I would like to express my strong dissatisfaction with the constant replacement of maritime training programs that do not comply with any recognized international standards, but instead are based only on internal company rules. We work in accordance with IMO (International Maritime Organization) regulations, as well as SOLAS and MARPOL requirements. We also hold internationally recognized certificates and diplomas, and yet we are required to complete additional trainings that take up our personal time and overload us with unnecessary information that is already clear, obvious, and well known to qualified professionals. For these reasons, I give the lowest possible rating to these trainings. Moreover, they are unpaid. If the company expects to employ qualified specialists who must spend additional personal time on mandatory training, this time should be properly compensated. If you impose additional requirements, you should also provide something in return, rather than only taking away our personal time that we could otherwise spend with our families. These trainings need to be reviewed, aligned with international standards, and fairly compensated.
