The restaurant and bar they picked was also nice. Good job Timeleft 👍🏾 and thank you.

It’s not perfect, but it’s better than anything else I’ve seen including meet up.
If you can make one connection at out of the potential 12 people that are there then I think it’s a win.
Some observations after two events.
Not every restaurant is going to be conducive to conversation. Some restaurants don’t like catering too groups of people and splitting tabs.
I’m not sure if it’s my age category but people don’t usually follow up to the bar after the dinner or even willing to do something else. It seems they either they don’t have the stamina or they simply don’t find it compelling.
To summarize I have made some connections, so I think it is worthwhile. There are some refinements and hurdles to be overcome. Look forward to see what the future brings.
