I approached this web designer for a website to be designed from scratch. He was very attentive and professional, providing me with exactly what I wanted. My website has also attracted a lot of hits which has developed into leads and business for myself. I am so thankful for the hard work Tom has done.
I engaged this developer to carry out amendments to my business website. While some of the requested changes were eventually implemented, the overall experience was frustrating and far more difficult than it needed to be.
From the outset, there was a strong emphasis on hourly billing rather than properly understanding the scope of the project. A quote was offered before the workload had been clearly assessed, and I received an invoice partway through the process — before the agreed changes had been completed. For a serious, established business operating in a competitive market, this felt premature and unprofessional.
Communication lacked clarity and continuity, and the working relationship felt transactional rather than collaborative. When you run a business that depends on brand positioning, SEO, and strategic presentation, you need a web partner who takes ownership and sees projects through to completion before focusing on payment.
He may be better suited to clearly defined, small technical tasks rather than ongoing, business-critical development work.

Thank you for your feedback. I would like to clarify the position regarding payment, scope, and project delivery.
A part payment was received prior to the commencement of work, with the remaining balance invoiced only once the agreed work had been completed. At no point were invoices issued mid-project, nor was payment requested in advance of delivery beyond the initially agreed deposit.
All work was carried out in line with the agreed scope and terms established at the outset. Towards the end of the project, an additional list of requested amendments was provided and completed in full. Any delays encountered during the process were due to technical limitations within the existing hosting environment and were outside of my direct control.
While I respect that experiences and expectations can differ, I do not believe the feedback accurately reflects how this project was managed or delivered. I wish you every success moving forward.
