Extremely poor experience

Extremely poor experience – centre ceased operating after full payment

I enrolled with Training in Electrical Ltd for a City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ and paid the full course fee upfront. I completed all required assessments, and my portfolio was fully uploaded and ready for certification.

However, the centre later became completely uncontactable. Emails and phone calls received no response, and the required assessor sign-off and IQA were never completed. As a result, my qualification has been unfairly delayed due to the centre’s failure to operate.

The company still appears as active online, but in practice no service is being provided. I have since had to escalate the matter formally through City & Guilds and issue a Letter Before Action.

I would strongly advise prospective learners to exercise extreme caution before enrolling or making any payment.

Absolutely terrible experience

Absolutely terrible experience. Once you pay for one of their courses the contact with them ceases. No reply to emails, no tutor support and their phone line doesn’t work. Appalling. I have changed providers half way through my course.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE as Nina Domansky…

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE as Nina Domansky is the Managing Director and will happily take all money and not provide Certification at the end of training. No refunds have been offered to date and Nina is unprofessional in her lack of correspondence and promised time schedules. I will be instructing legal help to take further action as there is proof of messages where she agrees to send certificates and does not. This has jeopardised all work that rely on proof of qualifications. Nina has yet again agreed to send certs today 04/10/2925. All correspondence is is being monitored Nina.

Training in electrical

Training in electrical, have been great to me from when I started my 2365 L2 in 2019, and since then I’ve completed my 2365 L2&3, 18th edition, inspection and testing ( 2391 ). I’m currently coming to the end of my NVQ, with just an observation and my AM2 to complete.I can’t thank the lectures and assessors enough for all there help they have given to me over the last six years of learning with them. Its a great place to learn and meet new people who have the same ambitions you ( to learn and get qualified ) i done the Saturday class to reduce loss of earnings which is excellent as it meant I got to learn at the weekend and work through the week without loss of pay.
Thank you Training in Electrical

The centre doesn't accept positive criticism.

I first attended this centre around June 2022, all very polite and civilised. Passed two exams, one that Jamie tutored, an excellent tutor too. Recently I returned to study and sit the EV charging course. This was supposedly a two day course; unfortunately a new tutor spent around 40 minutes showing us a PowerPoint presentation, took us into a back workshop and showed us two charging modules, neither were wired in. That was it, a two day course wrapped up in less than a morning! There's me thinking the exam must be easy if you know your radials from your rings finals, your regs etc. Went in sat the exam and failed, no surprise really. Complaining to Nina I explained her course tutor spent most of the remaining time of the course (after our first morning) telling us about his easy life in Spain, after splitting up from his wife, his canal boat etc., etc. Her reply was, 'well the other two passed.' They did! No argument about that, but both had previously been in the motor trade, attended electrical vehicle training courses paid for by motoring companies! My gripe was that no adequate training was given to me, prior to sitting the exam. Nina, and her daughter's attitude towards me totally changed. From being invited to the family home, out for a drink, to an extremely frosty, and perfunctory, hello this morning, when I collected my last City & Guilds certificate. For these reasons I won't attend this 'training' centre again. Good luck to anyone else contemplating this centre, there are better so look around before committing your time and money.

I recently completed the 18th edition…

I recently completed the 18th edition course and had the pleasure of working with tutor Matt at Training in Electrical. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience. From start to finish, Matt was knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly helpful. His energy kept me focused on all tasks.

Matt delivered training to 12 of us and was extremely patient and knowledgeable, he took his time to explain complex concepts of the regulations book in a way that was easy for me to understand. Training in Electrical are always available to answer my questions and provide me with valuable insights and feedback that help me improve my skills and assist my journey to becoming an electrician.

In addition, the electrical training courses offered by Training in Electrical have also been positive. I’ve now competed the home study lvl 2 and lvl 3 Electrical installation courses. I found the materials supplied to be informative and I appreciated the flexibility of being invited to complete the practical sections that fitted around my current work shift pattern.

Since working towards my NVQ I have been able to apply what I learned on my lvl 2 & 3 immediately in my work.

The company's customer service was also outstanding. The staff was friendly, responsive, and went above and beyond to ensure that I had a positive experience.

Overall, I would highly recommend Training in Electrical training company to anyone looking to improve or gain skills and knowledge in the field. Thank you

Top notch electrical training provider

It is easy to book onto a course and get all your learning material. Everything from start to finish was straightforward. Jamie and clint are great tutors that take time to help you understand all the technical stuff. Nina and the other staff are lovely down to earth people that you can have constant fun and laughter with.

Cowboys in Training

I would give zero star for this place if I could, but in this case, one star can definitely be treated as such. I took a level three electrical course in 2016 at this place because they offered weekend classes. I travelled from Wolverhampton to Beeston Nr Nottingham every Sunday, a round trip of 106 miles approximately. The fees of £2500 was to be paid in three stages starting September, and the final by Christmas. By end of October, it was noticeable the teaching ability of the school's owner Robert Hurley wasn't up to standard. It became common chat amongst all the students. I asked for additional tuition, but was told to simply read various chapters in the text book. I completed all assignments and read ups on time, attended every class, mock tests etc. When the exams were due, I still had unanswered questions about certain areas. I completed my exams successfully except two. I was told to pay £45 to resit each exam, after two failed attempts. During one of these exams in February 2017, there was an IT problem. Instead of cancelling the exam, Hurley told the class "no one will fail, you'll all pass". I retook these exams and failed.
This wasn't the only occasion where exams candidates were disrupted. Workmen carried out construction work to alter an area in the corridor during an exam. When I told the young woman at reception, I was shocked by her response or indifference of "what can I do, you can take it again, you should speak to your tutor".
At no stage did the school give feedback where I were failing although I requested this. Candidates were given permission to use course notes in the exam, but halfway through I was accused of cheating, (after all the hard work and at age 59) and told to leave the room. The school deny they said that although there was another student present. I noticed two fellow students in particular who laughed or had an expression on their face as if they knew something that I was the subject of, but these two people were never bold enough to tell me why they acted the way they did whenever I spoke.
I saw the course as a change in career, but can only conclude I was victimized for complaining about the sub standard teaching and the school's inability to impart knowledge and training so it may be understood. The school is run by friends and relatives of the owner Robert Hurley. They are very young and inexperienced, come across as cold, don't know how to talk to people and are very rude. In furtherance, Hurley rarely answers query/complaints, but pass them onto Luke, the very young inexperienced office manager to respond to, who could not give a date for exams to be taken, and refused to deal with my complaints on teaching standards by actually blocking my emails. I was threatened with being thrown off the course unless the final installment was settled. These are accredited by City & Guilds, so your complaint won't go far because they're also profiting from these scammers. It's also a slick operation because they know it costs more than the fees to take legal action and get your money back. The only example of cheat was that committed against me by Training in Electrical as they are scam artists who will give you a pass along as you pay the fees and don't complain. My advice if you are attracted to the convenience of weekend study, visit the centre with someone in a similar industrial background,(electrical/trainers) to compare the centre facilities with all the good and bad reviews,(you will see the bad ones are highlighted way, way at the bottom) ensure they can show you and give verifiable checkable means to prooving their success, who they're accredited by and talking to anyone that's experienced their teaching methods. Otherwise avoid and do your damndess to go to evening classes at your local college. With my travel costs, fees and books equipment etc, I am certificateless and down around £4000. These people have no shame as plenty of my emails were blocked when I contacted them, and as they've kept my details in their database, are still emailing me to take up another course with them. My final warning to anybody taken in by these snakes in the grass is don't pay any mind to the fake reviews (they would have been written by Hurley, his friends, staff and relatives, and "if it's too good to be true, then it is too good to be true". You have been warned. Don't get caught out.
