Lack of Communication - Kirsten Shaefer

Here’s a summary of the communications from Kirsten Shafer, the owner of Transcend Community Management, regarding Scott Gordon's requests for communication and follow-ups related to the ongoing water issue at Mesa Terrace:

Key Points:
Lack of Communication and Access:

Kirsten Shafer and Transcend Community Management repeatedly failed to communicate directly with Scott Gordon, despite his ongoing requests to resolve the water leak issue affecting unit #144 and unit #143. Scott noted several times that Kirsten refused to engage in conversations with him.
Kirsten's refusal to engage: In her response, Kirsten escalated the situation by sending a formal notice demanding that Scott cease communication with her. Kirsten referred to Scott's repeated communication attempts as harassment, despite Scott's position as the owner of unit #144 and his need for clear updates about the water issue affecting the property he manages.
Transcend Changed Locks Without Granting Access:

Emergency Access and Lock Change: Kirsten’s firm, Transcend, forced entry into unit #144 under the pretext of an emergency to investigate a leak impacting unit #143. Following this, Transcend changed the locks to Scott’s unit without notifying him.
Scott’s requests for access: Scott repeatedly requested a key to regain access to his unit. However, Kirsten refused to provide him with a key, further exacerbating the situation and leaving Scott unable to address the issue or inspect his unit.
Plumber's Report and Lack of Resolution:

Plumber’s involvement: A plumber hired by Transcend inspected the unit but did not find water inside unit #144, though the inspection report referenced the dishwasher as a potential source of water leakage into unit #143.
No clear resolution provided: Despite these inspections, no conclusive report or next steps were communicated to Scott by Kirsten or Transcend, leaving him without clarity on how to resolve the ongoing leak issue.
Ongoing Disregard for Scott’s Concerns:

Kirsten and Transcend Community Management have shown a consistent pattern of ignoring Scott's repeated requests for clarification and action. Scott communicated that, as of September 2024, Kirsten had not provided a timeline for repairs, leaving the water issue unresolved.
Scott also noted that Kirsten has shown little willingness to act as a neutral party, as she refused multiple requests for a phone call to discuss the matter.
Conclusion:
Kirsten Shafer and Transcend Community Management's refusal to engage with Scott Gordon, combined with their lack of transparency in addressing the water leak issue and withholding access to unit #144, has created significant obstacles in resolving the matter. Scott has been left without clear communication, a key to his unit, or a clear path to resolution, despite his ownership stake and ongoing efforts to address the issue. This has raised concerns regarding Kirsten’s handling of the situation, as Scott continues to escalate the matter to legal and regulatory channels.

Reply from Transcend Community Management

This individual has attempted through repeated threats and harassment to get our company to quit. The individual may be facing multiple issues regarding the condition of his unit, and this is yet another attempt to remove us as the manager of the community because we are protecting the integrity of the buildings and surrounding units by requiring his compliance through legal means by engaging the association's General Counsel. We reserve the right to pursue the person who posted this for defamation of character if it is not removed in a timely manner. When we are wrong, we readily admit our mistake and correct it immediately. In this case, the posted review is full of misstatements and accusations.

A very incompetent and unprofessional…

A very incompetent and unprofessional management company. Incapable of completing tasks and providing good customer support. Great company for the first several months, then the customer service went downhill quick.

-Cancelled prescheduled Board meetings at the last minute, sometimes just didn’t even show up. Always an excuse from the manager.
-Constant errors on our monthly financials.
-Scheduled unauthorized repairs/services at the community without Board approval. Never took responsibility for their mistakes.
-A horrific AI answering service that claims to not be AI; not at all capable of helping their customers or answering simple questions.
-Extremely difficult and uncooperative in helping our community to transition over to a new management company, even after promising to make for a smooth transition. They delayed sending documents and funds for over a month! Due to Transcends lack of communication, the new management company tried going to their office address listed on their website and google only to find that the office didn’t exist. They then told the new management company it’s the wrong address, but yet that address still remains across all of their advertising mediums.

Nothing was asked of Transcend outside of what was already agreed on the original signed contract or what they were doing for us the first several months. Unfortunately, to get anything done by Transcend as the months went on, it took having to ask multiple times or nothing would get done and still many times still nothing got done. This became very time-consuming and a very unnecessary waste of time for the Board.

We stayed with Transcend for almost 2 years, believing in the false promises from our manager that things would get better. Unfortunately, it just got worse.

I really hope this company will take a step back and reassess their many customer service issues that have been reported and make the changes necessary to become the property management company they promote themselves to be. Please take responsibility for your actions rather then continuously make excuses and blame others for your wrong doings. Best of luck!

Clown-show of a company with "virtual"…

Clown-show of a company with "virtual" assistance. It's so wonderful talking to a bot who claims they are a "real" person. And then provides you with a fake phone number when pressed for an emergency after-hours assistance number. It's lovely having to email someone for emergency help and then having them answer disingenuously with lies about fixing the problem. Would give them zero stars if I could. If you have a choice - stay far, far away from these cons.
