We believe storytelling plays a pivotal role in education and in creating a more responsible future of travel within the conservation landscape. We seek to minimise the negative environmental and social impacts of travel while maximising its positive impacts. These articles keep our readers informed and inspired to join us in celebrating Africa and doing good. Over sixteen million people in the last decade have read our stories that reflect the complexity and reality of life at ground level here in Africa. And, we generate significant donations for selected conservation projects that deliver impact at the ground level. We choose each project carefully based on our assessment of its contribution to biodiversity and rural people living amongst wildlife.

The trip was fine, but too expensive compared to the level of service.
To AG - I cannot reply to your comment, but find it difficult to understand that because Seychelles is a high cost destination, your cost is so high. You should then be transparent about this, instead of refusing to explain the high cost.

We had an amazing trip perfectly organised by Africa Geographic: everything was superb! Great places to sleep, delicious food, experienced guides and drivers, stunning wildlife, well organised transfers and flights ... a wonderful experience!!

My husband and I have just returned from a magical 5 day safari trip with Africa Geographic travel tours.
We stayed at the Khwai private game reserve, Little Sable, the Skybeds and Hyena Pan all of which exceeded our expectations by far. The accommodation was spacious, tastefully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. We were also warmly welcomed at the lodges by the very professional and passionate staff and guides
It was also such a unique and wonderful experience to be afforded the opportunity to be able to literally sleep under the stars at the Skybeds accommodation. We would highly recommend this!
Delicious gourmet meals were served throughout the day and the chefs were always wanting to please the guests!
Piet and I were also most fortunate to have the CEO Simon Espley and his lovely wife Lizz accompany us on the trip.
A heartfelt thanks to Simon and his amazing team for making our African adventure such an unforgettable experience, one which we will cherish and never forget.
If you are looking for a tour operator that will guarantee a vast knowledge of the bush, scrumptious meals, friendly, experienced staff and guides, comfortable accommodation then look no further than the AG team. We highly recommend them!

We did an 8 day trip to Botswana in June 2022 - an extended, 5 day Delta Detox followed by 3 days in Chobe national park. What can I say? In a nutshell, the experience far exceeded our expectations! Everything our AG consultant promised us was delivered - on time, efficiently and always with a warm smile.
On the planning side, Christian was super flexible and accomodating of our queries, changes to the advertised program, and dates. And there were no hitches to the delivery. He notified us well in advance of the need to change our journey into the delta because of the delayed floods this year, but assured us we would nonetheless have an eventful journey by safari vehicle rather than boat. And he wasn't wrong! We passed through herds of elephant, had to navigate deep water across the road, and even had to make our own bush detour to get to camp. It was an awesome (4 hour) start to our trip - and the crackling fire and friendly camp staff were there to welcome us just as the sun was setting. Very special.
The accommodation was all we expected and hoped for, with attached toilet/shower tent and essentials like mozzie spray provided. Jonathon was always there at the right times with hot water from the fire! The meals prepared by Josiah were great and always hot, and the campfire bread was to die for!
We were surprised to find that the operator provided a safari vehicle and motor boat in addition to the mokoros, so we were extremely well catered for when we wanted a change from our morning walking safaris. All included in the fee we paid to AG for the trip.
Highlights of our trip? Honestly, we had so many it's difficult to be specific. We had encounters with lion, elephant, hippo and crocs and innumerable birds (including the elusive Pels fishing eagle), antelope, etc. And plenty of what I called "white knuckle" experiences, mainly with elephant while in a mokoro or motor boat. The nightly chorus of frogs, lions, hyena, and hippos was wonderful. We can't think of what we would improve or change, and commend Philemon, Pat and the entire team - who looked after the two of us like royalty - for their customer-focused service. We especially noted their VERY conservative style when it came to walking and mokoro safaris. They simply took no chances and we felt extremely confident we were in the best of hands out in the bush.
Leading up to the trip, my wife was nervous about elephants, hippos, and going in a Mokoro, not to mention being on foot in the bush with wild animals, but found the careful approach taken by all guides put her at ease and she felt very comfortable throughout the trip. We would recommend the Delta Detox experience to anybody! And as a side note, I'm 74 and my wife 65, so don't think this is just for youngsters!
In terms of value for money, the "Delta Detox" experience is probably the most economical way to experience delta life close to nature. It's not a 5-star experience as luxury safaris go, but it also doesn't carry the price tag! If you are comfy with the idea of staying in a tent, showering outdoors (in privacy) eating meals prepared on a camp fire and are not freaked out by the odd mozzie, fly, or creepy-crawly, this experience is one for you and for your memoirs!

Africa Geographic was super prompt and professional at each stage of the booking process. The agent was very knowledgeable about alternative destinations and explained the pros and cons of each.
I was not the perfect customer! The agent was patient as my plans changed before the booking. He advised me at each step showing the options and costs. Once I had decided to proceed he was well-informed about the specific options like airport pickup. All costs were explained up-front. After the booking was made I had to cancel two flights in and out of the destination - again the options and credit were handled flawlessly.
All that was handled very professionally and in a most helpful manner.

We have just returned from a three-week family adventure with Africa Geographic Travel’s primate tour. We cannot begin to express our gratitude for the personalised itinerary that suited our needs perfectly, for the flexibility, for the incredible guides on the ground and for the expert advice provided from beginning to end. After 2.5 years of postponements, with our young adult children now spread across the globe, this was a dream adventure that has created lasting memories. With a particular interest in birds and wildlife, we were awe-struck by the natural beauty and conservation efforts of Rwanda - with the opportunity to track and observe a range of primate species, including chimpanzees and mountain gorillas in Rwanda and Grauer’s gorillas in the DRC. A huge thank you to Christian, who meticulously planned (and re-planned!) our journey, kept in touch along the way and ensured a safe and memorable experience. This kind of service and care is invaluable and we have no hesitation recommending Africa Geographic to other travellers!

I stayed in two lodges in South Africa recommended by Christian at AG. The first, The Bush House in Madikwe was a fabulous setting for an amazing wildlife experience. As well as seeing the big 5, the experiences at the property's own waterhole were on another level - black rhino at night and lots of eles in the daytime.
I also did a self drive in Kruger up to The Outpost - a stunning lodge with unbelievable views and exceptional game drives. You don't get the big 5 here but I did get the most fantastic bird sightings and the fever tree forest and lake is breath-taking.
The guides in both locations were extremely knowledgable and a pleasure to spend time with.
A rare sighting of two black rhino was the highlight of my trip. Many thanks AG.
The most honest way to review our recent trip is to repeat what I provided Africa Geographic Travel in their Feedback Form :
Covering Note :Thanks so much for your message and for sending the Feedback Form which I have attached – in a nutshell, our trip was beyond amazing on all fronts !
Starting with our initial interaction with yourselves, our flight up on AirLink, our meet and greet at Maun, our internal charter flights with Major Blue Air, the exceptional staff at both camps, our rangers and the sheer privilege of being in the Delta in terms of the natural environment and the exceptional animal and bird sightings – just amazing !
Accommodation :Both Mapula and Sable Alley were excellent. Mapula, being an older lodge, is not as 'cutting edge', but has been well maintained and is generally in an excellent condition - we were told that the public areas are scheduled for an upgrade.
Sable Alley was excellent on all fronts and the 'honeymoon suite' which we were allocated, exceptional
Transport Services : The meet and greet on arrival was seamless and excellent and the air flights by Major Blue Air on a similar seamless and high standard - pilots of all three flights were excellent
Guides : In keeping with comments made to date, both Costa (Mapula) and Tezzar (Sable Alley) were an absolute delight to be with, knowledgeable and went the extra mile - nothing was too much for them
Most Memorable Moment : Parking off for a good hour on a beautiful tree-fringed plain at Mapula watching a breeding herd of elephants interacting with one another and witnessing three separate bull elephants approaching the herd to ascertain whether their services were required
Suggested Improvements : On this trip, we can honestly say that you would battle to improve on the entire package that we were treated to.
Any Further Comments : Just keep up the good work - will actively promote your services !
We spent 5 amazing days in Botswana at Camp Okuti. our trip arranged by Africa Geographic's Nadia Lautenbach was seamless and perfectly arranged. From our meet and greet at Maun Airport to our meet and greet at Maun Airport on check in back to SA, we did not need to lift a finger. We flew into Moremi in a 6 seater before being collected by the lodge. The lodge is beautifully situated on the Maunachira River. The accommodation is spacious and extremely comfortable The staff are amazing, so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Cautious, our guide was great and did a fabulous job. We had incredible sightings including watching a pack of 15 wild dogs taking down an impala. We also saw them revving a small herd of wildebeest. Elephants were a regular sighting and the Lions were also around. My birdlist increased by 12! Special sightings were a greater painted snipe and a bat hawk. Cautious arranged for us to visit a neighbouring lodge where a Pel's Fishing Owl was nesting in a Marula tree on the lodge's main deck! We also did a boat trip which was beautiful with all the water lilies and water birds. The scenery around the lodge is beautiful and Paradise Pools and Dead Tree Island were my favourite by far. Our return to Maun was first a helicopter trip to an airstrip that wasn't waterlogged followed by a 10 seater plane trip.
Pungwe Lodge was great - we really enjoyed it! The lodge is in a good area so the wildlife and the birds were spectacular. The lodge guides have been there for 20 years so know that area really well, they know where to find stuff and how the animals will react so we had some wonderful sightings.
We had great lion sightings, the guides knew the behaviour of the lions, and we were able to watch them mating which was really interesting and made for good photos. We were also fortunate with elephant sightings, there are a lot of bulls in the area and we watched a big fellow shake a marula tree which brought the marula fruits pelting down like a heavy hail storm.
The camp facilities were on a no-frills basis, but everything in good order. We went to see the wildlife so all fine with us on that front.
Bookings made by AG went smoothly and hassle free. The shuttle was there to meet us at the airport and drove us safely and timely back. The shuttle drivers were very friendly and we really appreciated that service.
Many thanks to the AG team for everything you did for us to make this trip happen, despite the pandemic. We have recommended friends to book the same, and are happy to pass on further recommendations.
Perfectly organized trip by Africa Geographic travel. It had matched our expectations

A safari holiday such as this is perhaps one of the best, nothing better. All one has to concern oneself with is getting up in the morning, showering and getting dressed... the rest is done for you AND how well they do it!
3 nights at Mapula Camp and 3 nights at Sable Alley Camp in the Okavango delta.
Food outstanding, staff friendly efficient and the guides, both Koster at Mapula and Tizzar at Sable Alley were delighted when I said "big game is fine but we are interested in the birds".
I even got Koster a lifer with a vagrant Freckled Nightjar and Tizzar two, Red-backed Shrike and Dusky Lark.
Yes a wonderful diversion and distraction from these covid pandemic times.

Nadia from Africa Geographic Travel arranged on short notice (same day..) a wonderful trip including a walking safari in the Greater Kruger. This was done in a quick and uncomplicated manner. Nadia stayed in contact during the trip to see if all went well and if there was anything needed or missing. All was nicely prepared and selected, very nice Guest Houses, Camps and Glamping! The walking safari was most unique, a fantastic experience out in the bush with 2 guides, Hans Ensslin and Brendan Davies, who made all the difference. Thanks to their experience and thoughtfulness, care and dedication we had an amazing and unforgettable time. Well done, Hans and Brendan and thanks as well Nadia for your friendly and easy support!
We expected the best facilities and accommodation from lodges of this star-rating. We were not disappointed, but what we did not expect was the exceptionally good and friendly guides. They were all very knowledgeable and did go the extra mile every time! Another revelation was the fact that we could enjoy the animal-sighting without the crowds and drive before sunrise and after sunset.
We were worried about traveling in Covid times, especially because of last-minute arrangements. The Africa Geographic Travel team, was exceptionally good to make our travels easy and effortless. From border crossing to COVID testing went smoothly. Their experience and advice on traveling in Africa was a revelation! They gave good advice from safari in Botswana to finding Bonobo in Central Africa!!
Africa Geographic provided an optimum safari experience at Kambaku River Sands in the Timbavati Reserve of South Africa. Every detail was flawlessly managed. The accommodations were outstanding and the game viewing exceeded my expectations, which were high. The efforts and expertise of Johan, Julius, Douglas, Molly and the entire staff were much appreciated. I strongly recommend the Kambaku River Sands to anyone seeking a lovely and fulfilling safari in South Africa.
It’s with pleasure I’m writing this review of our recently completed trip to the Masai Mara in Kenya.
Our trip was initially planned for August 2020 but was delayed a year due to COVID. Thanks to Christian and Nadia for rescheduling and keeping us informed of the requirements for traveling during these uncertain times.
All Africa Geographics planning ensured our trip came off seamlessly. All transfers were on time and all accommodations exceeded expectations. From our 2 night stopover in Nairobi to the 6 nights at the beautiful Enkewa camp in the Mara everything went off without a hitch, which is a godsend when traveling with twin 12 year olds.
A special mention to Jose and his exceptional facility the Enkewa Camp. The tent accommodations personified Glamping, the meals were delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful in every way.
Enough cannot be said for our guides Dominic and Joseph. From the time they picked us up from the dirt strip in the Mara ,till the time they dropped us off for our return trip, they were truly a pleasure. When they
asked,we provided an extensive wish list and we had ticked off our last item on the fourth morning with some beautiful views and photo opportunities of the black rhino. They always managed to find us the best vantage points for all our sightings be it lion kills, cheetah hunts or a river crossing of 10000 plus animals. Every day we were left wondering how they could possibly top that days experiences but then they would.
My wife and I have taken many nature based trips around the world and this compares to the very best.
Thank you again to all at Africa Geographic and the Enkewa Camp for making this a truly memorable experience.
We 1st booked our trip to the Okavango Delta for 2020 and had to move it a few times due to Covid restrictions. Christian & his team were so accommodating & assisted to ensure the changes were seamless throughout. We finally embarked on our trip in June and I cannot speak highly enough of Africa Geographic, our guide Philemon and his team on the ground in Botswana. What an absolute pleasure for our group of 9. We were picked up in Maun, transferred to our guesthouse for a night before leaving for Khwai (3 nights) and Chief's Island (4 nights). A brilliant experience was had by all. Magnificent campsites with spacious tents (fantastic to have your own en-suite ablutions & shower). Plenty of warm water during the day for washing. Philemon and his team entertained us with wonderful anecdotes and campfire stories. We ate the most delicious food - freshly cooked outside by Jo & Gift and beautifully presented. Honestly we were spoilt. We walked, we drove, we meandered on mokoros, we glided through the Delta by speedboat - what an adventure from start to finish! We'll treasure the memories. Thanks Christian, Nadia, Margareta, Philemon, Alfred, Fortress, Jo, Gift, Culture, Obie, Lucky, Jimmy. We will definitely use Africa Geographic again and have already recommended to friends!
I am indebted to Christian Boix (Africa Geographic Travel) for the excellent insight and organisation regarding my needs to do a peaceful walking Safari. He could not have got it better. The Africa on Foot Wilderness Trail - After 4 nights/ 3 days walking and tenting (glamping, more likely) in the beautiful Maseke Reserve, I had 4 nights / 5 days in the equally lovely Klaserie Reserve. My guides Keegan and then Adi were absolutely amazing: knowledgeable, gentle, kind and passionate about what they do. I saw so much and learnt so much. Thank you Christian and Africa Geographic Travel for soooooo giving me the ideal tranquil and heart filling week ever!
A life time experience and seeking new adventures. Our trip organized by Africa Geographic was exceptional.
Taking in mind that at the moment we are dealing with the pandemic Covid-19, Africa Geographic worked with a great team to make this vacation happen. The planning before our trip was meticulous. The team was in contact continuously preparing every detail and thinking with us. They located logistical problems far ahead of time, so we could make amendments to the itinerary. Even during the trip Africa Geographic was in contact with us to assist us if a problem did occur. The transfers were handled amazing and for us - we just needed to sit back and relax. !!!! Well done! In French we say : Chapeau.
We did a 2 week mobile safari in Botswana : Okavango Delta, Khwai\Moremi, Safuti and Chobe. The trip was combined with mekoro rides and walks in the Delta to extensive drives in the other parks. Neat tents with bucket shower and wc en suite. Well prepared meals and dining under the stars of the African sky. Very helpful and welcoming staff. Further on to Zambia - Kafue national park and to end the trip , the Zambezi and Victoria Falls. We were transferred to a small gem on the extensive lake in Kafue - Nanzhila lake view. Very remote but beautiful setting and scenery. Steve and Cindy, the lodge owners are extremely friendly and hospitable. We spent 4 nights in lovely chalets on the waterfront. Heard the hippos call all night. Beautiful bird life. Our last nights we spent closer to the human world in the lovely lodge Chundukwa river lodge. A perfectly situated chalet on the grand Zambezi river. Overlooking the fast streaming river and the opposite Zimbabwe. Hippo and birds surround you. A leisurely sundowner on the Zambezi, a helikopter flight over the extraordinary Victoria Falls and to top it up a canoe ride on the river. Gail and Doug , together with their staff, did everything to make it a long lasting perfect experience.
Africa Geographic was able to make traveling happen in this new Covid-19 , rapid changing, environment. Well done! We look forward to our next trip organized by this amazing Africa Geographic team.
Nadia, thank you! From the time we 1st started planning this trip, you put together an amazing itinerary @ Sentinel. You gave me lots of options for dates, number of nights, costs, and the entire package with all transfers. I know you spent a lot of time putting this together. Most importantly, you put us in the perfect camp! The Sentinel Mara Camp was exactly what I had envisioned! We wanted to be around beautiful people & beautiful wildlife.
I also want to thank you & Christian for all the updates & links & protocol updates that came up due to the pandemic. Despite Covid, we pulled this trip off. Your updates & travel advisors allowed us to be ready & get everything we needed done on time.
Peter, our camp manager met us immediately & gave us a warm welcome. He told us that he hoped his staff would exceed our expectations.
THE SENTINEL CAMP WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Perfect 10s across the board.
The staff took amazing care of us. Beautiful camp & tents, daily laundry, awesome conversations with the team, security escorts, everything was perfect.
The food was so delicious! And the going away breakfast on the Mara river was amazing.
The camp being right on the Mara River is a constant safari while on safari.
Most importantly to me, the safari drives. Wow, I really don't know what to say. Our guide Dominic was the best guide we could have met. He knows the Mara & the animals perfectly. We had the most amazing sightings. Sightings you could only dream of. Caracal, lion cubs, cheetah & lion kills, just to name a few.
This was our 1st trip to Kenya. The Sentinel camp made it a perfect safari despite the worldwide pandemic.
I will return someday, and when I do, I WILL BE AT THE SENTINEL CAMP! I don't want to go anywhere else.
You know it's a great vacation when your sad to say goodbye. Our whole family was sad to leave.
Peter, Dominic, Jacob & the rest of the team, thank you for taking my family in & treating us so well.
