I had an amazing hiking trip with trail mates in May 2025. I was incredibly nervous as it was my first proper hiking trip and first ever solo trip, but Garry was great and on hand via what’s app from the get go with any questions and updates.

The trip I went on was to Montenegro which was absolutely beautiful. Our tour guide was a local man who had great energy and was very supportive and made me feel safe when I was nervous at some of the more challenging parts of the hikes.

It was great to meet a group of people from all over who were all so kind and keen to get stuck in. There was no pressure to do anything you didn’t want to do!

I would recommend trail mates to anyone who is keen to go exploring in a group setting full of like minded people. I’m a woman in my early 30’s and found the whole experience fun and stress free!

I joined the Oman trip early January and it was an unforgettable experience: A group of 10 like-minded people from various backgrounds, amazing organization, great guides, perfect accommodation (freshly brewed coffee early morning to late evening 😀), and absolutely stunning scenery. I enjoyed the technical trails and appreciated the flexibility to accommodate to all levels. I will certainly be back for some of the more exotic destinations!

I joined the Oman hiking trip and it was a great experience! The program was well structured, with an amazing international group with a good age mix. The accommodation felt very authentic and each day offered different landscapes and nature, so every hike felt unique. It was my first trip with Trailmates and I can highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this experience and tour. The hikes were beautiful and there were options for slightly easier alternatives on the ‘challenging’ hiking days which I really appreciated. The other people on the tour were lovely and everyone was very supportive of each other. We finished off the evenings having group dinners in the local town. I would recommend this trip.

Just returned from a great week in Oman! It was one of the few really authentic trips which I made, and the first with Trailmatesadventures. I liked the mixed group (32-62 yrs) of inspiring people. The whole trip was well organized, but with enough room for flexibility (e.g. alternative hikes, activities). I’ve never joined any group trips before, but this was very relaxed just having to book the trip and flight (and seeing various highlights without having to do the research).

I really enjoyed the trip to Madeira, despite the unusual weather and unexpected flight cancellations. The hikes were great (our guide Paulo just amazing), and the orga on the island was excellent. I didn’t have to worry about anything. Exactly what I wanted for this trip.

I very much enjoyed the hikes in beautiful Madeira. The company was excellent, and our guide André was extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the week.

If I had to point to anything that could be improved it'd be at the arrival at the apartments; it wasn't clear where luggage could be safely stored until check-in, so we needed to improvise a bit at that point. Also, the lock in the apartment door wasn't in the best condition.

However, these very minor issues don't really subtract from what was overall a superb experience!

Had a fantastic time in Madeira, a really nice mix of hikes to see different parts of the island and the organisation was brilliant, loved it!

Everything went really well during the hike in Madeira, I really recommend it.

It was honestly fantastic and the little additions like the meal with the driver and the local film at cinema Dede really added to the experience. Plus I was so lucky to have such a great group to share the experience with. I'd definitely look at another tour with Trailmates.

I wanted to review your trip as my first experience of group travelling, it had been an incredible experience from start to finish, it was so well organised at every step with support provided when required.

It was so nice to be in a group of like minded people making new connections even sharing accommodation which I was sceptical about in the beginning, but was totally comfortable from the start.

Our guide Vera was incredible sharing so much information on the area always with a huge smile and encouragement when needed. As well as going the extra mile to help people organise out other activities outside of hiking such as spa treatments and water activities.

The hikes themselves were incredible with stunning diverse scenery. Watching wildlife such as mountain goats was a personal highlight. The hikes were challenging with some small technical sections which made it more enjoyable.

I would highly recommend this experience.

Great experience in Montenegro! Very good organized and our guide Vera was amazing.

First time with Trailmates, fantastic week amongst the snow capped peaks led by Giorgi.
Not been doing mountain treks for a while but found it just the right level.
Hotel basic but all we needed, loads of great food & wine in Mestia and everything laid on to make it so simple (including a great diverse bunch of new friends).
All you need to do is book a flight and dig out your boots.

A really enjoyable experience hiking with the group and guide. Amazing views of Madeira and lovely restaurants with some good food.

I joined Trailmates Adventures for their hiking trip to Madeira and had an amazing experience. The hike selection was great, the organization smooth, and everything felt well thought through. What really made it special, though, were the people – such a fun and supportive group that turned the trip into something unforgettable.

Wasn’t expecting to laugh as much as I did on this trip! 😀 From exploring beautiful trails to sharing meals every night with new friends. I was travelling solo, but I never once felt like I was alone!
