They closed my accounts because Hedging between 4 XFA and 1 combine

I have been a Topstep customer for over 3 years and spent a lot of money, but they closed 4 of my XFA accounts due to hedging violations last week, because I longed in my XFA while working on my combine. I like to flip my position a lot while trading the combine. After I contacted their support, they told me the decision is final. I am beyond frustrated. Like, I can understand we should not do "the Hedging," but between XFA and combines? The time window for me to close them is way too short; if you have an internet lag, it is almost impossible.

Topstep has an AI agent to answer about…

Topstep has an AI agent to answer about 80% of general questions. Then if your questions are still not answered then the AI agent refers you to an actual Agent to open a chat with you so that ALL your questions can be answered quickly. Very good support and in good response time as well. A fair Prop trading company... just be sure to follow and KNOW all the trading evaluation rules. And if in doubt, be sure to start a conversation with the AI support agent "Windy".

I really like Topstep and its platform

I really like Topstep and its platform. For me, this is absolutely the most aesthetic trading experience out there, and for some of us that does mean a lot. Nevertheless, I've recently had a strange technical issue: my account was put on hold, and I have no idea why. No hedging whatsoever. I'm just doing my job the same way I did before my first payout. I'm still waiting for a response from support, and the uncertainty is really taking a psychological toll on me. I do hope I'll be able to keep trading with them, because I think they do a great job, despite all the hate that's been spilling out here lately. If anyone from support is reading this, I'd be grateful for any help speeding things along!

Topstep has closed my XFA that I worked…

Topstep has closed my XFA that I worked so hard for it I bought multiple combines before passing that one i passed with extreme difficulty and now they closed my account because of a surname mismatch they could have told me before I passed or before I bought multiple accounts and failed why did the matter come when I want to finally request a payout i told them the reason and they still closed my account i would not recommend anyone to buy a topstep account i am speaking from the bottom of my heart

The best customer service I've ever experienced

Even though their refund policy is strict they are very considerate with every customer. They are just great in every way. Their prices are competitive, but what makes them outstand from the rest is the true appreciation they have for every customer.

Laura and the rest of the support rock!
Theyre fast, actually come back to my ticket without me needing to Ask for updates. Support really went out their way to resolve my issues. Very happy with their support team.

The platform itself is also great. API access works very well; their costs to trade are very competitive.
Beats out FTMO by a mile IMO.

Their guidelines and T&C Can be lengthy, but they are entirely possible to fully understand as long as you actually Read them.

Mainly just relieved that if I do ever have an issues, the support team goes very far to help.

I accidently reset a combine account with 2.9k profit…

I accidently reset a combine account which was locked after achieving profit target. Whilst reset another account, I misread the lockout as account voided and reset the account with 2992 profit 8 dollars short.

Having realised the next day, I message TS support via Windy who connected me to Customer Service adviser Paul.

he asked relevant questions and offered a solution of transferring the balance onto a new account and manually closing when I achieve profit target. '

Paul made this process easier than those final 8 dollars were to get, lets just put it that way....

Glad to say I passed the account thanks to Paul and TS support!

Platform failure acknowledged in writing, then banned for filing chargeback

After 18 months as a Topstep customer, my account was terminated under their Section 3 (chargeback clause) on May 12, 2026. The chronology matters and is fully documented in Topstep’s own emails:
On March 8, 2026, I configured the platform’s “Liquidate and Block at $295” risk setting on three 50K combine accounts. On March 18, 2026, all three accounts reached the $295 threshold but failed to lock out as configured. This is a platform malfunction, not user error.
After Topstep support did not respond substantively in a reasonable timeframe, I filed a chargeback for $440 as a last-resort consumer protection measure, followed by a BBB complaint on March 28, 2026.
On March 30, 2026, Topstep supervisor Josh confirmed the platform failure in writing, stating that the accounts “didn’t lock out as intended,” and offered 4 No Activation Fee Reset Credits plus 1 additional credit as a “One-Time Exception.”
Six weeks later, on May 12, 2026, Topstep’s Compliance team terminated my account for “excessive chargeback disputes” and is withholding $1,545 in payouts that were earned and pending before the termination. Their justification rests on a chronology that is reversed from the actual facts: the chargeback was filed BEFORE any remedy was offered, not after.
I have the full email chain preserved, including the supervisor’s written admission of the platform bug.
Future customers should know that:
• Platform risk settings can fail without recourse
• Filing a chargeback in response to a documented platform failure may result in a permanent ban
• Pending payouts earned in good standing can be withheld retroactively
I would encourage anyone considering Topstep to read their Section 3 carefully and to evaluate alternatives where the consumer protection mechanism (chargeback) does not result in indefinite termination when the underlying dispute concerns a platform malfunction acknowledged by the firm itself.
