The absolute worse

The absolute worse. First and last time I'm using them. They never picked up our order but had updated a message saying order is on its way. They never picked it up. The restuarant owner delivered it herself. I'm asking local by toast to refund the tip and delivery charges. They are still pulling the it's the restuarants fault. No its your fault Toast. You're toast to me. SCAM stay away.

I think the delivery driver stole my food

I ordered pizza, Caesar salad and garlic bread. I received all but the salad. I asked the driver and told me “I don’t have, call support”.

I called the pizza place which is a great place and they told me they just started using this third party Toast delivery service and once it’s out of their store it’s out of their hands. They saw my order and that it was all put together and nothin left behind.

I tried contacting Toast but it’s all AI contact and they just put in “tickets”. I doubt anyone will even respond.

I’m waiting for a refund for the item I didn’t receive but who knows if I’ll even get that.

For $8 more I’ll stick with door dash next time.

I will never order through Local by Toast again.

I placed an order through Local by Toast. I received a text saying the driver was on his way with my order. Five minutes before his anticipated arrival I received another text saying the order was cancelled. The restaurant said they gave the driver my order and then Toast cancelled. I contacted the driver and he said he pressed his brakes too hard and my pizza fell on the floor. The restaurant did not seem to know what to do and Toast has no dedicated customer service line for those who order food from their partners. This is a ridiculous customer service/refund structure/model.

I finally broke down and called the only customer service number on Google which is only for businesses who work with Toast not people who use the Toast app to order from those businesses. After telling me he could not help me I clarified that the business wasn't the problem, the driver was and he hung up on me. They take no accountability for a problem that happens between the restaurant and the deliverylocation. I am out of $50.

The fact that you give them your money and they have no way to directly assist you in resolving the problem is one of the reasons why their competitors continue to attract so much business.

I am a loyal customer and I value a company’s response to problems and concerns. I will NEVER use Local by Toast again.

worst app ever

worst app ever. No customer service. Drivers do not speak English. So when your order is missing items the driver cannot help. My driver just hung up on me and blocked my number. lol

I tried ordering from the app

I tried ordering from the app, the money was taken and the order said it couldn’t be completed. It still hasn’t returned my money and the only thing they have is that damn automated ask help! I’ve repeated the same question 21 times to it and still keeps asking the same thing!

Toast sucks

Toast sucks

Both the restaurant and myself were so confused and no one ever went to pick up the order. It took over 2 hours and we ended up picking it up ourselves. Complete travesty.

Do not waste your time on this app or the company there’s no one responsible you can’t get a hold of anyone even the chat is wrong!

The app is not working the off-line on the weekends after seven and you can’t get a hold of anyone. I have to come pick up my own food!

DO NOT USE THIS APP

DO NOT USE THIS APP! If you do not get your food, the customer service representatives will not do anything to help you whatsoever. I placed an order on April 11th 2025 which was not received. I called the restaurant and opened 2 support tickets with Toast to ask 1) where my food was, and 2) for a refund once it was obvious I would not be getting the food I ordered and paid $55 dollars for. Zero response or help and my money has been stolen. Buyer beware and know if anything goes wrong they will steal your money!

First Impression FAIL

Placed an order for curbside pickup and waited half an joyride past yhe ready time. Nothing. I've never had a bad experience with this restaurant whether dining in or ordering take-out. I emailed toast and I got an auto reply stating that I'll be contacted by a rep soon and I should call the restaurant. You want me to WHAT? I ordered from the TOAST platform, THEY can call the restaurant. But really, I'm pretty positive it was toast sending my order to somewhere else or not sending it at all. Either way, I'll get my refund and I'll not be using them again. Peep

Can't get in touch with customer care

Can't get in touch with customer care. Phone number was a deep dive to find. No email for customer service. This company repeatedly bones businesses with 3rd party delivery whom end up being some of the most worthless humans known to man. When they don't deliver, there's no consequence. It's on the person who places the order to get a refund, then turn around a pay twice for whats ordered.

Awful service from the restaurant and…

Awful service from the restaurant and no where to contact Toast, so clearly they don’t care what the service is from their restaurants. DoorDash provides customer feedback and direct number if not satisfied. No benefits to using this service- NONE!!

Reprehensible Customer Service

I placed an order for a half dozen donuts through a restaurant called the salty in Austin Texas. I went to Google maps, went to the restaurant, hit delivery, and the first option that popped up was to use Toast. I placed the order, checked out as a guest and received an email with my receipt; everything seemed normal. An hour and a half later when my delivery should have been dropped off (to my sister, by the way, who I was trying to surprise and do something nice for), I still hadn’t heard anything from her snout receiving my surprise, so I called the restaurant directly, and they said that my order was still waiting to be picked up, but there was no information about who the driver service was, any phone number to call, or what service the order was placed through, and they couldn’t figure out why it hadn’t been picked up yet. I called the customer service number for Toast and proceeded to have the most unhelpful and unprofessional conversation I’ve ever possibly had in my life. This woman could not tell me anything about my order and instead told me she would have to send me a link for me to fill out that would then get sent to the restaurant for them to figure this out, even though neither the restaurant nor myself had any information on who was supposed to be picking this order up or what the hell was going on. I literally three-wayed the restaurant into the call with the toast representative and they told them that it didn’t list anything about the driver, and the woman said it would be through either Uber eats or DoorDash and The Salty employee Proceeded to tell them yet again that none of that information was listed and the toast representative then said once again, she would have to send me a link for us to figure this out. I was visibly upset that this was being punted off on me, the customer to figure out when this was their job to fix given that I paid money for this service, and the woman literally hung up on me. I’m flabbergasted at this experience and will never utilize this service ever again.

I was double charged for an online…

I was double charged for an online restaurant order because of a glitch with the toast server. When I contacted Toast because I could not get in touch with the restaurant they were willing to do less than nothing to help. Instead they gave me the run around telling me to contact the restaurant. I can not get through to the restaurant becuase they never have the phone on the hook so that they can only accept online orders. Now I have to drive 20+ miles to speak with someone at the restaurant to "maybe" be refunded. BUYERS BEWARE if you are forced to use Toast to pay for an online order. If you are double charged you may just lose your money.
