Back in early April, 2025, I purchased a rebuilt BMW f12 convertible top hydraulic pump assembly from Top Hydraulics to replace my weakened, 10 yr old unit.
I waited to submit a review until I completed the swap out and used the top for a while this summer.
Well, I’ve used the hell out of the top this summer and it’s works perfectly now.

Klaus was very helpful answering questions before the purchase and They refunded the core charge very quickly after I retuned it.

Great outfit. The pump was very well packaged. Klaus obviously runs a tight ship.

A fairly simple swap out and I saved $1600. off the dealer price.

Had them send me a full set with a $1000 deposit to be immediately credited back to my account after return of my cores. Of the 11 parts I received from them, 9 appeared brand new and never used while 2 arrived very dirty and definitely appeared used. However, I pressure tested them and they passed so I decided to keep and use them. Top hydraulics received my cores on February 20th and I patiently waited for them to credit my $1000 core deposit back to my account. I heard nothing back from them. After 6 weeks of waiting, I contacted them about it and they wrote back to say my cores were being evaluated. Today on April 11th, I received a $700 credit back to my card instead of the $1000 I had put up front with no explanation whatsoever. I'm glad to have gotten something back....but after all this waiting, not only do I feel shortchanged, but I wondering if I hadn't written them back about my core deposit refund if I would've ever received anything at all? Just not a professional way to run do business. If I had to do it again, I'd have just sent all my cylinders in to be rebuilt by them. That way, you can avoid them hoping to skip out on the core deposit refund or shortchanging you on the back end when it finally does get refunded.

I needed to get a new cylinder for the retractable roof on my 1993 Mercedes 500SL. There are 12 cylinders and 1 distributor to lift and close the roof automatically. One part alone was well over €500 through the main Mercedes dealer here. They also recommend that if you need to replace 1 cylinder, you should replace them all. €500 X 13 = Way more than I should have to spend

Enter Top Hydraulics. I sent all 13 of my cylinders over to Klaus (who had patiently answered so many of my multiple questions and emails in advance) from Ireland to the US. Within 2 weeks, I had them all sent back to me by courier, completely refurbished to the highest of standards, with fully detailed instructions on how to put them back in. The complete price was for far less than the cost of 2 new cylinders from a MB dealer.
