While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Bugs with disk size on databases

The database keeps crashing, and when running sql queries it returns a log file full error, even though the control panel shows empty disk space.
I create a ticket once a week to have the logs cleaned up.
Don't use databases here!

AS210976

The server runs stably, but there is a major issue: Timeweb fails to maintain the reputation and clean geolocation of its IP addresses.

All IPs are issued under the autonomous system AS210976 (TWC-EU, Timeweb LLP, KZ). Although specific addresses are formally registered in RIPE as Netherlands (NL) or Germany (DE), they are widely identified as Russian. Major services including Google, YouTube, PayPal, and various banks detect the location as 'Russia' (specifically Krasnodar Krai).

This happens because the provider does not adequately monitor how AS210976 is used and refuses to replace 'polluted' IPs that are already flagged in Geo-databases as being linked to the Russian Federation. New customers receive addresses that are automatically flagged as high-risk or incorrectly localized simply because they belong to this specific AS.

As a result, legitimate users face blocks, restrictions, and denied access, even though the server is physically located in Europe.

If it is critical for your services to identify you as a non-Russian user, avoid renting a VDS from Timeweb Cloud. Their IPs might be technically in Amsterdam or Frankfurt, but in practice, they are treated as Russian.

Their VPS is useless

Their VPS is useless. There is no resource separation, so at random moments, your VPS can simply start throttling the CPU or cutting down the network.

99,98% uptime, but...

This service operates according to the SLA. And their uptime is comparable to what they claim. But, probably, when you buy such services, you hope that they will work as expected, and not as it is written on a piece of paper.

And in their piece of paper it says that DDoS relieves them of responsibility and execution of SLA. They even edited it specifically to emphasize this fact.

You probably think that this is protection against fraud, against unforeseen circumstances, and many services do this. Perhaps, if not for one interesting fact. They can give 0-10% uptime for several months, hiding behind DDoS and SLA without compensation. This is not an isolated case, throughout the year you will encounter countless short and some really long downtimes.
And at the same time, they claim DDoS protection, write heroic articles about how they defend themselves against attacks of unprecedented size and put themselves at the top of hosting services.
