After some hit and miss experiences with other companies, I'm really happy to have found Titan. Adam's work is always neat and everything is left tidy. He takes the time to explain what is happening and what the options are without being condescending, and is always happy to answer questions. Routine boiler/tank servicing is easy and thorough, with good advice on getting the most efficiency from the system. When stuff does go wrong - leaks, part failures, weird faults - Titan are responsive and can often identify a solution quickly. Repairs are methodical and intended to last, rather than rushing in quick fixes. I'm really happy with the work they've done so far, and very grateful for the advice.

I've used Adam for 4 years now, for everything from annual servicing and removing radiators for decorating, right the way through to a whole new heating system.
I would have no hesitation in recommending him, he is reliable, conscientious, friendly, helpful and the work is first class.

I'm so glad to have stumbled across Titan Heating & Plumbing Solutions. Excellent work at a competitive price. Work done includes: assorted plumbing, unvented heating system repairs, boiler replacement and servicing.

If you're looking for a friendly and helpful gas safe engineer who does great work and is reliable, stop looking, you've found him :-).

Some context:

The boiler in our 7 year old house was becoming increasingly unreliable, developing a worsening a leak over Christmas (definitely a case of throwing good money after bad). So I contacted Adam at Titan about a replacement boiler before ours packed up completely. He'd previously helped us out with minor repairs and servicing. He said he could fit us in within the week and that, issues permitting, it would take up to 2 days with a complete system flush. I was sent clear details about various boiler options and a detailed estimate.

So I got the electric heaters out ready for having no heating. I needn't have bothered! On the day he turned up exactly when he said he would and started with the system flush. This meant the heating was run at full throttle for over an additional hour, we roasted :-). When that was done, Adam set about replacing the boiler with a modern Vaillant 18Kw modulating model. This was completed by 4pm at which point the heating was back on. Adam called in a few days later just to give the boiler one last sanity check.

Unfortunately our heating system uses microbore pipework, which is notorious for getting air locks after a system flush. We had a couple of very small issues after the installation, like a radiator not heating up. When I contacted Adam he replied straight away and was very helpful giving simple and clear instructions on how to deal with these air locks, which I subsequently eliminated in minutes.

The whole job came in under the time and cost estimates. We are so please with our new boiler and the quality of the work that was done :-).

Adam has also generally done his best to keep the costs down as well. On a previous job he was let down by a supplier, who sent him the wrong part, and so he had to have a second visit to fit the correct one. However we were only charged for the first visit had that gone as planned.

Some key points:

- Whilst gas safe engineers are covered for working on all domestic gas boilers, certain manufacturers require engineers to be certified as installers with them in order to get the full manufacturer's guarantee. Thus some engineers tend to only deal with and repair boilers that they are certified for.

- Whilst Adam is manufacturer certified for installing a number of top brands of boiler, he doesn't just stick to those brands. He'll happily turn his hand to repairing other makes of boiler as well.

- Adam's preferred route is repair unless replacement makes financial and reliability sense in the long run.

- Adam is also covered for electrical work relating to heating systems and undertook repairs to our unvented tank by replacing the circuit board, wiring in the new one into our 2 zone system, and replacing a connected thermostat for the tank. Thus Adam can directly undertake work pertaining to heating and plumbing without subcontracting.

- I tend to write reviews some months after the event so as to add a some perspective as I feel this is more helpful to others. Hence the 3 month delay in this review. I hope it helps.

We had an issue earlier this year with our combi boiler where the heating would not come on. I phoned Titan as a friend recommended them. They sorted me out on the same day as they had a replacement part with them. They are friendly and they fixed our issue super quickly. I definitely would use them again and recommend to my friends.

Adam has done a few jobs for us now (replaced cylinder, boiler servicing and an issue with a bath waste) and we’ve always found him to be friendly and knowledgeable with excellent communication about what he’s doing and why. Also very neat and tidy job each time and turns up when he says he will. In addition he was happy to give honest advice on underfloor heating options. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Titan Heating in future and will be using them for all our plumbing needs.

Adam was absolutely brilliant. He and his colleague installed new radiators throughout our house (and a Tado controller system) and we couldn't be more pleased. He was friendly, efficient, fast, professional — and did it all for a really fair price. He also cleaned up afterwards such that you'd hardly know they'd been here. Superb — we would recommend them wholeheartedly.

What can I say! Adam is an absolute saviour! I contacted him last Friday and he came round on the Saturday! We have no hot water. Adam swiftly diagnosed the problem. Adam rearranged a couple of appointments on Monday to fit us in as my wife is heavily pregnant! The hot water problem is sorted! Thanks so much I will be highly recommending Adam.
