Beware of the rude manager for tasting…
Beware of the rude manager for tasting alcohol.
For 20 years I was a customer of this store because it has some alcohol that is not available in Costco or in Fred Meyer. And as my IT company in Tukwila is next to this store I used to visit this store on Fridays one or two times per month after work to test alcohol in this store and buy wine, vodka or brandy. Tasting by teaspoon-sized amounts from about 5-7 bottles of alcohol is free for evenings or weekends.
Last Friday I asked a manager, Jason Castoriano, to serve me just the sample of one bottle but my asking was declined in an arrogant manner by that manager that he gives samples only to those customers by his words: "who intends to buy' that beverage. And as he reminds me from last visits that I did not buy any tasted alcohol he is not serving me the sample to taste. I try to explain that I did not ask him to give me the sample of previously tested beverages but that Total Wine employee insisted that he is not serving me a sample. When I told him that I'll complain about his attitude, the manager told me that he does not care.
I was humiliated before the customers and despised just for that teaspoon-sized sample because of the cheap manager of this store. No more spending my money there in the future.
AWFUL EXPERIENCE! EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
I’m going to try toning down the adjectives that are appropriate to describe these people on Trustpilot’s website because I know there have to be rules.
From start finish, the process of ordering from Total Wine’s website was a complete flipping nightmare! Your staff in stores, with the exception of two people were equally awful! Your customer service is just the icing on the cake! What a set of stupid people! My gift to my sister for her birthday today is completely RUINED as a result of your sheer stupidity! What started as a process to try to discuss the packaging with the first person I spoke with in the Coral Springs store who was nice & professional, turned into me going down a rabbit hole because he was not available and this person I was speaking with “could not find my order” after giving her every last detail possible multiple times! Only for her to call me back telling me my order was routed to the Plantation store. I’ve never ordered anything from these people before. How the hell on earth would I have known that when your system did not indicate so?? & regardless of what store I called, wouldn’t it make common sense for THEM to be able to pull up the order & state what specific store I needed to call? Thanks for ruining my gift to my sister you set of lunatics! I requested that the store cancel my order.
I called their customer service/headquarters 3 times only to have the first two lunatics hang up on me. The first insisted that I gave her all the information about all the issues I was having before I could speak with a supervisor, then became very rude & told me she had other people calling. I called back to blast them & the second one hung up. The third one only took my information & placed me on hold for a supervisor but came back on to tell me no one was available & someone would call me back before she disconnected the call without giving me a chance to say anything. This is in addition to calling multiple stores & speaking with multiple people throughout this ordeal. This was about an hour of my time wasted (in addition to the hours I spent trying to order on their stupid finicky website which hardly gave any indication of what their multiple issues were).
I would die before I ever spend my money with you again, or recommend you to even my worst enemy!
Their pricing has gotten ridiculous
Their pricing has gotten ridiculous! Competitive on certain brands and absolutely absurd on others. Sometimes twice as much on certain bottles. How can there be a difference of $200 - $300 even as much as$500? Recently purchased a bottle of Redbreast 27 for $550 at another store Total Wine was charging $720. Three weeks later they're now charging $1000. That's just gouging. If they're so big, why aren't they getting better pricing from their suppliers? Pretty sure they are but are now seeing the prices bottles are getting on the secondary market so they figure ok we'll charge that too and force customers to buy our house brands which have gone up almost 100%in the past couple years. I will no longer use them for anything.
Be careful if you shop at total wine…
Be careful if you shop at total wine through Instacart. I used all the money I had left in my account after buying Christmas for my family to get a very expensive bottle of scotch for my dad. The total was $83. They never even gave me an option to change it to something else. I waited and waited and when it was time for it to arrive I got a message letting me know my order had been cancelled because they were out and that it would take 7-10 days for the money to leave pending and go back into my account. So I had no gift for my dad for Christmas. On top of that I tried to use the customer service chat and they transferred me to the financial department and I was left hanging for 30 minutes and then hung up on. I’m so completely disappointed and I will never shop at total wine again.

Brutal user experience.
Their website sucks donky d*ick
Their website sucks donky d*ick. Error, Fail. Customer service has no options. You're not going to be able to place an order without going to the store. No path to print out an order. Sorry. Start again.
They totally blow after 2 years
They totally blow after 2 years
Once a go-to spot for wine ordering and selection - now a sad dollar store trip. Seriously. Every other effing order I'd tried placing in the web browser or online results in the same BS. 'promo not accepted' / 'promo invalid' / 'sorry system unavailable, try again later' garbage.
You call their direct store and get runaround that they cannot take payments or orders over the phone due to security. Well then... fixing your (&(%*&^ app/website. Simple as that.
And Their coupon 'offers' require you to purchase $30 - $100 *not including tax* "before" qualifying that whopping $5 or $10 "discount". Lad of garbage.
My sister’s friend went to Total Wine…
My sister’s friend went to Total Wine in Metairie, La for three bottle of wines. He is from Greece and is lost when it comes to wine. He asked for my advice. I wrote this:
Louis Jadot Macon Villages
“ “” “ Beaujolais
“ “” “ Chardonnay
We all know what the quotation marks mean. He showed a salesman the list and he got Louis Jadot Macon Villages but the salesman stuck him with a Pardon & Fils Beaujolais-Villages & a Bishop Pine Chardonnay. The Beaujolais-Villages was horrible. Had a horrible bitter aftertaste. Not even going to try the Bishop Pine. Crappy company. Salesman stuck it to him because he was a foreigner.
Bad online experience
Had received 2 $50 gift cards for birthday. Tried to place an order on-line at total wine and more and they will only accept one gift card in one transaction, so now I have to drive 20 miles one-way to buy items I want....

Not a deal
Total wine in Fort Myers is fine but they do not have better deals so you can go to WinnDixie, ABC or Walmart and get the same price without the traffic headache of Daniel's and 41 in Fort Myers.
Wine Class
We had a Wine Class on Saturday 11/04/2023 at 1:00 pm. The class it's self was tremendous. Dave presented the wines in a manner that resulted in discussion and questions. His knowledge of wines is exceptional and manner of presentation made the afternoon a real pleasure. The only thing that kept me from giving a 5-star was the attitude of the person we spoke to when we first got to the store. My wife was on the phone giving directions to the store to one of the attendees while I went to check in. After I told the lady at the counter what I was there for she asked for my certificate and since my wife made all the arrangements I didn't know what I was looking for and did not find a certificate. I asked the lady if we had to have the certificate to have the class and when she said yes my first inclination was to cancel the class. After some discussion it was decided that I didn't need the certificate and we finally got to the class. The ladies attitude during the whole discussion was not acceptable to me as a customer and certainly wouldn't have been acceptable to me as an employer. Again, Dave, who witnessed the incident ap0logized which was appreciated.

Great personalized service
We had a great time shopping at the St Louis Park, MN location! Dave shared his knowledge about wine and we went home with 2 cases of great wine! We’ll be back! Thanks Dave!
Beer selection didn't live up to expectation
I'd been wanting to go to a Total Wine & More, because of the MORE, for quite a while. I hadn't made it though because of the distance. Was thrilled to learn they were opening a store in Avon -- my neighborhood!
Unfortunately, I am a beer lover. Not only that, I am a lover of sweet, bold styles, Imperial Stouts, Milk Stouts, Pastry Stouts, Chocolate Stouts, Some Porters, Barrel Aged Stouts and Porters, Bocks, Dopplebocks, etc. In this store, however, while there was a whole aisle devoted to craft beer, only on section, maybe 5' wide, contained all the examples of these types that this store offered in the single beer section. I bought a couple of the only three beers that I found that sounded good, but only one of them was really enjoyable. I will go back one time, to check out the packaged beer section and to see if this situation has been improved, but I think I'll find more of what I want in the neighborhood liquor store I've been going to.
Incredible selection, great service
Incredible selection, great gift options, and curbside service, which was especially great during COVID. Hate to say it, but Total Wine helped us through the pandemic.
Awful experience
Awful experience. Visited the store to purchase an item that I found on line in stock. However, it was not on the reachable shelf. The associate was not willing to get it down for me. He had me order it online and come back in 2 hours. The next day when i went to pick up they were closed due to a flood. Although I had already paid they couldn’t give me the product. I called and was given a gift cert that was only able to be used on non alcohol and expired in a week. Awful customer service. Will not go back.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service! Wish I had read the customers' reviews before deciding to deal with this company! They failed to deliver the order 1st time, I called and spoke with someone from customer service who was likely in a rush. They ensured me that the order will be redelivered the next day between 1 pm and 3 pm. My friend (it was his Bday) was waiting for them all day. They failed to deliver again and instead were processing a refund. So, basically, they simply lied to me. Failed to deliver twice. Didn't send any notifications about the redelivery attempt, the next time I called customer service they were trying to blame me for the lack of instruction (???), which were very clear from the beginning: deliver to a residential address, both phone and emails were given, people were home waiting. What a terrible way to do business!
If you want cancel online online order …
If you want cancel online online order ,you must be call customer service, but they work at 9 a.m,if you made delivery at morning, they will told you you cancel too late!
Why Sudden Price Change
Why did price change from $60.99 to $64.99 all of a sudden??? Not at all happy. Will purchase from another store that has the same item for $56.99.
Order was late
Order was late. Tip was added automatically. No way would I have rewarded such poor service.
