SCAM ALERT! Stay FAR FAR away from TRADEMARK PIONEER!

My experience of working with Trademark Pioneer is that they are a TOTAL SCAM!!! BE AWARE and STAY AWAY!!! Here's there MO, in case you've already been subject to a similar experience as I have.

I called them to trademark my logo for 1 category. By the end of the call, they convinced me to trademark it for 3 categories (which cost 1K). Months later, they showed me that they had done some work, which was trademarking my logo for 1 category (even though I paid for 3). Later on, they called me back, and asked me to trademark not only my logo but my business name in 3 categories (which was another 1K). Months later, having already paid for trademarking my logo and business name in 3 categories each, they had STILL ONLY TRADEMARKED MY LOGO IN 1 CATEGORY! The reason? And I quote:

“there is a small discrepancy in your application that has caused it to be temporarily placed on hold. To make your application LIVE again, you will need to provide verification from All 50 States that your trademark has no objection.

This attested verification from the Notary of All 50 States is required for both your Name and Logo…The charges for each application verification per state are as follows:

50 States Verification and Attestation: $67 per state * 50 = $3350 * 2 (Two Applications)
Two Application Govt Charges:: $6700.00

Trademark Pioneer Service Charge: $200”

This sounded SUPER shady. Fortunately, I had a friend refer me to a trademark lawyer who verified that THIS WAS A SCAM! So I called them on a recorded line to use as evidence for my lawyer and asked for a full-refund. Here’s the options they told me:
1) They would give me 1K back on the spot.
2) The would give me a full refund, but “since we have paid the gov’t filing fee, if we do a full refund, we will keep the trademark.” I told them that my attorney told me that they could not keep my trademark bc it was in my name. They told me, “it will be changed. Your attorney did not clarify it. We can change it.”

Let me give you 5 more reasons how crooked and illegal this company is:

1) During our phone conversation, the person on the other line said that he couldn’t hear me (like my phone call was breaking up or something!). I couldn’t help but laugh -- that’s how low this company is willing to stoop.
2) I told them that I was going to call back in 5 business days with my lawyer if they didn’t refund my money. I asked them to acknowledge on the recorded line that they understood what I was saying to them. Their response, “I don’t understand.” Again, you can’t make this stuff up! I entertained their inability to understand the statement I was making and explicitly laid out for them how 5 business days from today was in exactly one week.
3) After I hung up the phone, within hours, the company’s secretary assistant emailed me back and said that I needed to watch out for scammers pretending to be them. There was someone else out there scamming their clients, not them of course, implying that the person who I had just talked to wasn't really Trademark Pioneer but someone impersonating them. Seriously?!
4) After doing some digging, I found someone else on the Justia website, under the Ask a Lawyer section, who had had the EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE as me with this company! (TrustPilot doesn't allow links in their review, but you can easily search it on Justia's website). There was also another person who posted on Reddit how they were scammed by Trademark Pioneer. These instances are IN ADDITION to the reviews on Trustpilot who were unsatisfied with Trademark Pioneer's service.
5) Finally, I contacted the Trademarks Special Task Force on Improper Activities and they said, "Third-party logo design companies and non-attorney filing firms are not permitted to represent others before the USPTO in trademark matters." Therefore, Trademark Pioneer should not even be conducting this sort of business (i.e. registering trademarks in the name of an attorney). Ironically, the only time I had contact with their attorney who filed my trademark was after I was scammed! My lawyer contacted her and found out that she, "contracted with them for a few months before she realized what kind of operation they were running" and then quit working for them.

I am still demanding a full refund from this company, and I hired a lawyer to help me. I’ve also filed a scam report with the federal trade commission, I’ve emailed our government’s trademark office about this scam, and posted my experience on this website. My sincerest hope is to PREVENT other businesses like myself from being scammed by this company! STAY AWAY!!

Never involve yourself!!!!!!

Never do business with them! A total money trap! This company pushes you to file more than one class even though it is unnecessary, doing its best to make the process as expensive as possible! then they ask for lawyer fees while it wasn't even discussed before! NEVER NEVER NEVER!!! I ended up disputing my payment, wasted my time and have no result!

Fraudulent Business

I contacted Trademark Pioneer for trademark services. However, when I was invoiced, the invoice came from a company called ARTNART* CREATIVE COMP. I did not feel comfortable moving forward receiving trademarking services from a design studio.

I promptly asked for a refund.

When I disputed the charge with Chase, Trademark Pioneer fraudulently impersonated me in the documents they provided Chase to fake that I received the services they promised.

[Removed text about identity theft. This is not identity theft. It is fraud.]

I have contacted the Attorney General of Oregon, the Federal Trade Commission, the BBB, the USPTO, and the FBI to report this fraudulent activity.

If those agencies cannot resolve this issue, I will contact my attorney to take further action.

Edit – 2/9/23: The bank cannot verify if the service provider created fraudulent documents to rebuttal a chargeback. That is why this must be handled legally to expose fraudulent activity.

At this point, I am less concerned about the fee and disappointed that Trademark Pioneer doctored documents to pretend that I received services from them.

They do not list their business address in their Terms of Service or Privacy Policy. The address listed on Trustpilot is not a real address.

Edit – 2/13/23: They claim to be registered in Florida, but the company Trademark Pioneer, LLC does not exist in the database of corporations and business entities in Florida's Department of State.

Edit – 3/13/23: I spoke with the USPTO.

"The USPTO has been made aware that customers of various logo design and alleged low-cost “registration” websites are being targeted by a trademark registration-related scam. In many cases, the initial contact is made to customers of logo design services who are alerted by an alleged “legal department” making unfounded and untrue claims about the USPTO being contacted by a third-party to register the same or similar logo.

The USPTO does not share databases with logo design or alleged low-cost trademark registration websites, and we do not conduct searches of third-party websites to look for similar trademarks.

***Additionally, we note that even if a party wants to file a trademark application, only the applicants themselves or their U.S.-licensed attorneys may file the applications. Third-party logo design companies and non-attorney filing firms are not permitted to represent others before the USPTO in trademark matters.***"

Edit – 6/19/23: I email Trademark Pioneers and they never responded.

Hello Peter,

Respectfully, if the business was fraudulent the bank would never go in our favor, the case was approved by your bank which exactly tells who was the fraud here. However, we would still love to settle things with you. Kindly connect back with your account manager and get things sorted in a professional manner.

Regards,
Trademark Pioneer.

Edit - 01/09/23: Trademark Pioneer has a list of satisfied clients, there is or never will be any fraudulent activity done in the name of trademark pioneer and if anyone does then they will dealt accordingly. For your case there were no fraudulent documents created but company policies shared which clearly made you ineligible to get back the funds since you already availed the services.
Once again, we will suggest you to deal with this professionally instead of defaming a company for no valid reasons.
