I would give them a negative # if I could. Long story short, fraudulently billed, refused to issue refund and bill me correctly. Spent over 8 hours and three days on this trying to get resolution. All I get is "I apologize....." in a hard to understand accent. Their CSR in refunds is Virnie employee # 511973. His answer is to dispute the charge with my credit card company or apply the overage to my next bill. They think I am enrolled in 2 phone plans all of a sudden and billed me for data that was supposed to come from my points. HORRIBLE organization. I asked for a name to file in small claims court and he couldn't help. No thank you! Stay away. They were OK as Total Wireless, but as Total by Verizon - disaster.

Shabby Company, Attempted Extortion to Unlock Phone

I have already left a review about their service, which sucks, because I could never get the internet unless I was home or near wifi. Anyway, I called today to get my phone unlocked because by using their service they lock the phone and then they tried to extort $102 to unlock the phone that already belongs to me. A very shabby, corrupt, fraudulent company.

Total Garbage by Verizon

Been a customer for a couple of months now and am ready to jump ship. If you're looking for customer-based service where they speak and understand proper English, FORGET IT! My data service slowed down to a crawl and I never use 5GB. Trying to reason this out with the Philippines is HOPELESS! You get foreign robots that can only read from a script trying to sell you upgraded service for more money. I'm not going into all the details as they're too much and too long to type here. Signing up with them was another fiasco. It took days to get the SIM Card then hours (yes hours!) worth of calls to get activated. I routinely get a notice on my phone that I'm no longer connected to the network and can only make emergency calls. Trying to reason with the Philippines is a nightmare! Asking to be connected with customer service in the US was another joke. I repeatedly got the CS same number I called to begin with. After being told "Your Number Wasn't Properly Provisioned" too many times for comfort, I all of a sudden out of nowhere not able to make or receive calls. I'm done!

Almost the whole wireless industry is out of control. I had left Verizon originally because they bumped up my plan to a more expensive 5G without asking me or telling me and I don't have a 5G phone, shut off my service 2 days before a confirmed payment arrangement, and added Disney + to my account despite the fact that I never ordered it nor went for any free trial. Ting was useless because they couldn't get my data service running after a week while they and Verizon pointed fingers at each other. Consumer Cellular is a front for the lowest-rated carrier in Consumer Reports, AT&T, where I dropped calls like flies. See my review of Consumer Cellular here on Trustpilot. It's more than likely you won't try them after reading what I wrote. Except for the billing issues which account for more than 98% of Verizon's negative reviews, they were great, so I gave Total a try. Hence, the title of my review. Mint next.

Double pay what a scam

My son and I both have since and phones through total by Verizon, this month both he and I have had issues with getting our full service I paid for a 30-day $30 card and got three days he paid for a $40 30-day card and got 13 days! In both instances I was asked to pay for more in order to restore our service I'm sorry but 30 days should be 30 days not $10 a day at at 3 days for my $30 nor should you only get 13 days for $40 please fix this and stop overcharging your customers it's absolutely insane I think we're going to switch to US Cellular never had this problem with them!

Total by Verizon terrible service…

Total by Verizon won’t let me log into my account. Each time I try it says there is a problem and I should reset my pin. I ask for the link bet get ads instead. Every time. The tech dept says I must use my email password. I’ve called 5 times and gotten no help whatsoever. I had to ask eight times before the person grudgingly gave me my account number. I’d give a zero if I could. Avoid Total by Verizon at all costs.

Absolute joke of a company

Absolute joke of a company. Do not trust them to do the right thing. Customer service isn't just bad, it's criminal. They will steal your money and act like there is nothing they can do. "There is no supervisor" - "You must wait for us to call you back" (they don't) . On and on and on. Run away from these jerks.

Zero by VZW, Zero Stars

Zero Stars. Zero American custom service reps. Zero respect or concern for your time, even though they keep telling you OVER and OVER again that in "2-3 business days" the problem, ticket will blah blah escalated blah blah blah guaranteed". Nope, it's all fake. Zero functional system so you have to call them for things you don't need to on other MVNOs or carriers. Zero compliance with federal programs like ACP so you'll have to port out to get your benefits. But it is 100% Verizon. And that's not worth 0 zeros. That should be negative stars for karmic balance.

Wish I could give ZERO stars

Wish I could give ZERO stars. Trying to transfer to Mint Mobile, but between getting phone unlocked, correct PIN's, and the incompetent 'customer service' we're going on 2 weeks without service. When TW went to TbyV, they merged prepaid accounts that were not permitted, have been charging me for 2 lines (picking any 2 of 3 previously associated lines, not even the same ones each month) and have the accounts linked to billing records from 10 years ago, when I've clearly updated to 2 other residences since then. Not 'allowed' to tell me what phone lines I'm paying for, but if I 'guess it right' they'll verify it. Can't send me emails because of a 'glitch' and never call back or have record of the tickets they create for this issue. Basically, they have me by the balls....and I'm a woman. What the f*** are people supposed to do????

They kept me on the phone for 7 hours…

They kept me on the phone for 7 hours just to set up a new phone that I purchased from the apple store. It never worked they couldn't set it up. I was on hold with a clown from total verizon for 1 hr. and 40 min. to hear a click and was hung up on. He told me it was almost done just before i lost connection. I cancelled my service with them and they refused to let me keep my phone number that I had for 15 years. I went to another carrier and she spent 2 hours with the same run around. These people are a bunch of clowns that don't know or care about service at all. I will also be leaving a complaint with the bbb. If verizon is connected with this sham company then shame on them.

Absolutely the worst customer service you will ever encounter

This company has the worst customer service I have
ever seen. Each time I have called with an issue, they transfer you over and over. You end up explaining the issue to 6 or 7 different people and then they will hang up on you. I spent over 3 hours this time and they did not resolve my issue. I give up!!! I will just have to dispute their extra charge with my credit card company.

I'm still satisfied with Total by Verizon

I've been a total wireless customer since they started up. I too,was not excited about Verizon buying TracFone , as I had a horrible experience with a contract carrier years ago , and vowed to never go back to a contract again. I've saved thousands of dollars over the years , and that's even buying a new phone every year or two.The coverage is great where I live , If you are one to have a hard time communicating with support , then I highly recommend using the chat option. I rarely have had to call support over the years other than to upgrade my phone. I wish they had just kept the Total Wireless plans the way they were , but they must not have liked the shared plans or the 25 dollar plan. My 35 dollar plan for many years was 5gb..Then they upped it to 10gb...no charge..And made a 5gb new plan for 30 dollars..They grandfathered our legacy plans til 2024..At that point, I might actually downgrade my plan as I have never used over 5gb a month since I started with Total. Out of the tens of thousands of customers they have , there are only a handful of complaints.. I did a phone upgrade yesterday , opened a chat window..it actually Took a little while to get an agent . Once we started , it was a seamless transition to change my service to a new phone..I only hope Verizon keeps this service running the way total wireless did..Nice affordable phones , great coverage , and support when you need it. I've looked at every other carrier and they all have their share of problems. I do recommend getting a branded phone if you want ALL the carrier services to work like vvm, wifi calling, etc...but that is true with every single carrier with android phones.. There are cheaper plans and companies..but overall , I'm happy with the services Total by Verizon is providing , and hope they continue to do so in the future.

HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND

HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND! Ordered 4 SIM cards with service on website. I’ve been on the phone no exaggeration over 16 hours the last 2 days trying to get 4 lines activated. I’ve already missed a day of work to just get bounced around departments and hung up on. Terrible Customer Service. I’m to the point to where I’m ready to just lose the $200 I spent on.

If you want to transfer your number to…

If you want to transfer your number to another carrier, you better be prepared to talk to 5 different people in the Philippines totaling 2 1/2 hours on the phone. Depending on the Filipino you talk to, you can understand about half of them, nor can they understand you. Don't let the person you are talking to say they want to transfer your call to a higher department.....you will be hung up on every time. Then you need to call them back, you will get a different person where you will be required to start all over again. If they say they will call you back......they never will.......GOOD LUCK

Verizon Makes It Impossible to Port a Number to a New Carrier

I had service with Total Wireless for many years and experienced good service with no issues. They used Verizon lines, but not Verizon sales tactics. When Verizon recently bought up and rebranded Total Wireless as Total by Verizon, I immediately began to experience issues. First they wanted me to select a Verizon calling plan. I selected the legacy plan equivalent to what I had with Total Wireless. But every month for many months, I kept getting messages near the end of each month that my plan would end unless I chose a plan, something I had already done. When I tried to get my phone numbers ported over to T-Mobile today, Verizon made it as close to impossible to port the numbers as they could possibly make it. They would only accept one of the two porting pins I had requested and received, insisting that the second pin was wrong, and wouldn't port the second phone number. Then they said the zip code I was asked to provide was inaccurate, even though that was the (accurate) zip code showing on my online account. Next they weren't happy with the account number shown on my account page as my cell number. Instead, I had to provide both 20 digit IMEI numbers for our two phones. Was the issue to stop some sort of fraud? Was it to find a reason to keep me from leaving? God only knows. Each time anything was done, Verizon also requested that I read back an access pin, which was done successfully. But apparently that was not enough to prove my bonafides. I was on the phone with them for over two hours today because they wouldn't accept the transfer pin that THEY sent me. Did Verizon think I will keep doing business with them after all this unnecessary bureaucratic nonsense? If so, they were sadly mistaken. When I used to have them as a carrier years ago, they used to call me up at the end of my 2 year plan and try to coerce me to get a new phone so they could keep me under contract, not once but multiple times. Verizon used to have the best network coverage in my area. But AT&T and T-Mobile now have the best 5G network coverage now. So who needs them? Good riddance Verizon!!!

I have been trying to port my number…

I have been trying to port my number from Total by Verizon for 2 days. They will not release my that I have had for decades. I was also told that I would have to buy a new sim card from them so they could establish a new account with my IMEI, and then maybe they could release my number. Absolutely ridiculous. They are holding my number hostage.
